Well Jakob lets go, blightning coursing up and down his arm, which drops uselessly to his side.

"Is good answer. Perhaps not best, but good." He finally turns his head back to Prometheus, and as he does he shrinks even more, his old wounds opening up on top of the new ones, the chains coming out again through his skin. It is obvious more than half of the links are gone, and the spear point tears up through his shoulder as he grows smaller, leaving that arm dangling by a thread. "You have good friends here Girly Man. Perhaps one day I can call you friend as well. But I know when I am outmatched, and no one answers my calls for help. Maybe if we met one day on a field of battle, we could see who would truly win, but today I am bested." His legs give out from under him, and he falls on his face.

[Lady Serpentine]

The Karyana-mist de-acidifies, and flows out of his mouth, unless stopped.

It will then reform when it's out.

Gordon's Office

"Your members did well. The living one was able to free herself, and while the other two died, they did go down after dealing with a number of the guards, and that is not an easy task.

I am willing to release them, but I have a job that I want done in exchange for that."

Main Room

"What answer where you expecting? We are villains, in case you've forgotten." Prometheus says, and just in case he's not talking to a corpse, he'll use Strength to try and behead Jakob. "At least that is over with. The others might even learn a lesson from it."

[Gordon's Office]

The Operative decides not to comment on the fact that the job they decided to do could've easily ended with no deaths had they planned properly. "Name the job."

Main Room

He meets no resistance, literally, his spear passes through the neck without disturbing it. The chains fall to the ground and begin disintegrating with a wailing of damn souls.

Gordon's Office

Gordon opens a drawer in his desk, and takes out a metal case. He opens its it, and placing it on the desk, letting the Operative see the three large syringes inside it.

"There is a man at GLoG, Marley. I want these filled with his blood, and returned to me. It would be best if you send someone more careful than the people who came here."

Gordon looks down at a screen hidden in the desk.

"And it seems like the battle in the front room is over."

[Devixer]

[Gordon's Office]

"Done. The contract will be completed in short order." If allowed, the Operative uses his telekinesis to close the briefcase and pull it to his hand. "Well, you're their leader. I think it best if you inform them of the situation."

[ThePhantom]

Gordon's Office

Gordon has no way to stop him from doing so.

"Very good then."

Gordon stands up, and opens the door.

[Gordon's Office]

The Operative walks through the door, briefcase sort of in hand.

And with that, Gordon makes his way to his office.

Meanwhile, at the Front Entrance of Injustice...

Rogar, seeing how the members and nonmembers are busy, comes over to the door.

"Can I help you?"

"Uuugh..."

Yep.

Still face-palming.

"I had been lead to believe that maybe, just maybe the Association had finally moved beyond idiotic infantile infighting. But apparently not judging from the present state of things," Maph sighs. "I had been considering joining on the off chance this wouldn't be a complete waste of my time, but it looks like you guys are just a fight-club without the philosophical depth still."

A beat.

"You don't still kill each other with cheese, do you?"

[ThirdEmperor]

Prometheus, splattered with three different kinds of blood but still trying to look dignified, walks over to the door, attempting to shoo the henchmen away. Henchmen should be seen, not heard! "We do not kill each other with cheeses, no. In fact, we have recently eliminated almost all infighting. This was merely us dealing with a few incompetent assassins."

Rogar turns around, sighs, then turns back. Trying to shoo him away isn't going to work, being the head henchman has advantages.

"Actually, that was the result of people trying to get inside the group to kidnap a member. Hopefully, things will calm down, and the party can start. As for the cheese-killing, that doesn't happen anymore, thankfully.

As for the joining up, I'll be glad if you don't go arounding killing my underlings randomly. Just because we have a cloning system to bring them back, doesn't mean getting killed isn't painful."

[Rebonack]

[Front Entrance]

"Anyone dumb enough to be wasting resources by killing minions for the hell of it should be tossed headlong into a sphere of annihilation. Would do the universe a favor by getting rid of the excess stupid."

Hoo...

This guy's a bit cutting.

"Assassins, hmm? The Nexus has always seemed to attract an absurd number of those. Provided you're telling the truth and not stabbing each other for kicks and giggles then that's pretty encouraging."

Y'know. Relatively speaking.

"When's the last time your organization has succeeded at one of its core goals? Or are you guys still doing the lay-about thing like all the other useless Orgs?"

"Our leader has recently elected to simply throw away our core goals, and is currently attempting to take over Inside via politics.. Prometheus says, scowling. It's idiotic. In his opinion, there's no way in hell AMEN will be able to take over Inside with anything short of overwhelming force, because there's no way the people of Inside will ever accept AMEN's rule. Politics are for after you conquer a city. "However, we have recently succeeded in acquiring a rather powerful artifact, as well as a new base of operations."

