Re: [3.5] Ryclend Deephold
Rd 9 (cont)
Halad [21] continued to struggle with the stubborn spell of the goblin priest, remaining motionless for now.
Rukesh [19] tactically turned the sharp blade of his axe toward the foe in the doorway (g5). Slashing deeply into the goblin warrior, crunching through armor, he inflicted a severe wound but failed to slay it in one stroke. He stood ready to take the spot if possible...
26 hit 15 dmg
Carn [16] lunged back into the battle, stabbing the worg in the side with both flaming blades. The wounded goblin fell off awkwardly and landed prone, exposing it to an easy strike from the return stroke of Carn’s primary blade.
16 hit 15 dmg
20 hit 20 dmg = DEAD
10 hit the goblin 17 = DEAD
Rukesh beat the goblin opposite him on the quick step, occupying the strategic spot in the doorway.
The giant [10] adjusted quickly, gleefully stepping up and attacking the shifty dwarf twice.

Roderick [8] dodged the spiritual weapon as he cast a spell to invigorate his nearby comrades
Cast Mass Lesser Vigor on himself, Carn, Drynch, and Rukesh (fast healing 1)
Drynch [3] took a step back out of the door, narrowing the access the goblins and worgs had, and making it all but impossible for the giant axe to reach. He then cast a spell to cure more of his wounds, ready to continue the fight.
"Ferdinand, if ye can heal me I can fight fer some time yet!"

Ferdinand [23] used his magic belt to heal more of Drynch’s many wounds.

The goblins [22] attacked mercilessly, feeling they had the advantage and pressing it with whoops of ill intended delight and battle cries of victory. One mounted warrior (g4) behind the lines in the giant room turned suddenly and moved to the other room to join the attack on Rukesh. Despite inflicting no further wounds the goblins and worgs fought with grim determination and confidence.

Re: [3.5] Ryclend Deephold
Rd 10 (cont)
Halad [21] remained frozen in place by the spell the goblin priest had cast, somehow avoiding the curse by will alone.
Rukesh [19] swiped his axe clean through the wounded goblin (G4), cutting it down in one swift stroke. He stepped back through the door, holding the critical position as a mounted goblin (g6) moved forward.
Carn [16] set his swords against the wall and drew his bow, firing an arrow into the fray. While not an expert shot, having no training to make such precise shots into melee, he nonetheless aimed true and hit his intended target.
25 hit, 6 dmg
OOC: G4 was already down by his turn, so I switched to the foot soldier (g4) in the doorway.
The giant [10] reached over and dropped its axe (free) atop its brethren, which glowed oddly bluish briefly and stopped the bleeding just in time to save it from death. While its brethren remained motionless, the other grinned fiercely and picked up (move) the huge spear it had previously dropped. Leering into the tunnel it stabbed at Ferdinand but failed to penetrate the tough defenses of the Sorcadin.
18 miss
Roderick [8 NPC mode] tried to unravel the spell on the elf, attempting to free the deadly archer from his paralyzed state but his effort failed.
Cast Defensively Dispel Magic (18) vs Hold Person (DC21)
Drynch [3] concentrated on the worg in the doorway, trying to cut it out from under the goblin rider. Despite the attempt by the expert rider to avoid such damage with his advanced riding skill, the dwarf priest of war succeeded. The goblin hopped off the dead mount as it fell, ready to continue the battle on foot.

If desired, he could tell others whatever he wants, and return a message of up to 25 words.

