Re: Cibum clypeus Battlethread
Horroar thinks to himself how smart these goblins get all of a sudden, stepping out of melee to allow the ranged attackers better opportunity, and wonders just how many javelins each of these critters carry.
Never fear moving forward slowly, fear only standing still.

The leaping goblin surprised Heath a bit, but as he recovered, he swung down hard on it with his club.

Re: Cibum clypeus Battlethread
Prescott is hit by the goblin and taken aback. His neck hurts and his body sore from hitting the tree. However, he regains composure and hits the goblin back. As he does, the presence from before is felt again, giving his swing an extra bite to it. After attacking, Prescott moves back behind Heath.
SpoilerAttack with the douse the flames maneuver. If it hits, the goblin can't make AOO's in the next round. Also move back to G4.

Re: Cibum clypeus Battlethread
Prescott clubs the goblin that leapt down at him. He scores a solid hit, healing himself.
Horroar swings and misses the goblin in front of him, but spots the last goblin in a tree to the south.
Heath bashes the goblin that attacked Prescott down.
The goblin at F9 looks towards Heath and Prescott and limps slowly down to where Horroar is pulling out his morning star and readying his shield. He has the mad look in his eyes of last stands.
He swings at Horroar.

"Raarrgg!" I roar as I cut down the goblins in front of me.
I then move towards the goblin to the south (F14)
(assuming I killed the other two)

Re: Cibum clypeus Battlethread
Prescott can barely make out Horroar, his sword raised and dripping with goblin blood.
For Horroar:
Spoiler
The goblin in front of you drops his sword and shield, bows down and speaks you to in perfect Orc:
Please great and powerful being, be merciful! Make my death quick, far quicker than my masters!
(No need to roll to kill him, if you choose to do so.)
Combat is now over:

Re: Cibum clypeus Battlethread
For a moment I pause, surprised to see a strange creature like this.
Then instinct kicks in.
As the creature approaches I fly into a rage. When it comes close I step closer (F8) and swings my longsword at it.

Horroar's weapon passes through the creature as if he stabbed a campfire. His blade glows red for a moment and the creature calls out in pain. And then continues to laugh.

Re: Cibum clypeus Battlethread
Damn. I missed. Don't abandon me Heironeous.
Prescott glares at the goblin, taunting and snarling at him at the same time. While doing so, he changes his footwork ever so slightly.
Gathering his strength, Prescott makes another attack against the flaming goblin. He tries to batter aside the goblin's defenses, making it easier for his allies to attack.

Not wanting to give their opponent an opening, Heath did not let up on the attacks, Heath used the momentum he gained from his missed swing, spinning around for a wide-arcing blow down on the creature's back with his mace and following it up with his club.

Re: Cibum clypeus Battlethread
Horroar slices through the creature leaving a trail of blackened smoke behind. The creature stops laughing and expands rapidly until it is the same size and shape as Horroar. A sword of fire grows out of him palm to make a mirror image of the half orc facing him. The wet ground at his feet smolders. He calls out a few words to horroar and bares his Flaming teeth. The shape doesn't hold and it forms into a column of fire, medium sized.

Re: Cibum clypeus Battlethread
Heath was starting to get anxious at his incompetence. But he did not let up; he did not know how dangerous this one is, so taking it down before it did something was the only logical choice. "Don't let up! Don't give it an opening!" he shouted before another flurry of attacks.

Re: Cibum clypeus Battlethread
What if He is dead? No, stay calm. It's a new enemy, it makes sense if you have to adjust, Prescott thought after he had missed the goblin twice.
Prescott swung his mace again, this time trying to look incredibly confident. He hoped Heath and Horroar would take note and have a similar morale boost.

Re: Cibum clypeus Battlethread
Heath, Horroar and Prescott all stab at the thing, and it expands again to the size of a small giant.
At the center of the creature a small collumn of black smoke forms. It expands until the swirling creature if filled with smoke. Soon it is nothing but smoke, and then it is nothing.

Re: Cibum clypeus Battlethread
Heath stepped back a bit as the creature expanded and turned to smoke. He fanned a bit of the smoke that went his direction with his hands, coughing up a bit. "Is everyone alright?"
