"Careful, she's kinda shy," Jamie cautions with a smile, giving Oddball another pat before straightening up.

Karyana and, presumably, Doctor Rogers, step through

The room appears to be made of marble and granite, with a high ceiling, supported by sandstone collumns, and the only furniture is a desk with a comfortable looking chair in front of it. The whole area is covered in dust.

Juppy takes inventory of her new surroundings. The dust settled all around her in tandem with the general grime suggests that nobody has been here for quite a long while.

"Where are we?"

The curious Juppy whispers to Karyana.

"My old room, in my family's house."

Size 1 whispering ftw!

"Would you prefer that we pull your sister out of here before confronting your parents or vice-versa?"

[Lady Serpentine]

[Loarna Manor]

"Let's get Tlannae first. That way, they can't stop us from doing so."

Planning! Yay! That'll really increase the chance of success for this mission!

"Sounds perfect. Do you know where we should begin searching for your sister? Is there any way we might move about the house undetected, or should I send a distraction that way to keep their attention off of you while you secure your sister?"

[Lady Serpentine]

"I can do a block-out on any of the servants, and Tlannae is pretty much the only other person that comes into this part of the house. So yes, we should be fine."

Juppy is pretty sure that she has a fairly accurate guess of what a block-out is, so she will merely gesture to the door, if one can be seen from her current position, and whisper,

"After you."

to Karyana. Time to sneak around the house belonging to Karyana's parents!

(Just out of curiousity, what's her guess?)

One can be seen, yes. Karyana creeps over to it, and, unless stopped, pulls it open.

If Juppy follows, they'll run into a servant around halfway to Tlannae's room.

Juppy is fairly sure that Karyana make use of her magics to blot the pair out of the servant's sight much like an eraser can do away with fractions of an image and the other assorted tools can replace those fractions with new images on photoshop!

Juppy will indeed follow Karyana out of the room. Upon espying the servant, she'll take a deep breath and hold it while attempting to silently scurry out of the servant's path.

It works fine, and the servant continue on, not noticing them.


Karyana resumes her course.

And Juppy resumes stealthily following Karyana through the mansion. Stealthily!

They should arrive at Tlannae's room without further incident.

Unless stopped, Karyana pulls open the door.

Juppy won't do anything to prevent Karyana from opening the door. She only hopes that Karyana's kid sister won't rebel against the very thought of leaving her home, parents, friends, and society behind her. This is all for the best. It truly is.

Tlannae is quite a bit larger than Karyana, but otherwise looks quite similar, at least from behind.

Currently, she's sitting at a desk, drawing, and doesn't appear to have noticed them.

Woah nelly! That girl is huge! Juppy is certain that this monsterish girl is Karyana's "little" sister. The resemblance is uncanny.

Juppy will attempt to nudge Karyana towards the being she presumes is her sister. There's no way Juppy is willing to risk startling her. Not if the parents might even be taller than this one!

Tlannae's not that big... Remember, Karyana is fairly short. Her sister is only around six feet tall.

"Tlannae?"

The girl spins around, and stares.

"Karyana? What are you doing back here?"

Now that Tlannae has turned around, it can be seen that her face also looks much like Karyana's, though she's considerably more tanned, and has a scar running from the left corner of her forehead to the rear right side of her jaw. As well, her eyes are purple. Though Juppy might remember that Karyana's turned a very similar shade when she put her appearance back to normal.

Juppy moves to secure the door! She'll attempt to lock it or barricade it if at all possible so that nobody can barge in on the conversation about to be had without a fair amount of warning.

She won't interject in the conversation as of yet. She's a complete stranger to Tlannae, so she doubts that she could explain why Tlannae needs to be kidnapped/abducted better than Karyana.

Locking the door triggers several sets of thick, overlapping steel bars to block it from both sides. So she's pretty succesful.

"Actually, first, how did you get the resurrection? I really doubt that the Temple brought you back, at least for reasons that would make them let you go."

Wow! Karyana's family must really value their privacy if the locking mechanisms on their kids' rooms are that elaborate!

Juppy remains silent for now. She'll let Karyana and her sister catch up for awhile. Her main concern at the moment is that door. She's watching it intently. Nobody is going to get the drop on Karyana and Tlannae on her watch (hopefully, though it would serve Juppy right if someone were to "get the drop on them")!