Re: [3.5] Ryclend Deephold
Rd 11 (cont)
Halad [21] finally broke the hold on himself, then switched positions with Roderick as he prepared to fire upon the giant.
27 save vs Hold Person = full round, 5’ step
Rukesh [19] swung his axe and cleaved a nasty wound across the belly of the goblin in the doorway (g6). As goblin blood and guts oozed from his attack, he hollered for Carn to step past him. He then informed the group of the incoming ally he had been told of by Elduin via a magic Sending.
30 hit 11 dmg
Carn [16] seemed conflicted about the words Rukesh spoke. On one hand he seemed to be indicating they should retreat, while announcing they were getting an additional ally soon. He decided to take advantage of the position and fired two arrows at the goblin in the doorway. Unfortunately, due to his lack of precise expertise with a bow he missed both shots!
13, 5 both miss
Following orders from the goblin priest, the now blinded giant [10] aimed his long spear at Ferdinand. The first thrust barely missed and the sorcadin dodged just in time to avoid the second jab of the horrible spear.
24 hit (miss due to Blindness), 11 miss
After swapping places with Halad, Roderick [8] cast a spell to heal some of his wounds.
5’ step, Cast Cure Critical Wounds Heal 38
Nearly out of options and suffering from several wounds, Drynch [3] raised his shield and spoke a few words to create a shimmering magical field around himself for more protection. His Spiritual Axe hit the giant twice, but to only minor affect.

Ferdinand [23] fired a scorching ray that struck the frost giant hard, burning into its chest and causing it to roar in palpable pain. Dead on its feet, it stared down and the sizzling hole in its chest a moment before crumpling to the ground.
RTA 24 hit 18 dmg = DEAD
The goblins [22] seemed oblivious to reality, having little luck in combat drawing blood they continued fighting with inexplicable zeal. They had the giants, worgs, and their religious leader to inspire them, but this wouldn’t normally account for such eagerness to fight against such obviously superior forces. Nonetheless they fought on, unmindful of the situation, clearly fanatical.

Seeing the giant fall, the elf shifted targets to the goblin priest that had enspelled him.

Re: [3.5] Ryclend Deephold
Ferdinand
You will never get me foul beast. My god protects me from whatever powers your god tries to use on me. For I am his blessed son, and thou blasphemer shall perish today.
Ferdinand shouts out, defeating the force coming over him with what he feels was divine protection.“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”

Halad [21] shot his arrows at the shadow veiled goblin priest, who had the glow of many magic effects around him. The first and third arrows flew past harmlessly as they only just barely grazed the corner of the wall and were deflected by his armor and magic protections. Though the second shaft cleared the cover provided by the wall, it caromed off his armor and magic protections and failed to do any harm.

Rukesh [19] avoided being tripped by the worg attack, his great strength preventing the beast from dragging him from his feet. He resisted the Greater Command of the goblin priest, and struck the goblin warrior hard with his sword. The humanoid fell to the ground clutching his wounded belly, rolling around and dying in a growing pool of dark goblin blood. Rukesh stepped back to give Carn a better shot

Carn [16] shot again, trying hard to hit the goblin in the doorway. Unfortunately for him, Rukesh was in the midst of moving in melee and too often got in the way, causing him to miss both shots.

Joran [11] slipped through the magical gate created by the key. As it vanished he flew around the corner, his sharp ears alert to the sounds of battle ahead. As he flew to the corner of the long hall, he saw a rather strange looking canine standing there, apparently alert to his presence. It seemed to be guarding the rear of the party, but appeared unaggressive toward Joran.
Thinking back to his training about magical beasts, he seemed to recall a creature known as a cooshee, an elven dog. Though he’d never seen one before, this creature looked exactly like the artist rendering in the book he had studied.

Roderick [8] was very unhappy with the developments of this battle so far. While immune to the compulsion of the evil cleric, the tactical position and defenses the foe enjoyed meant real trouble for the group. Though some had called for retreat, and those engaged with the enemy directly were slowly enacting that wise strategy, he decided to take drastic action. Clicking the heels of his magic boots together, he teleported himself into the room next to the goblin cleric.
“Now, foul cleric of cold, shall ye face the wrath brought to you by the Inquisitioner of Heironeous!“
Standard Action - 2 charges – teleport 40’ to M12, 5’ step top M13
Drynch [3] redirected his Spiritual Axe to the goblin priest, aiding Roderick by this action, though the magical flying axe failed to penetrate the icy defenses of the goblin. He growled and slashed his own axe into the goblin warrior blocking the door, slicing a rather nasty wound the armor and across the chest of his chosen foe.
