Default "Star Wars D20 Eclipse Campaign 2"

A Long Time ago in a Gallaxy Far Far Away

It is a time of great turbulence in the gallaxy as the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin has suffered a recent attack by the Sith Lord Infernus and his cohorts, Incindis and Nemisis.

Attempting to find out why a particular Holocron was stolen, the Jedi search the gallaxy for clues to what the Sith's malevolent plan might be in hopes of stopping it before it could further unsettle the already war torn New Republic.

Meanwhile in the Tion Hegemony aboard the New Republic Special investigations fleet...

"Admiral, our long range sensors sweep is complete, we finished correlating it with the scouts information and comparing it to our last NRI scans of the planets and.. well you better take a look at this."
"Hmm Looks like the Hegemony is definately trying to get their millitary upgraded fast, their orbital shipyards are far further along than we projected. Wait. What is this! Commander?"
"It appears to be a World Devastator Sir, or something similar. There have been several sensor shadows of similar large ships reported by free traders in the area."
    "Imperial!?"
    "No Sir, unknown designs."
"Where the Hell would they find the materials to put togeather anything that large, these point to something on the scale of a Soverign class!"
"WWell sir if they had access to a world Devastator it would certainly explain their faster than projected build up. It's also related to some chatter the NRI boys came upon, something to the effect of Xim the Despot returning from the dead with a massive fleet, sounded like propaganda but.."

A figure in a white robe steps onto the command deck. His blue hands togeather at his chest pensively gesture silence and attention. Red eyes glowing from under the cowl he authoritatively recommends "Have all ships withdraw to alpha coordinates, go to full passive. If the Empire knows about this they'll be sending something in force as soon as they can. Get a message through to New Republic High Command immeadiatly with all our information. The Empire will be here shortly. We're going to watch the fight from the sidelines and record everything we can. We wait and we watch."

    ------------------------------------------------

Around the destroyed planet of Alderaan, a strange group of ships ascends out of the twisting orbital debris. A YT1300 and a group of strange fighter ships the like of which this side of the gallaxy has never seen.

@Frae'al: The sensors are picking up faint telltales of something at the edge of the asteroid field.

@Keth: You sense an echoing emptyness, almost like something inhuman waiting and watching with a predators patience.

((Where? Ahead, behind, to the sides?))

Frae'al compared the readings she was getting to the signatures of the Tion ships to see if they matched, and if they did, she focused on those particular frequencies to cut through the background "noise".

    ((Take 10 again.))

((Sorry, net's been out for a while.))

Well, Asyr is doing his hardest to avoid debris large enough to put undue strain on the shields, and is more than a little busy flying by instrument.

"And to answer your question Frae'al, I left the bug on the dayroom table when I came back in."

@Everyone: The Crimson Starlight makes it to the edge of the asteroid field that had once been Alderaan. The Accompanying Sith Fighters break off into something looking like an escort formation. A primitive com signal indicates "We are prepared to begin the prearranged wreckage retrieval if it is deemed wise at this juncture."

@Frae'al: The sensor readings seem to be coming from the periphery of the asteroid field, spread out in a near sphere. Small and not moving in relation to the asteroid field they don't have the nearly the size to even be fighters, sensor beacons or something similar by your best estimate.

"Uhh, wait one," Frae'al said. Having lost the cover of the asteroids, she switched over to the active scanners, rememberng the fighters that snuck up on her on the way in. And if that came up clean, she tried hacking the beacons to see where they were transmitting to.

Sorry things have been crazy both at work and at home, haven't had a lot of time, even lost internet briefly. My appologies on the lateness of the post I just wish I could say it wouldn't happen again, unfortunately my schedule of neverending 12 hour days requiring an hour commute does not seem to be up yet so it's hard to say if this will be a regular posting issue. Anyways back to the show trying desperately to get on the road.