"I believe that some members find this way acceptable. After all, you need to let other lower their guard before you can do the most you can to them."

Rogar supports Gordon, and while he isn't a member, he still won't back down before most of the members. Sure, a fair number of them are a lot more powerful than him, but loyality counts big in his mind.

Maph snerks slightly at the mention of taking over Inside via anything. "You're kidding, right? The present goal of AMEN is to try to take political control of the town? That's absurdly asinine."

Oh.

Wait.

Now he's actually laughing.

"Wow. This is great. AMEN finally manages to get something akin to a purpose for existing and it's blatheringly stupid. Why should I be surprised? Here," he raises one hand and waves it a little. "I'll let you guys in on a secret. No one controls the Nexus. Every now and again some stooges might pop up who say they do. But they don't. No one person or one group can. It's a living organism that adapts and changes at a pitch that the mind can't even grasp."

Another laugh as he runs one hand through his hair.

"Okay. Look. Tell you what. You really want to control Inside? Or at least part of it? Head over there. Set up a sign that says, 'This Part of Inside is Controlled by AMEN'. Have a presence there. Be consistent in your area of influence. And try not to be too much of a douche. Congratulations. You now control part of Inside."

A sly grin spreads across Maph's face. "Or at least you say you do. And if you can get others to believe you? That's all that matters."

The political method sounds semi-plausible enough to be worth TRYING, but one should note that AMEN has always been most successful at solving problems with violence. Which is why I am currently busy building an army. Speaking of which, I have business elsewhere. A tragedy to miss the party, but this is a matter of great import.

Cyrus once again bursts into Hellfire and teleports away, unless someone stops him.

Rogar and Prometheus may feel a brief gust of wind before Jack explodes into the doorway.

He bursts out of the framework itself, a singular grey mass, a limb swatting at Maph like a fly. Not a huge fist, exactly. It's far too simple for that. It shares the walls of the base, using what was once heavy, immobile stone to swing with the force of a pickup truck.

If he's struck by the blow, Maph may find himself flying back down the mountain.

Since there is nothing anymore that holds Zefir he is free to move. He walks over to the Succubus and Stu kneeling at the edge of the glue.

"You made one mistake dear. You told me you work for my enemy."

A flame appears in his free hand, while he is still holding his holy grenade. he looks at Stu.

"Sorry for that, but I more like to know my enemies dead."

"I've been out actually accomplishing things," Magtok says whilst rolling his eyes, taking the bait without even a moment's hesitation. "Y'know, like maybe building up an entire casino from scratch? It's open now, by the way. And awesome. Everyone should go there and give me their money."

Not even trying to be subtle about it, are we Magtok?

"You got an opening for a layabout who will mooch off the open bar and only occasionally toss some quarters into the slots?" Moff asks.

[Main Room]

"Then he shouldn't seek it where my enemies fall, Moff."

"I'm sure Stu will take 'your enemy' elsewhere if you refrain from blowing her up," Moff says. "Right Stu?"

Moff has no particular like or dislike of Stu. He's just in favour of having fun.

Julie wiggles a bit more until she facing Zefir again. "I don't know where you get your info Sugah, but I don't work for anyone. Brainy-brain, as you call him, is my brother. I just came here to see if I could find some... entertainment."

"The political things might be worth trying if you actually do something," Maph'tey points out. "The only thing that matters here in the Nexus is what you actually do. Not so much what you intend. The most important step is by far-"

And suddenly doom-slap!

The kinetic energy of the attack is completely absorbed, causing Maph's form to ripple in a rather weird looking fashion. He quirks an eyebrow at the unannounced assault.

"Well good morning to you too, mister pseudopods. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you have strong feelings about this topic?"

That seems like a reasonable guess.

[Murkus]

"Oh, good, another freakishly overpowered jackass." Jack frowns at Maph. "And me? Oh no. I'm just providing an example. Though I wish it could've been more entertaining." At which point, the door is likely slammed in Maph'tey's face.

"The only place the lady fell was on me you jerk!"

Indeed, it is hard to look at Stu, what with being stuck to Julie's back and all.

He's not taking anyone anywhere right now. Just working to get free.

[Lady Serpentine]

Karyana starts to grow quills over the rest of her combat form.

Rather than the standard neurotoxin, they contain a soporific.

Assuming Julie notices Stu's struggles, she'll attempt to retract her wings, which may or may not unstick them. Even if they're still stuck together, there's probably alot less glue between them now.

The door is slammed in Maph's face!

Though given that he's standing on the other side of the door due to this crazy ability called taking a step the slamming probably won't amount to very much.

"Overpowered? What the hell do you think this is? A video game? Go bother someone else, kid. Grownups are talking here."

Geeze...

That isn't very nice at all!

Maph should really try to be a bit more polite. That kind of attitude probably isn't going to win many friends.
