Tarin will learn that Missy's favourite movie is True Lies, that she can't stand Keanu Reeves, that she's excellent at pool but crap at card games, along with other trivia.

"What is it, ma'am?" Missy asks, listening attentively.

Tarin stands up and goes around the table to Missy's side. "I don't know what your parents are like, or what they believe. But I think I understand a little what it is like between you and them. And I just want you to know... whatever they think, I'm proud of you. Proud of your service and your commitment, of your sacrifice. Proud and grateful of the choice you have made. I'm proud of your story." She tries to hug Missy, her hand rubbing up and down Missy's upper arm in a calming, comforting, motherly sort of gesture.

That is ... so completely unexpected. Missy again accepts the hug clumsily, awkwardly hugging back, because she knows you aren't supposed to just stand there with your arms down.

She's too blindsided to answer.

Tarin pulls back, giving Missy a paternal kiss on her forehead, and smiles. "So always be a good, brave soldier, and hold you head high, okay?"

"You're welcome, dear. Well, I must be going. Ta ta! I'll try to stop in and see how you're doing every once in a while!" And with a merry wave, Tarin will be off.

She's very thorough.

Tirin will drive them wherever they're going at a reasonably fast speed. It should work alright; he's coordinated and his reflexes are good. Though it is still only his fourth time in a car.

The pretty young priestess looks at the house curiously, waiting for instructions.

The house is an average-looking place in terms of construction; two floors, once-white siding, green shutters faded and dulled by time, and a dilapidated black roof.

Inside, shafts of sunlight pick up dancing motes of the pervasive dust covering the floor.
Be careful on the stairs---we're going up and they're a bit rickety.

And Dorota is flung as well. She doesn't take it any better than Crissy does. Alright. We're doing something wrong. She recites the poem again. "Crimson and clover, over and over"... we need be wearing one of these to pass this part, I think.

You might be on the right track! But where will they get one of those? Hmmm... there is another, non-windy path that they have yet to try.

Crissy picks herself up, dusting herself off and reaching to offer Dorota a hand up (even as she unconsiously hums a few bars of the famous song). "Um...but, like, where will we find some? I totally don't want to have to go back..."

Carrie pushes open a door to... a perfectly normal bedroom. Not aged or damaged at all.

The lights are on; a girl sits at a desk facing the window, the back of her brown-haired head facing Rosalind.
There she is.

Rosalind takes a deep breath and slowly moves around to get a better look at the girl. Hi...

She turns around; she's about 15, fairly pretty and wearing jeans and a sweater.

"Hi there. I don't think I've met you before, have I?"

"Oh. I...guess it could be worth a try? But, like, wouldn't it be too dangerous?" Crissy asks. Peering at the 'other path' suspiciously.

Well, it's that or turn away. But we've been fine so far, so it might be worth a shot, Dorota says, not sounding entirely confident.

She shrugs. "Not that I mind, just curious."

For the briefest moment, there is an odd smell. Like a gas leak.
Lauren's smile falters momentarily. "I don't really know what you're talking about, sorry."

Rosalind has no idea how to go about this. She's not that smart. But she knows theatre, so she takes a wild stab at the dramatic. You woke up one day and everyone was gone.

"Yeah, well... my parents left a note on the fridge. Said they'd be out 'til the afternoon."
She frowns, knowing the excuse is weak.
"They'll be back later."

Rosalind smiles kindly and tries to rest her hand on the girl's. It's been more than an afternoon, hasn't it, Lauren? I'm sorry, but it's going to get better now.

The room starts to... decay. Slowly. Turning to match the rest of the house.
