Re: Gai-len [IC]
Offer we can't refuse indeed. But they don't need to risk it. Nala nods to Tralkor, and then briefly to Cor, not expecting and resistance from him. "We accept the quest if you would tell us a little more about the task. We need to know what the crown looks like, and what kind of city we will be searching for it in."
She had mentioned a human inhabitant. But that was hundreds of years ago. How long had it been since humans were last on this continent, outside the expeditions? The place could be deserted for all they know.Very awesome avatar by Derjuin.

Re: Gai-len [IC]
The lady produces a paper with on it a sketch:
"This is what it looks like. With the rare black rubies, it is rather unique." She gives you the sketch. "I can not tell you much about the city of Pandan. The name came to us through divinations. Nobody alive in our city has ever been there. From our library we learned that it is inhabited by many different species, species native to the underdark, but also those from the surface that fled to the underdark. I can not tell you where it is. Even if we knew, the information would not be very reliable: Many creatures down there create, destroy and alter routes, through magic and through physical force." She looks at you in a way as if apologizes for the lack of information. "You will encounter many creatures that are hostile, but opposed to what most surface-dwellers believe there are true societies down there. Alongside opposition, you will find places where you can get a bed, food and information and directions."Avatar by Recaiden

Re: Gai-len [IC]
"Do you mind if I keep this with me?" Nala asks, reaching for the paper. Something like that has to be one-of-a-kind, at least. Even if finding it in a city will be a nightmare. After finding the city itself. It isn't comforting to hear that the lady doesn't know exactly where the city is. But there can only be so many routes to try underground, right? Nala laughs inwardly at the naïve thought. That new spear's power will really come in handy down here.

Nala nods with barely any hesitation. "We do. And the sooner we get started, the better."

Re: Gai-len [IC]
The lady smiles and agrees: "Very well. One more thing, though. I can offer you the purchase of scrolls from our repository at a very reduced price." She stands up. "I suggest you go and have a good night's rest. Allow your Ogre to study spells appropriate for the trip and think hard on spells you might want to have access to. I have arranged for an escort to bring you to the node that allows you to travel into the Underdark first thing in the morning." She smiles again. "I have also arranged for three one-person rooms and a good meal at the inn you are checked in to. It has been paid for. Tell the innkeeper to send a messenger before the end of the day with any scroll wishes you have, and a librarian will deal with them."
She walks to the door and opens it for you. "The princess, may her mind dwell on divine matters for eternity, is very grateful for your cooperation. Oh, and don't forget your new equipment."Avatar by Recaiden

Re: Gai-len [IC]
Tralkor nods; he wholeheartedly agrees with Nala. For different reasons perhaps, but still, it would be nice to get out of this place.
Just one minor detail is bugging his mind... They're still missing a few partymembers... Tralkor turns to Nala. "Just need to pick up our ..." He hesitates for a second. "...belongings. At the inn. Then we're ready to go."
Thankfully the Drow-Elf Lady just suggested to go there as well. He doesn't really get her suggestion about selecting the right spells, but he makes a mental note to ponder a little more on that when they're back at the inn.
He slowly slides his hands across the table towards the boots and the pearl. "I ... eh ... think we can take these then. Thanks a bunch!"
He nods at the lady and moves towards the door, just waiting for Nala and Cor to come along.Last edited by maestrodesigns; 2013-03-03 at 05:32 PM.

Re: Gai-len [IC]
Scrolls? Nala thinks as she picks up the - her - new weapon and supplies. What do I look like, a librarian? I won't commit any records of my journey to paper. And my sketchy orcish handwriting would probably incriminate me, too.
She's surprised to hear that nice rooms have been reserved for them as well. They must have been pretty certain that we would accept. "We'll be ready first thing in the morning to set off."
She nods to Tralkor, "Let's be off, then."
Just barely arrived in this place, and leaving already...Very awesome avatar by Derjuin.
