Re: [4e] Random Banter Buddies DnD Campaign
No, but whatever it is I don't see, I suggest that you refrain from stepping on it until we can tell what it is.
Elden walks over to Bast and inspects the apparently odd flagstone closely.

Elden:SpoilerNot only do you see that the area of the floor Bast is pointing out (specificly, the square right infront of the door) is a slightly different colour, you also see that said square is raised up a bit, and that when Bast prods it, it lowers down a bit. You are almost certain she is inches away from setting off a trap of some sort.

Re: [4e] Random Banter Buddies DnD Campaign
Thanks to knowing what you are looking for, Bast, you find a miniscle wire, inbetween the stone floor. It leads up the wall, into the cieling, and you notice that the stone cieling above where the trap is is a differently colour as well, and the wire leads up into that square of stone.

Re: [4e] Random Banter Buddies DnD Campaign
Bast deftly fiddles with the mechanism, severing the wire carefully. You hear a click, and a small spark from where the wire was cut, but nothing happens. Hooray, you've disarmed the trap. Since trap's give XP, you all get 50 XP, so you now all have 1497 XP. Hooray!
So, now that the trap is disarmed, shall you try to open the door to the next room?Last edited by LaZodiac; 2011-09-12 at 06:14 PM.

Juniper nods approvingly. "Good work, Bast. But let's not be too hasty here. There may be more traps."
And he proceeds to examine the room.

Re: [4e] Random Banter Buddies DnD Campaign
I didn't see anything else. Let's continue. But...
Bast pauses.
What makes me wonder though...
The door is trapped, at least until I undid it. So for them to move through this door, they'd have to undo it every time. Maybe there's another door... It just doesn't make sense otherwise.Last edited by MoonCat; 2011-09-12 at 10:38 PM.

Re: [4e] Random Banter Buddies DnD Campaign
"Maybe they just set it up, thanks to that Eladrin that slipped our grasp Bast" Teodor laughs, ruffling her hair a bit (assuming this is something he would do. Absolmorph come baaack D:), as the party steps through the door!
As you enter the next room, you smell some rotten flesh mixed with the smell of blood. The first thing you see is that about half the room is divided into a pen for caged animals. Some of these animals, drake's specificly, are in there, as well as their handlers, a group of tieflings! With these tieflings are more then just drakes though. In this room are some undead, shackled with black collars!
I'll get the map in a moment guys, sorry to be a bother! Feel free to roll initiative though!Last edited by LaZodiac; 2011-09-12 at 10:44 PM.

Re: [4e] Random Banter Buddies DnD Campaign
Only one person has said so AFTER I made my point. you need to wait until we decide again, with the new point brought up! We haven't agreed to go through the door yet!
You may know exactly what's up, but we don't. In character we have no knowledge of what happens, and it may cost us our lives, if someone makes up a point and you don't listen to it, we could die, that's all we know in the game.Last edited by MoonCat; 2011-09-12 at 11:21 PM.

Re: [4e] Random Banter Buddies DnD Campaign
You and Juniper specificly said it was ok to continue, and Teodor is being played by me right now so he agreed to go as well. I admit, I was being a little unfair, assuming Mattos's silence was Carric saying it was ok to go, and Elden can retroactively do things if needed due to Teddy's wacky time zone.
Regardless, I am sorry for jumping the gun, but I think that what's done is done.

Re: [4e] Random Banter Buddies DnD Campaign
Two words: Deactivation mechanism. You can't see what's going on up there, so it's not unreasonable to believe there's a lever on the other side of that door. It's far too complex to have been set up in a matter of hours, though. Let's go.
Initiative: (1d20+3)[20] (I've finally learned to account for Teodor, by which I mean that he from now on will be a permanent temporary +1 bonus on my character sheet. )
My time zone is wacky? Excuse me, but You're the ones living on the wrong side of the Earth.Last edited by Teddy; 2011-09-13 at 07:44 AM.

Re: [4e] Random Banter Buddies DnD Campaign
It's called talking like a normal person. She quite clearly had some doubts, right after she paused. and Juniper didn't, he only said something afterwards. There was nothing except for you saying we should go through anyway.
That's ridiculous. At least consider Elden's post, and my response lower having been done before we breeze through the door.
So how do they go in? Knock? We should try that. Although that does pretty much guarantee one thing, there will be someone on the other side.Last edited by MoonCat; 2011-09-13 at 09:21 AM.
