"Darn, I really want to know how to get rid of the buggers."

Rot frowns.

"It's that one thing in the AMEN base. You know, with the threads and the eyeballs and mouths that appear everywhere that set you on fire?"

The vampire shudders at the thought. His worst enemy!

"I did wake up a Shoggath once by throwing rocks at it, but I didn't stick around to be eaten or try to fight it."

[Haruki-kun]

"Not the same thing. And yes, I know the one in AMEN. Blech. But unfortunately AMEN kinda doesn't want me in there so much anymore. They've gone kinda serious and I'd be cramping their style. I don't even have a home anymore... I just sorta deadtime anywhere."

He sounds a bit sad.

[VampireRot]

"What? That's not true!"

Rot looks outraged!

"You're a true AMENite, 'Ruki! You're our Token Good Teammate! You can't have a good evil organization without a black, er, white, sheep for foil and comic relief! This is the Nexus, no place is too serious for frivolity!"

[Haruki-kun]

"o.O" says Haruki. "Really? But... how? I mean... for starters you have all those guys who wouldn't want me there, one of them would even try to eat me, and that's no fun at all. And.... well, if they try anything against the government guys I can't participate either. I'd have to stop you. And.... well, there's the issue of you guys having an actual leader now. He wouldn't want me there... and... and....................

.......really? But my player would have like three characters in there already...."

[VampireRot]

Rot shakes his finger.

"No buts. I mean, look at Magtok. He's hardly even a villain anymore, and he's still one of the, if not the best known AMENite. No one would try to eat you, the non-participation and stopping is part of the hilarity, and I don't think Gordon would do that."

The vampire nods his head knowingly. I wonder if the fact that his bloodlust is repressed by the tranquility field is effecting his thinking.

How admirable of you. Tony keeps any other thoughts he may have concealed beneath a polite smile.

[Haruki-kun]

"....wow... I...... Thanks! I'll... I'll consider it! Going back to AMEN... that would be awesome! Even if my player's other characters would..."

[VampireRot]

"Yeah."

Rot nods and smiles. He rips into his sun cake again. He's rather... violent with the poor confectionery, isn't he?

[Reinholdt]

"Were you there for Nomos' arrival?" Saul asks.

[FireFox]

His... arrival? The bishop shakes his head, looking confused. The Gods have been on my world long before the first humans. And my church has existed for over a thousand years.

[Reinholdt]

"That'd be a no then." Saul sips his tea. He's not horribly surprised. It was usually the case after all.

[Haruki-kun]

"Hey, Rot? Can I ask you something?" He only says it out of politness, he doesn't actually wait.

"There's lots of different types of vampires. Some are 'born' vampire, not sure if that's the case with you.... do you remember anything about before you turned? Or... How you turned?"

[VampireRot]

"Yeah."

Rot tilts his head. Hm... Interesting question.

"Oh, I can't really remember my life before I was turned. It's been so long. But I do know that I was a regular mortal human."

Rot shrugs. A thousand-ish years of tortured existence does a number on your memory.

"As for how my type of vampire is turned, usually another vampire just sucks out most of the person's blood and then replaces it with some of their own."

[Haruki-kun]

"Huh. So you're a classic vampire. Interesting. Tell me... did you ever wish you hadn't been turned?"

Haruki's interested.

[VampireRot]

"Hell yeah. Loads of times. Like when I'm on fire or something, or can't seem to find any people to eat and get really hungry. Or even when I'm just feeling philosophical."

Rot shrugs.

"But there's no going back now. I'm bad to the bone and destined for hell, so I'm going to cling to this existence for as long as I can."

[Haruki-kun]

"Murr... I seem to make friends with a lot of people like you. Come to think of it, why is this place so full of that? Aren't there any Chaotic Good people left in the world?"

[VampireRot]

"Huh. You know, I don't even think most people go by those alignments anymore. It's all "complicated motivations" this and "realistic actions" that."

Rot rolls his eyes. People these days.

"I'm sure there are people who share your views somewhere, though. You just have to find them."

[Haruki-kun]

"I wasn't aware I had views. And there's nothing realistic about those people's actions. I personally think they're still stained by player decisions. Everything is," he adds.

[VampireRot]

"Of course. But that's the beauty of this place, really."

Rot smiles. Then frowns.

"I feel like I should be drinking something, heavily. It's too bad alcohol doesn't really work on me anymore."

[Haruki-kun]

"Hmmm.... there's gotta be something that can get vampires drunk. Maybe we can come up with something. Any thoughts?"

[VampireRot]

"The blood of a very drunk person?"

Rot shrugs.

"I'm sure some wizard has invented alcohol for the undead. Wizards invent silly stuff like that all the time. But I don't think they'd serve it in a tea shop..."

[Haruki-kun]

".....OK, Rot. I'll make you a promise. I'll find something that gets you really, REALLY drunk and I'll bring it over to your place. Or well... AMEN. And then we'll have a nice night drinking, OK? Cuz we're friends, right?"

Rot grins.

"That sounds like a plan, friend."

He then peers at Haruki.

"Wait, can angels get drunk on normal alcohol? Or do you need a special magic drink too?"

[Haruki-kun]

Rot grins.

"That sounds like a plan, friend."

He then peers at Haruki.

"Uh.... I don't know. It's never happened on screen. I have no idea why. But I think we can. Maybe we just have way too high of an alcohol resistance."

[VampireRot]

"Well, I guess there's only one way to find out."

Rot slouches back in his seat and grins again.

Hmmm...

It would seem the energetic (if hungry) youth has stumbled into a heap of stasis.

How tragic.

Refuge continues nomming his food in as dignified a fashion as a cat-sized dragon can manage. But despite his best efforts it still comes off as acutely adorable.

This troubles him greatly.

But alas there's little Refuge can do about it.

Whilst nomming he turns his attention to the tea house at large. See who's awake.

Dorota is still sitting by her table, reading a book and sipping on black tea. She's definetly awake, if not particularily aware of her surroundings.

Hmm...

That looks like a people to talk with!

Refuge is still rather behind on what has happened in the Nexus during the absence of he and his siblings. So may as well find out, right?

He departs the bar with a nod to the youth and approaches the alchemist.

His food hovers behind him on a hexagonal panel of red marble. How it remains suspended in mid-air like that isn't readily apparent. Upon reaching Dorota's table he'll offer her a slight nod and inquires, "Would you be adverse to company, my lady?"

He sounds very proper. Or at least he tries to.

Though his squeaky little voice works against him!

Dorota looks down at the wyrmling and blinks. No, not at all. The little lizard is kind of cute.

Yay for company!

Refuge's plate settles down on the table as the wyrmling parks himself on top of a chair. Hmm... This leaves him well below the table... That simply won't do.

The chair's legs then... grow?

The process actually looks rather odd, as if dozens of little metal slips were extending from the base middle of the legs before resolving into more wood. Within a few moments the chair has grown to an acceptable height for the wyrmling to use!

Yay.

"Thank you, my lady," Refuge replies cordially. "It has been some times since I last visited the Nexus. I am uncertain if customs have changed since my departure."
