... hey wait a second. I just figured out something about Luna vs Progress.

The fic's premise is that Luna is lost in time, more or less, and feels awkward. Modern technology perplexes her in many ways, as do modern social mores.

And yet, she's portrayed as constantly creating wonders of legislation and reform.

You'd think that some of her proposals should occasionally run afoul of her antiquated technological assumptions.

Why would ponies develop conventional guns if they have to use their mouths to use them? Normally I let crossover fics slide because that's inherited from the non-pony media. But really, there's no reason why you would want to cut your primary way of communication when you can just strap that gun to your side and make it three times either. Also, the entire point of small arms is to conceal it. When you have to turn around to reach from your dress to grab a firearm, you'd probably be shot or your target would escape.

So, talking with someone about my NCIS/Pony crossover idea, feel free to take it and run because I'll never be able to write anything I'll be happy with, and they posted the Abby-Pony, which lead into discussion about what cutie mark they'd each have.

Gibbs: Mareine Corp's symbol with a pair of handcuffs, he was an MP after all.
Denozo: Police Badge with a pair of Sunglasses at the bottom, and a pair of panties dangling over the corner of the badge.
McGee: A computer
Ducky: A scalpel
Abby: I think this is pretty spot on for her's, maybe give the bat a smile.

Palmer, Zeeva, Kate and the Directors, I'm not sure on though.

I'm also not sure if I'd rather them have always been ponies, or the normal cast some how turned into ponies. On one hoof, there's nothing in NCIS that could turn someone into a pony, but on the other hoof, I kind of want a timer to see how long it takes Denozo to make a joke about horses and size...

- Actually, if the moon is like in real life, the moon is either cold, or blisteringly hot, as I understand it. Unless Luna made sure to move around it, staying in the "comfortable" zone as the moon rotated.

- "Life is really surprising sometimes." Tense shift- was.

- I'd give the guards a reason to be spoil sports. Like, mention decorum, or the skipping is echoing loudly, etc.

- "They soon reached the first destination on her list of stops" Kinda clunky. I'd make it"they soon reached their first stop."

- “Your Highness? If I may be so bold to ask, but could you please keep your hooves on the ground?” delete the would but.

- "and a small pedastel" pedestal

Chapter 2

- Hee hee, bureaucracy jokes.

- "One-by-one it is then." One on one it was then.

- "She took a few deep breaths. Relax. It’s just a single group. You can always come back to this one later." This scene has a few of these, along with the one by one. I realize now that some of them are suppose to be Luna's internal monologue. Either rephrase it so it's 3rd person, or italicize the thoughts.

Overall: Not sure what to think. Luna fics are an interesting beast, but they have a tendency to hit similar notes. This one is on the sad Luna side of things. However, what you capture here is her dealing with ponies who aren't meaning to set her off. And she's having to deal with the bitterness and fight it down.

I enjoyed this bit. Your potrayal of Luna seemed perfectly reasonable, though a little on the sad side.

I'll have to admit, her sudden inability to raise the stars was felt a little forced. Maybe some more hints before this? It works as a plot mover, but it seemed to come out of the left field.

Really? The way I heard that story, a bunch of Wizards built a silver ladder to climb to Heaven and make themselves gods, but when they got there all they found was a cute little baby Unicorn, which they decided was good enough so they took it home and raised it.
