Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
So are the babies basically adults now? Thats really bizarre considering they had no character development. I was pretty sure the concept of Jake becoming a father would end badly. I don't know why they made Lady pregnant.
Did anyone else think something was being hinted when they said that the guide to parenting was wrong? Both Joshua and Margaret left holo tapes for their children and they both gave bad advice.Last edited by hobbitkniver; 2013-01-08 at 08:12 PM.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Well, this is one of those episodes that, I would think, is going to be referenced a season later in some major way. Didn't Jake have a older brother that showed up, like, once in a dream?
As for the corndogs, I did not expect them to hang around anyway. The unplanned pregnancy between two unmarried charecters was enough in my mind, and going through some growth spurt or another is okay, I suppose, considering that they were the results of a fifteen-feet long and a magical dog. I mean, who knows what crazy stuff could have gone down?
Hopefully, tho, Lady will start appearing reguarly again.
Also, on the lighter side of things:

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Yeah, for one episode of something that's been built up for like two months. Even before that Jake expected to at least have to learn about rainicorn culture for his kids's sake before they were even conceived. Which means that all his efforts and that foreshadowing was for nothing since Jake never got to apply anything he tried to read in Paper Pete. This means that not only was this episode disappointing for a lot of people, it effectively makes the conflict from a past episode entirely meaningless.
And then gets resolved offscreen by magic that was at best barely foreshadowed.
I mean, if Rainicorns growing up fast was a huge deal we might have expected it to have come up before now. I mean if nothing else Jake and Lady would have had a conversation, considering that it doesn't seem like the default method of aging in OOO and Lady, who lives in OOO, should know that. Even if he didn't, again, Jake has been making an effort to learn about rainicorns. Their base biology would factor into any society they had and he'd at least be aware of it in a vague sense within minutes of reading.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
They could have given sense to all of this, you're right, but doing so would have taken all the fun out of it. That Jake is just now learning all of that stuff at the end of the episode was the joke. Maybe you didn't think it was funny, but it's not like they made a mistake in not setting it up properly because they have no idea what they're doing.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Spoiler...
*laughs for 47 minutes straight*
It's like the creators tried to come up with the least likely to work together characters in the show and decided to throw them together.
But hey, no such thing as too much Lemongrab. This episode should be absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
SpoilerI am surprised they just didn't throw LSP in there, but I suppose Ward's vocal cords need rest and Shelby needs screentime anyway.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Oh that is just magnificent!
SpoilerShelby... is the worm that lives in Jake's viola, right?
In other news, got issue 1 of Fionna and Cake today.
SpoilerIt's not bad, but not great either. I guess the story's just picking up though.
The intro with the volcano girl was beautiful and sad.
Ice Queen seems a lot meaner and scarier than Ice King ever was.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I found Jake the Dad rather disappointing after all that build up, with a major hand wave at the end so
Spoilerthey could keep the dynamic duo and try and not make Jake seem like a deadbeat dad.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Ehh,
SpoilerIt would actualy have been weirder if Jake was a decent father. I mean, both of his parents were not very good at there jobs.
Also, I doubt that there gone gone. There going to have to turn up eventualy. Probably in a episode where, say, Lady gets sick with some magical flu and Jake has to somehow survive the general area of the Rainicorn crystal city or somesuch.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Oh,
SpoilerJake and Finns Mom and Dad weren't great, but they seemed to be fairly normal within the scope of weirdness of the show.
I agree that it is very likely the kids will show up again. This show thrives on introducing elements and then bringing them up again in a later episode.Last edited by Ravens_cry; 2013-01-15 at 06:07 AM.

It
SpoilerWas a good episode. Feels like it would not be out of place in Season 2/3, actualy.
However, Beemo was wonderful. "Like the devil" indeed.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Indeed.
To make this post worthwhile, some pictures. Which, of course, mostly means Ice King pictures.
SpoilerAhhhhh! Evil demon child! Creepy blue man! Scientific Parasite! Gah, close your mouth, Tiny Marcy!
Or: The creation of the Ice Kingdom.
Oh, Glob in the Sky!
"Sobs"
"inelgant blubbering"
"rocks gently in a corner"
A realistic Lich picture, to top off this very special "I Remember You" image dumpSpoiler
Also, something I just thought about: are the Ice King's eyes white because of cataracts? I would suppose the whole "wizard eye's" thing would cancel that out, but it makes sense.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
SpoilerI had a similar reaction to Beemo when Finn cut his hair off.
Beemo is the cutest damn thing ever. EVER.
Random thought: Beemo is like Finn and Jake's adopted son/daughter. Finn takes Beemo to soccer practice and now plays cops and robbers with it.
I love how Finn's little computer voice keeps coming back.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Lots of fun.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
That....was amazing. Lemongrab ate pie out a dead rats mouth, Shelby getting more lines than she has had for most of the series, the return of beardless Nice king, Beemo, and of course, Fionna and Cake!

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Watched new episode with dad and brothers. My dad remembers his characters getting into adventures like that. Now he wants to play old school D&D.
I am okay with this outcome.
On subject favorite moment.
Spoilerand Shelby who was supposed to be the bait.
