Re: Playground Squares XI: And here we go again!
Well, considering the fact that we were down for a week, one would think I would be excused for not remembering the exact wording of the question.
You'd think I'd get a new question instead of losing on a technicality.
I'd rather lose because I'm stupid than because of a technicality.

Re: Playground Squares XI: And here we go again!
...I'm gonna give that one to Felandria, because I thought it was right in the first place.
Next time, Count, answer the actual question instead of making it into a different question.

Re: Playground Squares XI: And here we go again!
I'll agree with this. Kept misreading choboco as chocobo (dylsexia helps) and couldn't see how it was wrong til reading over and over. Legit deception there.
For mine, answered 1 post down from question, so not difficult to just read question and never said question was answering, wrong or otherwise, in answer. Part of game is in deceit and wording to imply truth when speaking wrong (or vice versa) is legit. Was given correct answer as 255th level which wasn't my answer. So how'm I wrong?
Sorry but assumed was allowed in game. Sorry if caught more people than intended.

Re: Playground Squares XI: And here we go again!
As much as I enjoy discussion of the question and answer...
So, do we need to have someone else ask the question for Penguinator to answer? (I mean, I don't think he can ask himself a question (well, he could, I suppose...), at least not in the sense that would work for the game)Avatar by FinnLassie

Re: Playground Squares XI: And here we go again!
Did someone cast "Summon Llama?" Sorry, everybody. I've been avoiding the computer because my roommate has a "friend" coming over on Friday and we're trying to get the apartment cleaned up!
Hmmmmm..... so we need a slithery question. I can do that. Lets see....
When it comes to slithering, NOT Slytherin, no one knows more about it than snakes, and when we think of snakes, we think of Kaa.....well...I do, you may have other more snakes, like the one for Resident Evil, but err..where was I? Oh right, Kaa was voiced by Sterling Holloway in the original Jungle Book movie produced by Disney. He was featured in many Disney movies actually, including providing the voice for Winnie The Pooh! He is less known for his voice work in Lambert the Sheepish Lion, but he did do some voicework in this movie. Who's voice did Sterling Holloway provide in the cartoon Lambert the Sheepish Lion?

Re: Playground Squares XI: And here we go again!
...Actually, we need a ruling on the previous question. Since you're the actual host, it makes sense that you would decide.
Funny, I always think of Jim Cummings as Pooh, probably because he's been the voice of Pooh (and Tigger) as long as I've been alive. (Though, that didn't prevent my first "Hey, it's that voice" from being Holloway as both Pooh and Roquefort in Aristocats). As for the question... I've seen Lambert, and I don't remember a lot of talking, so I'm guessing Holloway must have been the narrator.Last edited by Penguinator; 2013-05-04 at 02:31 PM.

Re: Playground Squares XI: And here we go again!
DING
That is correct! He also provided the voice of the stork!
Actually, I'm not the host. Bookman is the host. I'm the guest host, but I did talk to the boss and his response was "Wow. That game is still going. Cool."
Sadly, he wasn't much help to solving the problem. Anyway, honestly, its best if these things are resolved by the players if possible. We don't have judges, we don't have prizes, we don't even have the Congratulation Cake and Consolation cookie that Miss E. made for us back in theday anymore. Playground Squares is a rather silly game and that's all it should be, so if the players can resolve a situation amongst themselves, so much the better for everyone.inner circle Legionary of Resiliance

Re: Playground Squares XI: And here we go again!
Atreyu is so modest. He is, of course, a host. And a really great host at that. But there we have the final answer to the previous dispute. I'm fine with Felandria keeping the square, she's obviously fine with keeping it. Felandria keeps Count Dingdong's square. And I gain Penguinator's.
So now she can choose Bushranger, and one of the four remaining categories.
Categories
A) Attacks ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
B) Are you Listerine?
D) Pantomime Horse
E) This is your mother!

Re: Playground Squares XI: And here we go again!
But there are already categories...
It's more exciting to have it come down to the last square than to say Lex just won, as well.
Pantomime horses have been used in Monty Python's Flying Circus in a number of sketches. In one, a secret agent pantomime horse is shown riding a real horse. In another, two pantomime horses fight to the death to keep their job(s). In the life or death struggles, there are two other pantomime figures shown. One is a pantomime goose. Bushranger, what pantomime royal person appears in a "life or death struggle?"

Re: Playground Squares XI: And here we go again!
But if I'm riding a pantomime horse, who's following along behind me with the coconuts? Perhaps it was Princess Margaret?

Re: Playground Squares XI: And here we go again!
I hope the fact that the announcer never uses the words life or death struggle in reference to her isn't some kind of trick.
Otherwise, I agree

I have no idea, and as much as I"d love to rewatch all the episodes looking for that one, maybe we should wait on the Penguinator.

It was indeed Pantomime Princess Margaret. I'm in an airport right now, so someone else can start on the next board.

Re: Playground Squares XI: And here we go again!
We need 2 new Contestants and 9 new Squares.
It has been pointed out to me that posting to be on the waiting list may discourage new players from joining. So I ask that the Current Squares and Contestants wait 24 hours before posting their interest to be in the next game. Thank you.
Exception: If a Square isn't asked a question in the course of the game, they are allowed to forego the 24 hour waiting period.
Tom the Mime doesn't have to wait.

We don't typically give prizes. However, you can express a preference for a particular square. If multiple people express the same preference, the one who spoke first gets it.
Anyway, I'm down to take a square.*
