Harnel falls into the pit, dragged down by the vines around his lower body. As they start wrapping around his neck and arms however, he pulls his trump card.

For a moment he is completely still as he draws in his will and focus. He moves a huge amount of his energy into breaking free, and with a single massive roar, he'll burst every vine around him. If successful (And this is the kind of maneuver that should be), he'll make a single massive leap out of the pit, soaring out of it to land well back onto the ground outside it, away from the pit, if not the vines. and the best part is he didn't even lose his weapon this time. If he makes it out he'll still be listening to air currents to locate Nero.

As far as it goes, Harnel just drew it all his energy and let it out in a single burst. He's essentially a ki user, and that would have forced the vines wider, making them loose. so... I guess they'll just be loose enough for him to leave, but the effect is pretty clear - this is how he's going to escape. keep in mind though, He can only do this once and it fatigues his already battered form. Doesn't stop him from being a guy that can bench press a ton and a half, though, so would you prefer he just tears free of the vines?
