Re: General Exalted Discussion V: Our Armies are Pants
The clothing. He could be The All-Poncho. I could see him having a wide range of charms, including "Western Shootout Anticipation Instinct" and "Bright Yellow Rain-Castigating Shintai". I figure his perfect defense would involve revealing that there was, in fact, another, smaller man hidden underneath the poncho, who took the hit instead, and then falls out from under the poncho, dead. Its imperfection would obviously entail wearing a poncho, and making sure no one is able to see under the poncho while you're defending - because the power is narrative. The other, smaller man was always there. If they're looking, then that can't happen.

Re: General Exalted Discussion V: Our Armies are Pants
Sancho, Shancho Panza (which translates to "Sancho Belly", which fits because Sancho was a rather round man). I wrote Pancho in there for a minute because all the talk of ponchos ended up crossing my brain wires for a moment .

Re: General Exalted Discussion V: Our Armies are Pants
Well, there's one for He Whose Name Cannot Be Spelled on the Wiki. I haven't actually sat down and thought about any of the mechanics, but it goes a long way toward making him a force to be legitimately feared and not just another indestructible plot device of ultimate doom. There are already like a dozen of those.

Yeah! You wanna be friends?
Oh hey, I seem to have been stocking characters away in this thread. Not a lot, unfortunately, but I hope to add another batch soon.

Re: General Exalted Discussion V: Our Armies are Pants
I was, mostly. For this reason:
Although I'm glad there are Exaltedfolk in the playground who are open to the idea of playing via skype. It's looking more and more likely that I'm going to have very little-to-no internet access for most of July. So, in August, I may start Xefas' Secret Infernals Skype Game.

Re: General Exalted Discussion V: Our Armies are Pants
No, based upon his insistence that "tonberrian" does not merit a capital, "tonberrian" is not a proper noun. Thus it is a proper target for scrabblelization. Thus it is a proper part of the english language. Thus perfect english effects, like that a sentence must start with a capital letter, apply. Tonberrian thus deserves capitalization when we are talking about him in active voice. Passive voice does not inflict capitalization on tonberrian. Confused yet? No? Wow, you must play a game where a cat-girl searching for the reincarnation of her preincarnation's husband to eat him is normal and expected.
Out of curiosity, how badly would grabbing solar circle sorcery right off the bat cripple a solar? Also, what circle of sorcery can primordial and yozis access? Are they greater or worse sorcerers than solars?

Re: General Exalted Discussion V: Our Armies are Pants
Depends on whether or not you're going with the "Free spell for each initiation into sorcery" houserule. Yes? Not too badly; you still have enough Charms to snag perfects and can still get minor spells. No? Don't do it; you're either wasting three Charms, or exchanging your perfects for spells.
They can hit Adamant Circle as well, but their sorcerous initiations are tainted as per the Primordial in question. Ebon Dragon, for instance, does best when casting spells that involve shadows and such, but is barred from light-y, Holy-type spells. Cecelyne gets a discount on summoning Charms, Kimbery gets a discount on spells involving water and aquatic travel, et cetera.Last edited by TheCountAlucard; 2011-06-05 at 08:31 PM.

Re: General Exalted Discussion V: Our Armies are Pants
I spot a flaw in your logic: Scrabble allows you to use words from other languages, so thus while tonberrian may be a proper target for scrabbleization that does not necessarily make it a part of the english language.
Without Flaws it is impossible to start with Essence 5, even then the Essence rating alone eats a huge chunk of your bonus points. Also I believe you are forbidden from taking Solar Circle spells at start so it is kind of pointless to be initiated.
As for Primordials, they can access all three Circles of Sorcery and a very small handful can access Necromancy. We only know for sure how many circles of necromancy the Ebon Dragon can access (2) but I would think it is safe to say the same number applies to the other(s).
