Remember when I said I'm in it for the Minds? A by product of that is that I spend a huge amount of time thinking about how crazy people think.

Sometimes, though, thinking isn't enough and I have to go and find crazy people and ask them what it's like. Most of the time, they're not helpful, and they rave and spit at me, which is really disappointing. Because I want to be able to speak their language, tell their story to the world, get people to look at these poor, misguided souls as more than just street trash, you know? Get people to sympathise when a madman walks by. To understand how just a very small change in their thought process could disconnect them from reality. And I try to explain to the crazy people what I'm trying to do for them, but they won't listen. And it hurts me so bad. They never listen. They never, ever, listen. No matter what I do. But it's okay, because they're only not listening because they're so hungry, being on the streets, the poor souls. Downtrodden. Forgotten by society. A danger to themselves and others for something that's not their fault. It's my civic duty, really. I've never told anyone about it, it's not like I need praise or fame for what I do. I'm just helping them out, being a good Samaritan, lending a helping hand. And when I go down into the basement and I see my friends, I can't help but smile. Because they're so poor and thin and sick, too weak to even chew through the ropes. But I'm going to make them better. I'm going to feed and clothe them and then, when they don't have any distractions, they can tell me how their minds work. And I'll finally be able to write that piece. And the world will finally understand.

It's going to be the best thing ever.