"Entertainment? Is watching a mime suffocate inside an imaginary airtight box following conviction for mimery entertaining?" Shawka asks straight-faced, then chuckles as she climbes from the car, and after a moment's concentration allows her clothes to shift to be more...wrinkly.

But just as white. Nanites don't do dirt.

"I am ready, if you are."

"I didn't. I got out, along with some of the others."

Tlannae glares, and unless Juppy intervenes, Karyana ends up being slapped by her sister.

"And you didn't think to come back before now, and tell me you were alive? Get back to where you came from, and be glad I don't report you to the Temple.

"It's... I..."

Karyana continues speaking in sentence fragments, and looks to be pretty close to crying. After a minute of this, Tlannae sighs, and moves to pull Karyana into a hug.

"I'm sorry, Kar. You didn't deserve that."

Juppy won't intervene. This is actually a pretty normal response for a reunion taking place under these circumstances. Of course, if Tlannae had, say, pulled a gun on Karyana, Juppy would've jumped in to provided Karyana her assistance. As is, she just wants Karyana and Tlannae to come to an understanding on how they are to proceed. Their relationship was not Juppy's to build.

Jeremy's Realm

The two go down the gravel lane, and they'll hear the destination well before they see it through the trees. Sounds like... music and cheering?

The place itself is in the center of a clearing and fenced in by several walls of chainlink fence and a pair of watchtowers. The building itself is a large two story building about as wide as three barns. All the lights(flame, not electrical) are on and people appear to be drinking and singing from the sound of it.

"Oi! You two alone?" A young woman shouts from one of the watchtowers. She's covered in shadows at the moment, so its impossible to see her features.

Shawna freezes instinctively at the call, motioning for Jeremy to stop as well, as she calls out in answer.
"Yes, we are alone. We come in peace and seek to speak with your leader," she says - without a single touch of irony - even as she peers into the darkness, adjusting her eyes to see into the infrared spectrum.

"I see. Thanks for telling us." Jasmine says. Hey, at least they got some info to work with now. Even if it is limited.

Despair is about to turn around and go with Jasmine when he remembers something important:

"I'm sorry to further trouble you, but do you know a relatively safe way in? My attempt to open the gate manually triggered a large number of explosives attached to the Portcullis."

"Oh, ya, dat's a gud idea! Ve can sneak up on dem that vay!" Nimrod agrees, retrieving the cutlass he dropped when the otyugh grabbed him. "Mebbe ve should try the windows? A dramatik entrance is alvays fun!"

"In addition to the main entrance, which should be safe now until the cultists come to re-apply the defensive spell, there's a hole in the wall on the other side of the building. The cultists don't go there, though, so it might be dangerous." And, unless stopped, the otyugh will turn and go back to the gate house and the pile of rotting garbage that serves as both his bedding and his food.

It is now that Juppy resolves that it is her time to interject in this conversation. She takes a step toward Tlannae and extends her right hand for Tlannae to shake. In a calm voice she speaks,

"I am Doctor Jupianna Lernith Rogers, but everyone just calls me Juppy. I am a psychiatrist by profession, but today I serve as a friend, mediator, and rescuer. Karyana has returned to this bastion of discrimination to whisk you away to a new home in the Nexus, as she has reason to believe that you might share her gift, which this society so pigheadedly claims is a defect."

"We're here because Karyana cares about you, Tlannae."

Tlannae. That sounds like it is a name that would be difficult to properly pronounce. Unfortunately, the arts of elocution don't favor Juppy. As such, she probably butchers the name. >.<

Shawna freezes instinctively at the call, motioning for Jeremy to stop as well, as she calls out in answer.

Jeremy remains quiet, but a small smirk on his face tells Shawna he has a small suspicion about something. In the Infrared Spectrum, she'll see that the woman appears somewhat thin and young, but the finer details of her face are lost in the vision method. She's under five and a half feet and has shoulder length hair. Cradled in her arms is a long bow, arrow knocked and ready.

"Our leader? Ma'am, where're you from that you haven't heard of this place? Owner goes by Ma. Just head on in and you'll see her or Pa eventually."
