The elderly looking fellow lowers his book and peers at Xalicus over his specials. Then coughs in a very old-man sort of way. "Exactly what it sounds like, mah boi."

That's a very CDi sort of thing to say...

"Give us specifications and we will build a magical pet to your liking."

That's pretty nifty!

Adir throws it in the cart, giving Sakura a flat, curious look. "You're not really into the whole 'pretend guns' thing, are you?"

"No, it's okay. Really." Sakura gives him a reassuring smile. It's not really the toy gun that's the problem. It's that it makes her think of real guns. She's really grown to be apprehensive of them, but that's something she's going to have to just deal with. She'd never ask Adir to stop hunting. That would be ridiculous.

Boris arrives here. He's carrying a silver briefcase, which might appear a little uncharacteristic of the sniper. He also looks a little tense, mostly because he doesn't really like malls.

Boris will note a new person behind the counter, a young lady with blonde hair and blue eyes, and a somewhat curvy figure hidden under a surprisngly modest dress.
"Welcome to Erin's. Can I help you with anything?" the woman, whose name tag reads 'Kara', asks.

Boris gives a friendly nod to Kara as soon as he sees her. "Yes, as a matter of fact. I'm here to ask about mods or enhancements for this weapon." He indicates the briefcase in his hand. What could be in there?

"Well, how about we have a look, then?" Kara asks brightly, motioning for Boris to open the case.

"If you say so." Adir says, giving a little shrug. He pushes their little cart along the length of the shelf, coming across a section of self-help books for taking care of a baby. The stag grabs one or two of these hastily. He's never been one for reading, but he could use all the help he can get.

Boris sets the case on the nearest counter and snaps it open. It contains several parts for a rifle of some sort, which he immediately removes and assembles. It isn't long before Kara is looking at a VSS Vintorez.

"Ooh, very impressive. What sort of modifications are you looking to have performed, then?"

"I see! Impressive." Xalicus considered carefully. Many wizards had familiars, and a companion would be useful in his adventures, but choosing a particular type of creature would be difficult, and there were other concerns. Even if it seemed favourable, he still had to address those concerns first. "So... Would this be costly or anything?"

I believe that Jakus and Harina are still here. While Jakus will have to make his own decisions, Harina would certainly be interested in buying some things.

Boris carefully sets the assembled sniper rifle back down on the counter. "Mostly, I was looking to increase its stopping power and range while keeping it silent."

"Ah. We can certainly do that for you! It'll be a bit on the expensive side though," Kara warns.

[Devixer]

[EE]

"I guessed, I've been saving for quite a while." Boris smiles, seeming not to mind the warning or expense. "Also, I wonder if there are any improvements we can make on the scope. Make magic visible through it, ignore invisibility, that sort of thing."

"A True Seeing scope will be enormously expensive," Kara warns. "However if you can provide the cash, we can do it."

Boris frowns a little at the mention of the expenses. "Could you perhaps give me numbers for both of these?"

Kara nods, and...quotes the prices.

The basic charge is...expensive, but not unreasonably so. The cost of a True Seeing scope, however, is best described as 'eyewatering', and will probably take every scrap of Boris' savings.

Boris lets out a short breath as the price for the True Seeing scope is quoted, and he shakes his head a little. "Glad I didn't ask for it to be able to zoom farther as well. Maybe we could set up some kind of payment plan?"

"Well, of course! We offer credit systems to suit every budget," Kara says brightly.

[Devixer]

Boris smiles, looking reassured. "Good, then. I can pay half of this price now, while still having money to keep my other expenses afloat. Perhaps regular monthly payments for the rest?"

[The Bushranger]

"That would be quite acceptable," Kara confirms with a smile. "And the upgrades should take...about a week to perform, I think."

Boris nods. "Do you need ammunition for the rifle? That clip's empty."

Ah, beautiful colours. The fountain was quite a source of entertainment for most. Especially for Reis as he smiled contentedly, strumming on his lute occasionally as he tuned it by ear.

His lucky feather well stuck into his hair above his right ear, and his bag of music sheets slumped down next to him as he sits on a bench watching the fountain.

Laban strokes his beard thoughtfully for a few moments, chewing on his beard as he ponders that question. He seems to be very thoughtful. ...or maybe just a bit slow-witted in his old age. Regardless he'll nod eventually. "To a degree. Like everything in the Nexus prices are negotiable. Though the more complex the custom creation the more costly it will be."

That makes sense, right?

A few moments later a little half-drow boy in modern attire comes out of a back-room carrying a large brown rabbit with antlers.

"I finished the jackalope, mister Laban," the boy says, reaching up to place the odd bunny on the counter. The wizard mutters something and wiggles his fingers, causing a wicker cage to weave itself around the animal.

The lad then smiles up at Xalicus. "Hello mister!"

A robot is sitting here, on the edge of the fountain, trailing the fingers of its right hand in the water. It's shaped like a human (female), with hair formed from fine gold wire. The way it's designed gives the impression that it's wearing fairly expensive clothes, though it isn't covered by anything besides metal.

For those that can tell, it's steam-powered.

A rail thin man approaches the robot, walking as if it's his first time owning legs. Just before he makes it to the fountain he trips over his right heel and pratfalls into the edge of the fountain, his head cracking against the stone.

He turns over and smiles up at her hesitantly. "Exck-use me misse are you perhaps orrnament? Orr cusstomerr?

"I am a customer, I suppose. Certainly, I am not ornamental."

The man inclines his head thoughtfully, "Eck-zellent. My aapologies for the miz-sunderstanding. Would you care to follow me? he shakily gets to his feet, his slurred speech getting a bit more coherent, but not much.

This seems strangely familiar, thought Xalicus. I wonder who else they have in their employ? Some kind of vulpine?

He nodded politely to the boy. Hello, lad. Nice work on the jackalope there." With that, he set his mind to the task of picking a creature.

...Something that has aesthetic appeal, isn't too dangerous, but still can do some practical things...

After some pondering, he made a choice that was relatively boring considering the possibilities and turned back to Laban. "You could make a housecat that has wings, couldn't you?"
