On the topic of pony clothes, I'm more intrigued by the fact that we've never seen a pony wearing pants. (The wonderbolts' flight suits don't count, as they appear to be one-piece)

Maybe they'd be hard to put on? After all, as much of an unnatural movement range (for a horse) as the ponies have with their front legs, they can't exactly put their back legs straight up.

There's also the question of tails. Pants present several...logistical problems with that.

On ponies = candy: If sweets are the bread and butter of a pony diet, then what makes up desserts? Fruits and veggies?

There is the one tennis pony with the stache in Call of the Cutie. He was wearing shorts.

As for the rest of the conversation, my opinion is naked=casual clothes and anything else is function, fashion, or occaision.

Random idea for a story. This is on the list of ones I won't write, so if anyone wants to start off here, go for it.

Celestia has had her eyes on Guardopolis for years, but has always been afraid to make the first move, since she thinks he might be scared off by her. So she's been playing the long game.

Then she finds out that he's been carrying on with Luna since about a month after she came back. She asks around and finds that he'd apparently been aware of her interest in him, but had found her unapproachable (like, via a palace spy/gossip).

How does Celestia deal with the fact that he found SOMEPONY WHO TURNED INTO FREAKING NIGHTMARE MOON more approachable?

Like another poster said, I can totally see this going Greek myth-style. Celestia decides that she wants to find love without the weight of her office weighing things down, so she does a shapeshifting thing to make herself more normal-pony-like. Then cue hijinks as she tries to keep her love interest from finding out, or Luna from blackmailing her, or something...

I forgot to say something earlier, though! Try addition eyelids, higher on the outside than on the inside of the eye. It will add smugness with just a bit of color change. You'll have to get the angle just right, though, or it will look weird with the otherwise-sad looking eyebrows

Mostly it was a passing intellectual concern. I know at least the majority of the background around your distaste of Show!Trixie, even if I don't agree with it all (she's my favorite sort of villain, like a pony version of Robert Angier). It's just more, seeing that distaste manifest so strongly, I extrapolated and worried what that wrath would look like turned upon Shimmer.

I also know you're a nice guy and wouldn't do anything like that. But for a moment I became seared by the fury of your burn, and it kinda scared me. Nothing more.
