So, I've finished up day two of the local anime convention. I've seen quite a few pony cosplays around, got my picture taken with a Pinkie Pie one, and participated in a freeform pony RP.

It's a little late-I was away for the evening and this thread moves fast-but my condolences as well, Phoe. I've lived with animals pretty much all my life, dogs and cats so I know how much it hurts to have that happen.

Heck, I cried when we had to put down one of my tree frogs, and that wasn't that long ago. I'm an absolute sucker when it comes to animals. So definitely my condolences, and I hope today will be better for you.

Inkscape is what I, and several other avatarists use.

Agreed with Inkscape, though personally I've stopped using Khosan's guide and started using this one instead. Khosan's guide is great (I did my avatar with it) but I'm liking how the other one looks more. That and it gives me more practice with actually drawing the shapes of the ponies.

And while we're posting references, here's a really good one for getting poses worked out.
