    Greenhorn Inn

    Either owner will be aware when the keys are activated, and will inform the newcomers of your return. Each of the trio, upon return to their room, find a small fairy with a message from Elduin to meet the new delvers downstairs at your first convenience.

    So a meeting is arranged by Elduin, who will attend initially, introduce everybody, answer any questions, update his map, then leave the group to themselves.

    Drynch passes his gaze over the new recruits with strangely piercing dark brown eyes over a tankard of foaming ale, "Hope you're up for some serious challenges. We finished off the first level," he nods at the map, "and fought several nasty beasties, some more than once. We killed all but a few, one of which was banished back to it's native plane by me. Whoever magic brought it there and bound it, might still be a threat to is. I believe that to be the goblin cleric, who we may see again. The entire level was frozen, or near it, and who knows what the next level down will contain."

    Tal was getting a bit nervous of waiting when they finally called him.

    He was small and looked kind of funny with that long hat and his tiny rapier.

    I'll been waiting for this. I like mazes and complicated dungeons with traps and locks and dark corners to set ambushes. It's in my nature.

    Drynch chuckles, "After a bit more ale, food, and whatever we need to discuss, I'm heading off to visit my cousin. He's the armor, and his wife is the weaponsmith in this town. In case the pointy eared wonder failed to mention it, his partner Bukrohm is my mentor."

    Another round of drinks is served, along with more plates of food specific to what the returning trio typically eat. The dwarf pauses to bite into a loaf of fresh bread, then washes it down by chugging an entire large flagon of ale. After a deep burp, he looks at Tal, furrowing his bushy brow a bit in concentration and says, "Yes, whisper gnome, likely trained in devious ways. Tal, was it? You're likely to be a very clever little man, and particularly qualified to handle dungeon delving with all it's notorious dangers and challenges.We typically leave right after breakfast."

    Just to note this in the game thread, Elduin did retrieve the new keys and take them with him. Later he'll meet with Tal and Pepper to activate the enchantment and give each of them their key.

    A stonechild! I haven't met one of your kind in ages. Yes, traps are my field of expertisse. Both magic and mundane. I have the tools for the job at hand. And to be honest, I'm getting restless, there hasn't been a good dungeon crawl in my travels lately.


    He scratches Cuco's ear, the old dog seems very pleased. Then he talks to the elf.

    The room is unchanged from when Halad, Rukesh and Drynch left it the day before: cold, but not enough to do any harm, and empty but for the door in the east wall and the stairs leading down in the southwest corner. Drynch and Pepper are first to arrive, followed by Rukesh and Tal, with Halad last.

    The dwarf turns to Tal and shrugs, "Rukesh went down those stairs a bit when we were fighting the fiend here. I don't recall any traps going off," he chuckles a bit, "though I was a bit busy at the time. I suppose, being a dangerous dungeon and all, you should go first and be looking for traps. Rukesh or I, or both when possible, will be close behind you."

    Lvl 2, Room 1

    The newest member of the party, a whisper gnome called Tal, cautiously leads the way down the stairs towards the second level of Ryclend Deephold. Looking for traps on the stairs, he’s followed by the hulking Rukesh, who in turn is followed by the dwarven war priest Drynch. Halad the elf brings up the rear with his pair of animals.

    The stairs descend quite a distance, somewhere over 100 feet, before opening into the corner of a damp, dark room. As he comes to the bottom steps and into view of the floor, Tal spots a very large boar and a troll. To the right of the room he sees a pair of trolls standing in front of a door. There are coins and other treasures scattered around the room on the floor.

    As the boar came into view, Halad released his bowstring, and drew and fired twice more in the blink of an eye.

    Halad releases his first arrow, which sinks deep into the boar's left shoulder. Another pair if arrows follows into the right shoulder.

    The snarling beast slams into the corner of the stairway as the deft whisper gnome springs aside.

    While the boar snorts and swiftly shakes off the mistimed attack, it backs up slightly.

    Aoo for Tal if armed for melee...

    The dwarf war priest casts Spiritual Weapon in the form of an axe, which swings at the boar.
