    Roderick and Drynch failed to notice the grey ooze as part of a pair each seemed to drip down from its spot along the ceiling and grab at them.

    The dwarf was taken off guard completely as failed to escape the pod of ooze that wrapped around him, squeezing and causing caustic damage simultaneously.

    Auto hit 8 dmg +2 Acid
    Grapple 22 vs 21 = Constrict 7 dmg +1 Acid
    Failed Reflex save


    Roderick avoided the destructive grapple of the ooze, and his equipment was spared vitriolic obliteration... for now.

    Auto hit 2 dmg +1 Acid
    Grapple 14 vs 25 opposed check
    Reflex save made to avoid acid destroying metal/wood

    All attempts to burn (or freeze) the ooze proved futile; Immune to Cold & Fire

    Though they seemed to ignore all attacks, every weapon not made of stone that struck was subject to destruction from the caustic nature of the creatures. All weapons of metal or wood that strike the ooze need a reflex save (DC16)


    Carn [23] ignited his blades and dashed into action, slashing into the nearest ooze with fiery fierce strokes. Though the fire did no harm, his blade survived the acidic ooze and cut it deeply.

    25 hit 10 dmg
    7 hit 14 dmg
    18 hit 12 dmg



    Roderick [20] moved back and cast, aiding the group with a minor blessing.

    Cast Bless (I added in +1 attack from here on...)



    Victor [19] blasted the oozes with eldrich might, both attacks miraculously bouncing from the primary target to strike the other, sizzling each with harmful energy.

    Ferdinand [15] fired a ray of flame, which struck true but did no harm whatsoever.

    Rukesh [14] moved into position and struck with his axe but somehow missed.

    The dwarf [8] bellowed in pain and anger as his armor, clothing and weapons sizzled and dissolved in the vitriolic grip of the grey ooze. Naked and furious, he fought through the acidic anguish to call upon the divine strength his Deity blessed him with daily, struggling to escape the acidic crushing of the grappling ooze.

    Add Cleric Level (7) to strength (1/day - 1 rd)

    Twin rays slashed out from Victor's eyes, attempting to gouge out a deeper wound where the prior rays had hit. Striking first toward the more damaged of the blobs, than they bouncing toward the other foe.

    Roderick, seeing the destruction of his companion's gear, incants a quick prayer and funnels the energy through his gloves into bolts of force, directed at the Ooze which had just tried to grab him. The bolts strike without fail, piercing into the ooze.

    Carn, seeing the damage that his companion's equipment just took, leaps back, out of range of the creatures' attack. He keeps his swords at ready, however, prepared to swing if the creature advances.

    The dwarf barely heard anything spoken by the others as he ranted and stomped at the dissipating ooze on the stairs. As the remnants of his armor disintegrated he grumpily advanced down the stairs, then suddenly bellowed and fell to his knees, "Robbed o'me crafted plate, me axe be slimed too! Silverbeard hark, grant me boons ta fight in yer name fer what divine powers ye choose, but leave me not naked or weakly armed in Ryclend."

    As he prayed in dwarven a silver nimbus glowed around the war priest, slowly coalescing into plate armor. His warhammer mutated into a waraxe, his preferred weapon of choice.

    With a grin at his companions he continued praying, converting another spell to cure most his wounds, "Now beware Ryclend, we be ready!"

    Glad to see you in one piece Dwarf. I would've hated it to tell your elders what had happened. Maybe next time anyone can tell me weaknesses or immunities, it didn't look like my ray of godly flames(Scorching Ray) had much effect on it. I would never have used that if I knew they would be useless. And the fact that they can destroy armor is also something to be wary at. But let's carry one, I think we have still a long way to go.

    The stairs ended in an restricted (5'wide) archway that opened into a well worked stone tunnel of the same size. Just 10' beyond the arch, the tunnel turned at a right angle to the right. A black bolt shot from the corner as Drynch stepped into view, but shattered harmlessly against the thick dwarven armor.

    Though it was too dark to make out the details, all but Drynch spotted a small humanoid as it fled away. Rukesh was fairly certain it was a goblin. Roderick briefly detected evil, though what he sensed soon moved from the area. Even over the movement and voices of his companions, Rukesh heard the sound of a small creature in boots moving away around the corner.

    As the group moved cautiously forward they discovered another right turn that led into a long hallway. The dwarf boldly marched forward around the corners and into the long hall, daring another attack, ambush, or trap to hinder his advance.

    Can any of you see in the dark, other than Rukesh and Drynch?

    A bit disjointed here due to conditions, initiatives and actions posted. Basically the enemy fired a surprise shot then double moved on its turn. Drynch double moved (40') on round 1, and each of you can post some action for this round if desired.
