Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2 (Now Voting: PC Races!)
You guys should do a poll for dominate magic type. And it shouldn't be limited to Divine and Arcane. There should be cool stuff, like Shadow Magic, and Truenaming, as well.
Just me two copper.

Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2 (Now Voting: PC Races!)
I love the animus, but it doesn't seem to need help.
eldren, because they seem so "dawn of time"-like
Protean, because I have always loved shape shifters.
Mygalos, they would add a good flavor to the world
Elves. It just fits-- and I want to see where they end up
Dwarves because not many of these races are easy to imagine mining
Gnomes just to see how fast we can spike their statistics

Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2 (Now Voting: PC Races!)
Paraíso, elves, halflings, goblin(oid)s, dwarves, gnomes.
Gnomes, halflings, and goblins are because they'll be little savages!
Paraíso because I like flying (though you could just use raptoran stats).
Dwarves because they're master smithes.
Elves because they live in trees!Avatar of George the Dragon Slayer, from the upcoming Indivisible!

Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2 (Now Voting: PC Races!)
I vote for :
Arboreal, because plant people in a new, high magic, garden world just seems to make sense. Sentient plant-like beings would just be a natural concequence of High Magic meeting all those trees.
Lizardfolk, because I've always loved them and feel a lush, vibrant world just seems to fit them, particularly if there are swamps or jungles (maybe because of warhammer's influence).
Paraíso, because multicolored bird-man would be cool, awesome and very different then most of the other standard races in other settings. Did I mention they would be awesome ?
Eldren, simply because feys do seem to have their place in a forest world, and I would prefer something different than your generic tree-hugging elves.
Orc, it may seem an odd choice, but I think that orcs are a very underrated race that deserves a place in the light. They would need reworking, but I think they would make a great spiritual, tribal society.
Gnomes, mostly because I had to vote for a sixth race, and I do love gnomes (or kobolds, I like kobolds to). It would also add a small race.

Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2 (Now Voting: PC Races!)
Tallied up!
Wow, things are shifting here. Looks like a few pity-votes in the Gnome bin.
I think it's safe to say that, regardless of status as a PC race, there's a certain vote threshold here where we can likely assume that race will still show up in the setting in some context.Last edited by afroakuma; 2011-06-22 at 05:33 PM.

Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2 (Now Voting: PC Races!)
Future Psychic ACF
Spoiler
The mind is a creation and foresight. The psion that spontaneously throws up a defensive psionic shield has just as much foresight as a wizard who spends his time planning years into the future. Yet there are some that follow the path of studying and psionic talent, and they are just as formidable as a psion or wizard. This ACF allows psions to prepare their powers, allocating points as per normal psions. The future psychic gives up spontaneous casting and receives twice the Intelligence bonus for bonus PP, and gains class PP as though he were one level higher. Instead of knowing powers, he gleans the descriptions and instructions of a power from his psycrystal. He may prepare X powers per day at 1st level, etc.

Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2 (Now Voting: PC Races!)
At the moment, I'm tired of elves, gnomes, halflings, orcs, and especially dwarves. Goblins less so; but I probably still won't vote for them, as there are too many awesome alternatives.
Psychadelic birdmen = win. Paraiso get my first vote.
To lend some support to races that already exist, Centaurs and Troglodytes for some reason are feeling perfect for this world.
Now I'm ok with throwing my other three votes to the unique, new ideas we're being presented with. Problem is, some of them sound cool but are too similar to each other.
Arboreal is a shoe-in, although it could use a re-name. But I love the idea of a vine-like PC race.
Arthrons and Mygalos both sound awesome, but I'm not sure I'd want both of them. I'll go with Mygalos, because the setting needs a good unique Small character race.
Animus, Niedla, and Protean all sound interesting, but again, there's only so far I want the "spirit PC" archetype to be taken. I'll vote with Niedla, but I might change my vote if it looks like we're in danger of getting both Animus and Niedla in lieu of some other cool option.
Eldren ... no thanks. The other options here are already plenty "strange," and fey in a genesis world just isn't grabbing me.You can call me Draz.

Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2 (Now Voting: PC Races!)
I for one don't want to see any of the standard races represented here. This is a brand new world being formed, and a pretty distinct one. Why does it need to have the same races every other setting has?
(Except Halflings. Jungle-Halflings could totally work.)
As such:
Animus - Because, well, neat.
Arboreal - This is a garden world. A plant-race is obligatory.
Paraíso - Colourful tribes of bird-people? Sure! I'd've also liked these guys if we'd gone Cliffworld.
Mygalos - Spider-people? Giant webs stretching several metres between trees, and people stumbling into them and getting eaten? Yes, please.
Niebla - If we've got bird-people, we might as well have cloud-people as well.
Halflings - Preferably heavily reworked. Feral jungle-halflings with prehensile feet, or something. Favoured Class Barbarian.

Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2 (Now Voting: PC Races!)
Hmmmm, Genesis-Garden-Vey High Magic, let me see...
Mygalo, Arboreal, Protean, Eldren, Niebla and Goblins.
I think staying away from the standard non-human races is good, but I can't resist primeval goblins.
Also, I'd like Eldren to get another name, but considering who is on the Build Team, I know they'll be getting good treatment.Avatar by Derjuin. It's awesome.
