    "Uh, what are Publicans?" asked Calixta, moving towards the new guy to seek cover. Having been attacked twice it may be smarter to take these people out rather than risk being attacked again. Worry gnawed at Calixta's stomach. This day was riddled with attempts to kill things and she really hadnt thought she would ever have to again.

    Llorat gestures to the nearest building which is plain from the outside. Windows high and small every 30 ft. You can see into the foyer, hardwood covered in bird dung.

    Sya taps Llorat on the shoulder, using two fingers point to her eyes then, points to the building where she sees people moving, then holds up two fingers in front of him with emphasis. Then moves deeper into cover and (as quietly as possible) casts mage armor on herself from their cover position.

    Its clear to all that they have been observing you. They are in a building that has a primary door close to you, and a second door near the corner of the building. The building itself is made of stone. The glasswork has all been punched out. The large portrait windows are throught the building.

    Llorat stands near the door and motions for Calixta to join he and Cali inside this building.

    Llorat:

    *in a whispered tone*
    "Come, I'll keep an eye on them."

    You've all retreated into the building, and you see now that this was prbably once a holding pen for birds. There are droppings everywhere and the stench is fowl.

    Following after Sya, behind and to her right, Calixta steels herself for what is to come. Namely charging into someone and using her sword as hard as she can.

    Calixta uses a swift action to change into Punishing Stance (-2 AC, +1d6 dmg on all attacks), which will last until cancelled.

    As you three leave the doorway Llorat points, indicating where the figures lay in wait. You are running full-speed(Cali pulling ahead of the dwarves if she doesn't attempt to keep pace with them.

    You have options for reaching them fastest.

    1. Jump through the window(no glass). Most direct, a gimmie for Cali considering its only about 3-4 feet tall, she could almost step through. This will get you right up close and personal.

    2. Use the close door. It is shut currently. Will take more time than the window for sure.

    3. Use the far door. it swings open on its hinges, but will take quite some time to get to where you're actually going.


    As you pull out of the door, you hear a voice.

    Beard:

    "Go!"

    Beard stands upon the second floor of the building and also looks through the no-glass window.

    Three crossbow bolts fly in your direction, two from the figures down below, one from Beard.

    No-one seems to have taken a bolt.

    Your ray hits square, please roll the extra d3 like we talked about on the phone.

    @Cali

    You could make a jump as a part of a charge(a la Kettle). Here's the formula

    During your jump you travel up to 1/2 the check(result) horizontally
    During your jump you travel up to 1/4 the check(result) vertically.

    A 10 gets you a 5 foot jump 2.5 feet in the air.
    A 12 is 6 and 3
    16 is 8 and 4

    Since there is an obstacle in the way, you could try to use it to your advantage. Try a balance check for that.

    Then her jump check to clear the window: (1d20+7)[16] +4 Ranks + 3 Str
    Balance, if need be: (1d20+4)[18] +2 Ranks +2 Dex

    Assuming she clears the window, she will continue her charge at the first enemy she can contact.

    Attack: (1d20+6)[15] +1 Base Attack +3 Str + 2 Charging.
    If hits, damage: [roll]2d8+1d6+4[/roll] ((Thats a large sized bastard sword, plus her stance plus 1 1/2 times her Str))

    Finally, at the end of her turn, she will expend a swift action to end her stance, negating the -2 to her AC.

    Current AC: 13 (10+ Armor + Dex - Charge)

    Nice round.

    Sya does indeed aim at the first person she'd smacked beforehand, and her ray takes him down.

    Cali's incredibly heroic charge and literal smackdown show a viscious side that Sya has probably never even seen before. I bet she supprised herself as well.

    Llorat needed a full turn to get over the ledge, and when he got there he didn't have anything to swing at.

    Vecna's arse! (A serious curse)

    Beard is only visable in breaks in the ceiling, but you see him adeptly spring accross the roof and off in just a few short seconds

    There is a ladder near the far side of the building. The noise you heard didn't t lead towards the ladder, it lead towards the side of the building.

    Blood pounded in her ears, nearly drowning out the sounds around her. She barely registered the sounds of movement above her or even Sya yelling. Adrenaline and power surged through Calixta as she looked down upon the handiwork of her blade. She felt something inside her die.

    Torn between chasing after Beard, crying and vomiting, Calixta needs to make a Will Save.

    Calixta knows about battle. She's studied it, learned from others. Her blade has tasted blood but that doesnt make her a monster. Though saddened by the loss of life at her feet, at her hands no less, she must stay the course and proactively protect herself and Sya.

    She turns and runs back out of the building through the window, moving around the building to try and locate Beard running across the rooftops from the ground. She'd chase him on foot if she has to.
