Okay I don't have my ruler this time, so I measured the line in pixels.

Pinkie: 31
Gilda: 38

Difference: 7 pixels.

Recall my number is 28 inches for a pony at the shoulder.

38/31 = 1.23 (ratio of Gilda Height to Pinkie Height)
1.23 * 28 inches = 34.32 inches.

This doesn't account for her lankiness, though, but I have homework and alls I got is "at the shoulder" estimates. It makes her ever so slightly taller than Big Macintosh.

Ok, so from your screen cap stuff, I'm guessing that Gilda isn't really that much "taller" than the ponies (could have sworn she was relatively huge... Must have been when sitting) but she is lover than them by anywhere from 30-50 % From pecs to plot.

How would that translate across... I think I'll go for lank over bulk where possible. Lions are cats, cats are known for being rather lithe, so it fits there. Wait, she wouldnt have any lion, just pony and eagle. Hm. Magical crossbreeds are haaard.

Still, horses tend to be pretty muscular. In pretty much the same way as Gilda, too. So I should be ok if I can wing it... I'll still have To go home and wath it again to see how a griffon's wings work when closed. See if I canfins my meter stick, and try to measure my screen if anything good shows up.

My take on Derpy in my continuity is kinda split.

In ... And Apple Accessories, Derpy was kind of the gibberish-spouting meme pony. However, she knew things that other ponies didn't, implying that her gibberish wasn't entirely gibberish.

In Fair Feather Friend, she's a pretty normal mare who loves her daughter, works hard and has problems with the gibberish spouting only when she's under stress (with implications of years of speech therapy).

My workaround for this (everything in my fics is in continuity with the others, even my 300 word contest entry Bueno, which is about Trixie's adventures in La Nacion de las Mulas) is that in ... And Apple Accessories, she was putting on a show for the little ponies, and once she was in word salad mode, she wasn't able to get out easily and just had to roll with it. She probably was really embarrassed afterwards about calling Fluttershy Butterguy. The poor pony has enough self consciousness about her weight.

She possibly dropped off an apology muffin for Fluttershy.

Fluttershy: I LOOOOOOVE muffins. But I can't eat them 'cause then I'll get fat. But they're SOOOOOO GOOOOOD.
