{Nexus} GLoG LXXIV: Back to the Numerals!

Everyone always forgets about the NPC Nurse. Just because she's a ghost and has a terrible bedside manner doesn't mean she can't give stitches!

I'm guessing Reinholdt is scared of Nurse Piper.

So as he's working on his own wound, she'll show up and do a way better job! Yay!

It's going to be hard to not accidentally rip those stitches though, every time Reinholdt's ears flick around.

"You're going to accidentally rip those stitches when you flick your ears. I'd better inject you with something to numb the area so you can't do that," Nurse Piper says. "And no shapeshifting either."

Zero steps to the right to avoid the suit of armor's attack. At the same time he gathers blue sparks in his left hand, focuses them and then tries to send them flying towards the joints of the armor in an attempt to damage them.

Reinholdt opens his mouth to protest, but just sighs, knowing she's right.
"How long will I have to have them in?" That's his ear that's losing directional effectiveness here! Hearing is his best sense!

A week or two seems reasonable. I'm guessing.

"A week or two, depending on how how well you can do at keeping your ear from moving." Nurse Piper says. Or less time, if he runs into Quinn or Toby first. She gives him the injection. Unfortunately for Reinholdt, it barely hurts at all.

"Right. Anything I need to know about the injection? Won't interfere with like alcohol drinking and stuff right?" Reinholdt asks.
I highly doubt it, but it's important to ask.

He frowns as his ear goes numb. What a strange feeling. "And how often a day do I need to come in for this shot?"
Make whatever up. *nod nod*

"Twice a day for the shot. How many units of alcohol do you drink in a week." Nurse Piper asks.

Yeah Andy is still standing there and he has nothing to say. He is still looking sad, well a bit but he tries to cover it under a fake smile.

"Depends on how many I need." Reinholdt says, it often directly dependent on how depressed he is during the week.

"As a cat, you should drink no more than 3 units a week, and no more than half a unit in any one day." She hands him a leaflet on the health effects of drinking. "If you're getting more than that, then we should work on that."

[Reinholdt]

"What the hell is a unit anyways?" Reinholdt asks, taking the leaflet and briefly glancing through it.

Both Reelshka and Brinika are there, obviously. Reelshka is simply watching the ceremony as it unfolds while Brinika sticks to the other kids and is incredibly excited by all this.

Sophie is splashing her feet in the water, wondering just what she's supposed to do about Tobias and his hat. She's unlikely to be able to convince him, since Reinholdt failed to do so, and forcefully separating him from it isn't an option.

Kate Kyland returns, holding bags of clothes. Turn out you can get some good stuff for $53.25. Especially when you have an employee discount at Mag-Mart. It's not much, but it can help.

At a lack of other things to do, she sits down in the main cabin and tries to find a wireless signal on her laptop. Let's see if the Nexus internet is any good...

The leaflet will have the information here. "A unit is a standard 25 millilitre shot of spirits." Or in other words, less than Ermine gets in a single gulp. "You can consult the chart there to see a conversion for other forms of alcohol."

[Reinholdt]

"Right." Reinholdt fidgets awkwardly.
"I'll... see about that and stuff."

He frowns. Why was everyone suddenly so interested in his substance use?

But dang. While he's stuck as a cat, he would have to cut back and he knows it. It's so hard to switch mentalities of what he can handle. Shapeshifting did have its downsides after all.

"Thanks for the help and everything." He says, motioning to his ear before going to hop down.

"You're welcome," Nurse Piper says.

Unlike everyone else, she won't meddle when he's out of the infirmary. But she does write in his medical files: Counselled patient about alcohol use. Physician followup recommended.

Whether Quinn or Tobias actually will do such a thing is entirely up to them.

Quinn's too trusting and Tobias thinks he should be drinking more. So it's quite doubtful.

But before drinking, Reinholdt tends to go out to his rock to think.
I think thinking makes him depressed. He really should stop it. It's overrated.
Though this time, much of it is concentrated on that stitched up ear that won't move.

"...and so, if anybody wishes to charge in with a shotgun or using their lawyer-fu, now would be the time," Quinn declares.

Beaming widely, Emily giggles quietly at this.

His ear probably feels all huge too, like when your face feels all fat after the dentist.

[Pathfinder's Hut]

Renetta thanks Pathfinder and sets about finding the food. She doesn't take too much, despite wanting to. She returns, nibbling at some bread. Once she gets some food in her and some rest she'll be feeling great.

Andy is still outside and he is now trying to make this sanctuary and all inside invisible by letting the light pass it. It#s more of a training for him and the people inside wouldn't even notice it.

Andy will find that his attempt to turn the place invisible doesn't work as there's some protective force around the area. If he can sense such things, he'll find that it's more than one it seems...more like dozens, if not hundreds...

And all of them seem to be watching him.

Pathfinder's ears flick a bit as one of those nature spirits tell him about Andy still out there, but he doesn't say anything about it. "This place is yours now." He tells the newcomers with a slight smile. "We can start expanding the hut tomorrow."

Andy is still invisible himself since this kind of invisibility doesn't fade of when doein something. It's just a matter of concentration.

After all he has only a very low sense of magic, but the Natue spirits may notice that very near to Andy there is the presence of a force that maybe called enemy to the nature. A strong spirit of technologie.

Lewis is watching the events of the wedding with a grin and a police box on stand-by, his wings quivering with joy at being at a wedding.

Not that he hadn't been at other weddings, but celebrations are always fun!

Especially when you have the cutest stretchy kitten in the exus on your head.

Dani grins at Judy as she arrives. "Glad you could join us!" she chirps happily, admiring the assassin before stretching back out on her back in the sun.

"I thought it was." The imp says, his grin growing unnaturally large. "Whataya think, girly? Funny nuff for ya?"

Terrance turns to look...

And jumps! He's aware enough of himself that he won't step outside the boundary of the circle (even if he could), so that makes it a bit hard to stop drop and roll. Instead, he ends up patting his but, trying to put the flame out.

Until he realizes it isn't hot. Not hot = Illusion.

"Very funny." He says, completely unimpressed

"Oh..." Sarah says, looking at Terrance's 'burning' rump with a skeptical expression. Which soon breaks down in a mild giggle. "Yeah, funny enough. Umm, what else can you do?" Sarah asks the imp.

It feels so good.. Judy smiles. This water isn't magical or anything, is it?

But I'm probably wrong, my magic sense isn't the best.

Judy smiles. I didn't feel anything different either. It just felt so good. So relaxing.
