Shrike might jog past a ghost she hasn't seen before! But then, it's just a ghost. Why stop for a chat?

"I wouldn't want to keep you." Jack waves after her before turning back to the lake.

[The Bushranger]

New ghosts are of interest!
And after waving to Jack and jogging a bit, Shrike, noticing the new ghost, slows and waves.

The ghost turns to Shrike and waves, having now noticed her.
Oh hey. It's the nymph. Irene.
You remember.
The one you tried to kill.

Of course, I'm reasonably certain Shrike looks rather different by now, so Irene doesn't recognize her.

Slightly different. Her hair has white tips and her figure is somewhat more bronzed.
Also...more voluptrous.
Might be recoginisble after a moment...

...of course, the fact Shrike stumbles upon recognising Irene draws attention to her, too...

Ah. Thought it was more dramatic after Yaza, exalting, counter-exalting, and then redeeming. But I guess not!

"YOU!!" Irene hisses out.

Well, a number of the Yaza-ish changes were actually undone by the Exaltation...
Plus, her face remained pretty much the same. It was lower that she looks more different. >_>

Shrike recovers in an instant, though!
And raises her hands!
"Hey, hey, I've got better!"

"You... got better? REALLY?! That's the best you can come up with?! You never should have even been let out of prison!"
Irene exclaims, going to float up in Shrike's face.

[The Bushranger]

"I wasn't let out I escaped, and now I've been redeemed. And I'm on the council," Shrike says levelly, staring back at Irene! Staaaaaaaring...

[Lakeside]

Irene does far more than stare.
She GLARES.
AND. AND. She crosses her arms in front of her.

"So an assassin for hire escaped prison and they decided to put you IN CHARGE?!"

"...I think you missed the 'got redeemed' part in between those two steps?"
Shrike actually chuckles a bit nervously...

Jack probably wanders away from his rock a while later.

And is... probably watching the conversation from a distance with some amusement.

[Reinholdt]

[Lakeside]

"Uh-huh. Sure. And what have you done to redeem yourself then, hmm?" Glare glare.

[The Bushranger]

[Lakeside]

"Came here, joined up, did the Evilholics Anon thing," Shrike says matter-of-factly. "Oh, did I mention 'got selected to be a champion for Truth and Justice, got turned into a dark mirror of that, then got turned back, both turnings very, very painful?"

[Reinholdt]

[Lakeside]

"How incredibly vague and not convincing." Irene says, matter-of-factly. "And just who selected you for this oh so special assignment?"

[The Bushranger]

[Lakeside]

"Well, excuse me if being left wiht a near-crippling fear of being locked in a box makes me not want to discuss it further. And as for who selected me - I was selected for Exaltation by the Unconquered Sun Himself, and for the Council by Quinn." Shrike huffs.

[Reinholdt]

[Lakeside]

"The sun you say?" Irene looks up at the sun. "Is that true n-" She stops to look back at Shrike.
"Did you say Exalt?"

[The Bushranger]

[Lakeside]

"Yes," Shrike says simply. "Yes, I did."

[Reinholdt]

[Lakeside]

Irene scowls.
"And since Exalting and becoming the champion of Truth and Justice, what have you done? What truth have you spread? What justice?"

[The Bushranger]

[Lakeside]

"I have fought the forces of darkness that have sought to corrupt the Nexus, and battled those who have sought to hurt others," Shrike says simply - but fiercely.

[Reinholdt]

[Lakeside]

"How still remarkably vague and overall unbelievable. And the people you were hired to kill? Did you give them their lives back?" Irene says, with spite in her voice.

[Murkus]

Lakeside

Jack stands here, looking extremely amused. Though he isn't staring at the pair. Occasionally just glancing out at the lake.

[The Bushranger]

"No. Why do you think I stay here and work instead of leaving?" Shrike says. "I don't ask for your forgiveness or understanding - nor do I need it. I won't apologise, becasue I know you won't accept it. I was what I was, and I am what I am."

Zero is also watching the fight.

"Can't say I'm surprised. You don't even want it. An assassin doesn't ask forgiveness from her prey. After all, it's just business." Irene sneers and turns to float off, not horribly convinced Shrike has changed at all, based on her responses.

Shrike sighs, shakes her head, and resumes her jog.

Zero just shakes his head and sits by the edge of the lake again.

Andy now all wounds healed and such walks around, he isn't looking for someone, but he seems to be stuck in thoughts. A penny for his thoughts maybe?

Peddler's Wagon, Middle of Camp

"Taters grow unnerground, apples above. Both have green leafy bits, but they no taste nice; apples also brown woody bit that horrible. Not good club-wood either. Bit you got bit you eat. Maybe seeds, too. Truggalump not know much 'bout plants." Truggalump's strength is only slightly more than the average hill giant, and actually proportional to his size (unless the bins were larger than I thought they were). The bag of potatoes, incidently, is very heavy and probably about dwarf-sized.

The dwarf and his wife will easily carry away their goods, with the wife chatising the dwarf who traded for not getting a good enough deal.

Jack may well notice Susan approaching. She's trying to be quiet, with her pistol drawn.

If she manages to get to Jack she'll put her pistol to the base of his neck.

Either way, she'll say:

"What the hell are you doing here?" The man threatened to attack her best friend when she wasn't in the most stable of mental states. And then there was a gunfight and she just managed to get out alive.

Not exactly happy with Jack being there.
