"I see. That will be all, Fade. Please give me a status update the next time you feel it is needed." The Operative stands as well, and heads out of his office, looking for the other members who are pursuing a contract.

Fade doesn't move to the entrace instead he casts a spell and adoor will appear on an empty wall.

"Don't worry just something I also noted by visitin Trog's. We should look for something to refuse such actions, I may have something that could be able to secure one room , but wwe really need a teleport blocker."

He will then if not other stoped got through the portal he created.

[The Operative's Office]

The Operative notes Fade's words as he leaves. While a dimension lock was on his plans, he wasn't made of money, and he didn't know anyone who could make such a lock. So, such things had to be on the backburner.

[Somewhere in the base while the Operative searches]

Fade seems to be in a hurry rushing to the Operativ.

"I just remembered something. Riv was the guy leading the championship. He took blood samples there. Where is the blood mage?"

(thought she told that befor) So Fade goes on searching for her.

[Rec Room] - Since the Operative thinks that most members spend their free time here.

"I am not aware of Ms. Bloodchanter's location."

I don't see any reason why he wouldn't be, though. She's just sleeping...

Fade starts thinking.

"Thats sad. I got something I would ask her/him. The fact that the rooms secret doesn t help."

Wasn t she female? Seems like this is gender change Nr 3 i made this week.

I don't know any guys named Sarah, Zefir.

"I'm sure Ms. Bloodchanter will show up before long, Fade. Also, the locations of members' rooms are not secret, unless that member goes to pains to keep it so." The Operative looks around in the rec room. He wonders at any improvements he can make to help morale.

[Outside Sarah's Room]

Dressed and ready for the next day as an assassin/black ops agent! Hooray!

With any luck, Rael's backup plan would work and this silly game of charades could end...


In any case, Sarah is probably visible to the Operative's Psychic Powers now.

The Operative does sense Sarah's presence now. "She's on premises. Go ahead and speak to her, Fade. One question, though: do you have any ideas on improving our defenses?"

Fade thinks a moment.

"Indeed. I resarched something called Story Cyrcle. It's a bane cyrcle able to memorizize people who should not be blocked by them. Sadyl I don't have one ingredient. Stardust."

[Devixer]

"Interesting." The Operative pauses. "Could you tell me what this Story Circle do those that are blocked by it?"

[Zefir]

[Rec Room]

"For most things it will work as a grounding works for electricity just with magic. I'm not 100% sure, but if they try to teleport out they will be ragged apart, mainly a part of them remains here and the other one in the position they wanted to go. The books I read didn't really clear that, mainly cause they miss test subjects."

Fade tells that emotionless as ever. This man really need an advanced training with emotions.

"But Stardust seems to be quiet rare. this could be a reason why this thing is so powerful."

The Operative considers for a few seconds. It seemed a bit unneccesary, but things like that always did. "I will consider it, Fade. In the meantime, I will get opinions from other members."

The Bar

A Sailor swerves drunkenly into the barfront and collapses heavily onto a stool, falling unconciousness momentarily. When he comes to he grumbles up at the bartender without raising his head.

Heard about this place awhile back, they been sayin its the place to go if'n ye need somethin' done, so I'm here aren't I? Gimme a large mug of "The Drink", and a bucket besides aright?

[The Front]

John looks at the sailor with a discerning eye. He produces the drink required, and a bucket as well. "I think you want to sober up before you try and do anything."

If only!

He raises the mug to his lips and quaffs it down in one go, swishes it about, then immediately heaves it into the bucket provided. He then straightens with a sigh

Nothin' for it but to do it then, les' go.

He gets up from his stool and waves his arm generally in a "come on" manner.

[The Front]

John just rolls his eyes as he leads the sailor to the elevator that leads to MURDER proper.

He enters the elevator without ceremony. On the way down he'll drop his disguise and switch a new one, A petit girl in a sundress exits the elevator, smiling cheerily at the receptionist.

Hi there Ms. Nice-Lady, can you dial nine for me? I'd like to speak to Mr. Operator if you could do that for me it would really be great!

She waves enthusiasticly, however the voice that comes out of her is still that of the sailor from up above, and the dichotomy should unsettle her, possibly.

Jane actually isn't unsettled. She's spoken to devils at this point, someone with a weird voice isn't going to faze her. All she says is "You here for a membership or a contract?"

[Slii Arhem]

Both! Possibly, hopefully, maybe?

Her smile grows ever wider, stretching her face impossibly, corners of her mouth ending just below her eyelids in a frozen grin.

Jane doesn't respond to the very impossible smile, and points the shapeshifter (at least, that's the vibe I'm getting,) to the Operative's office.

She walks through the door (assuming thats possible) and plonks herself down in the nearest chair, not even looking at the operative.

Her teeth creak open, revealing a glaring white light behind them, and her head unhinges, tilts forward, and vomits her brain onto the floor scant inches away from his desk. Then she dissapates into nothing, and the glowing brain floats over to where she sat.

Right, enough theatrics, let's get down to business.

She'll have to open the door, but yeah, it's possible.

The Operative watches this spectacle, being even less reactive than Jane. He is attempting to read the brain's brain, to get its name.

"Yes. I'm told you hope for a membership and a contract."

Ha, fair try and all, but being little more than an image painted on reality be sheer force of personality does come with its perks. No mental map for you.

A contract now, we'll see about the rest if this pans out. From what I hear this isn't typical of what you folks do, but I'm running out of options here, so here goes. As you must be well aware, ethereals such as we don't really get to appreciate the finer things in life as do those of the fleshier variety. Now it may not bother you so much, but I think it's a damn shame, and I'm willing to rectify that. The way I figure it is, if a magic weapon can harm me, magic food, or drink, or anything, might be edible in some way. Here's where your fine organization comes in. You find me a magic chef, or someone able to do research in such a field. I don't care what after that, capture them, heck make a job offer even, but I need them ammenable to my way of thinking. In exchange...

From inside his frontal lobe a jar floats over to the Operative's desk, and settles gently. In the bottom there is a miniscule amount of shimmering silver liquid. As it sloshes up the sides of the jar, it turns transparent intermittently.

Well, in exchange all I have is Time.

The Operative continues to stare at the brain. "You want us to capture some sort of chef that does research into ethereal foods. I believe that can be done. I do, however, request that you elaborate more on your proposed payment."

Oh you're gonna love this. This stuff is liquid time, pour it on an object, and it's immortal, pour it on a person, and they're stuck, frozen in time. Get enough of it together in one place and it disrupts psions like you and me, don't think I didn't notice that little probe by the way, and here I am, offering you enough that you could practically paint your entire establishment with it. I've had years to accumulate this gunk, decades, I don't know, and you do this for me and I'll give you access to the whole shebang. Heck, so long as you keep what I'm after here and in working condition, you can have my services to boot, free of charge.

As he's making his pitch, the head of a sleazy salesman forms around him, smirking as if to say, "See how I deliver for you?"

If the Operative has an emotional reaction to his psionics being discovered (which he didn't,) it'd be hard to see through his gas mask. He views capturing a chef for Time as acceptable. "Can you have what you're after in a separate location? I'd rather not waste our admittedly low resources on a glorified prisoner."

Fair's fair I guess. Now, payment up front is key am I correct? I have the gunk stored in a cave outside the Nexus, port to it is in a port-a-john I stashed by the front door of the bar under a nifty little mental field I picked up. I'll key you in and lug the thing down here so you can have unlimited access. And since I'm offering you my services pending successful completion, I might as well do whatever's needed to snag a membership, yeah?