@Everyone: The ship drifts toward the edge of the gravity well, accompanied by the Sith Ships which do not break off to gather debris from the destroyed drone fighters from earlier.

Frae'al's attempt to hack the destination of the sensor's proves fruitless, as it looks like said sensor beacons are not transmitting... or at least not transmitting in a fashion you can detect.

((And the scan? I am assuming it came up empty, but...))

"Argh!" Frae'al groaned. Why did every attempt to find answers only yield more questions?

Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she keyed to comm. "Alright, let's start that debris pickup. And shake a leg." Switching over to the ship's intercom, she said, "Stay sharp. Something's up."

And while fighters searched the debris, she searched for any Cronau radiation, particularly that matching Infernus's ship. And once that was done, she headed for the break room to take apart the bug. At first, she worked carefully, to make sure there was no anti-tamper systems in place, but once she was sure they were either absent or disabled, she quickly rendered the device down to it components, both to nuetralize it and hopefully glean some insight into its function.

It's been too long, do we have tractor beams or anyone with vacuum-safe armor? It'd be simpler to just nab one of the "beacons" and disassemble it to find out it's secrets.

Asyr is simultaneously following the pre-plotted course for wreckage retrieval and computing a course back to Yavin IV for our little fleet, and once the computations are complete, send the sith ships their respective jump data.

No tractor beam, but since they are unpowered, Move Object works just as well.

And quit getting ahead of me.

"It's just as well. If I caught you trying, I would've had to kill you." Frae'al remarked without a trace of humor.

Turning his head slightly, Asyr then says to Frae'al, So, selling the data before you will get me killed. That's something I'd expect coming from a Hutt or Imperial agent, not an Independent freelancer like yourself. Besides, do you think I have a holotransceiver just laying around, I have 2 friggin sea bags of stuff to my name, and no holotransceiver or hyperspace transmitter that I've ever seen or touched could fit into a bag that small.

"They're far from the only ones who demand discretion. Especially for the jobs I specialize in. So yes, I would, because it would be terrible for business should it become known I hang client's dirty laundry out for the galaxy to see.

"And you're sitting right next to one,"

Continuing the conversation, "So what kinds of 'jobs' do you specialize in? I'm really nothing more than a bum of a spacer, before I joined up with you lot I was part of the crew for a mail ship, and before that I worked with the Astrogation Department of the Iridonia branch of the New Republic University as a hyperspace scout. I don't quite know all the proper etiquette for backroom dealings; could you please explain them a little more when we have free time? I would rather not get shot for ignorance. Also, our comm equipment isn't quite good enough to push files much beyond 4 or 5 lightyears, and there really aren't any active holonet relay stations within that range.

That got Frae'al's attention enough for her to look up from the computer and give Asyr a long, hard stare. "I dunno. Considering I just told you I can't talk about my work, and then you go ahead and ask me anyway, I can't see much a future for you in the trade. And if you persist in trying, you probably won't have much of a future, period."

Yeah life has been sucking of late, haven't and unfortunately don't have much time to devote to online gaming, as in literaly being unable to check mail etc due to work schedule (effectively 14 hour days with a mileage of 230 per day leaving me with little time and few days off which are spent catching up with car maintanance and the wife.. So I again appologize for my inability to post much, unfortunately it does'nt seem to be changing for the next while so you can consider the game on extended hiatus.

The Ship is prepared to enter Hyperspace just outside the edge of the gravity well, the sensors and debris from the attack craft still showing on the sensors.

The Sith ships radio over weakly that they are prepared to follow your course.

Asyr looks up from the controls and replies: "Fine by me, I've been around enough to know a thinly veiled 'shut up or die' when I hear one. I'll stick to being the cabbie for our motley crew, and you can do all the backroom deals and skullduggery you want." Then Asyr smirks, and says: "And the visor kind of reduces the effectiveness of the death-glare. Do you want me to turn off the lights so you can do a proper glare, sans visor?"
