For some (plot-related) reason, Lemongrass was now standing around in the guardhouse, having spent the whole day in the North Gate with Dreamrunner. He raised an eyebrow as the griffon landed next to him.

"Sir? What do you think-" he stopped when he saw the gash on his leg. "Right. Medic!" he yelled, in the direction of the infirmary. "Let's get you some help..." he said, nudging the griffon towards the building.

The griffon shakes his head. "I have no money to pay for treatment." One of the unfortunate side effects. Even if he had money when he left, he would have any... what are those... bites... bytes... bits! Not important, even with the ground by his leg becoming more red.

"I need to speak to your commander, there is an armed force approaching." The griffon left out the part about there being moose. That would be their leader's job of breaking the bad news.

"Hey now, it's dangerous to be wandering around in the dark." The soldier puffed out his chest and struck what he thought was a dashing pose. "Fortunately, Equestria's finest is here to help escort you fillies home safe and sound."

The other soldiers moved in closer, their eyes glinting expectantly.

Juniper didn't like the feel of these ponies.

"We were just headed home." Juniper attempted to shove her way around them.

Echo giggled. "I appreciate the thought gentlestallions," she sang, "but we are perfectly capable of taking care of ourselves."
