Oh, I know that they're the colour palettes for characters. But why? And are they anything else?

I can tell that they're the ponies. I just can't tell why turning them into rectangles is "awesome".

I figured out what it was pretty quick, but it isn't my thing.

It seems to be colour schemes for most of the ponies... Arranged according to size of the pony (AJs hat, for example, makes her bar the longest out of main six).

It's probably referencing something, but I have no idea what.

Not really referencing anything, it's just a way of testing how recognizable your characters are by their colour schemes. The rectangles are all done up with the colours in the places you would find them on the ponies themselves. If you're able to identify the characters just by their rectangles, the colour schemes have been well designed. I've seen a few for other things like Team Fortress 2 and another one that was just a whole slew of main characters from video games.

Don't really expect everyone to get the same kick out of it I do. I'm a bit of a massive animation freak (which is the entire reason I ended up sucked into this show in the first place ) and just think it's really cool when I can look at something like that and actually recognize all the characters. Yeah, I'm weird.

Then daddy came and took her to a white place with ponies wearing white things, and it was nice. Then, daddy took her home and he and mommy played with Waverider all day. The next day, daddy had to go to work. Mommy took her and her doll, Madame Cutie, to the beach. Mommy showed her how to ride an inflatable dolphin, and Waverider played and played and played. The sky turned orange, and even though she couldn't see mommy or the wagon or Madame Cutey anymore, she didn't care because playing on the inflatable dolphin was her favorite.

Seriously, why people call Celestia Royal Mayesty or Imperial Majesty in fanfics? These are monarchic titles, princes are styled Her Highness, Her Serene Highness, or Her Most Serene Highness, in order of importance (so Blueblood is probably HH Blueblood, while Celestia is HMSH), dammit! >_<

So, as my drawing skills are not really up to snuff, and my fanfiction writing enthusiam gets me writing one fic every ten years or so (no, really), I was going to make a humorous poster relating the elements of harmony with Aang's Avatar state. I even got as far as downloading some pictures, then found that to actualy photoshop something, I actually need some better image software than Paint Shop Pro 8. So, yeah. So much for that idea. It would have been quiet humorous, honest.

Who says Fluttershy's infested? All the cute little Zerg love her (and fear The Stare), but they get a little uncomfortable around things that don't have exoskeletons. So to make them more comfortable while she's making sure all the little 'lings are getting enough rest she wears a nice Zerg costume she had Rarity make for her. (Rarity was less than pleased at the idea of making it)

Well, she is head of state and royal. Seems like a monarch to me.

Also, the title "prince" derives from the Roman word "princeps". Augustus, the first Roman emperor used that title to keep up the facade that his subjects still lived in a republic and he was merely "the first citizen". So whenever the use of the word princess instead of queen annoys you, exchange it for "princeps". That should help, it does for me.
