Despite the suprise your transformation causes it seems that the man is a veteran that has his wits about him.

He looks at you in your new shape and snaps a command.

"Stall him." he says simply and retreats to the end of the room.

Once there he mutters a few words and he is then surrounded by a vague dark light giving him a more menacing appearance. With another soft word and his body is clad in a full plate armor of dark bronze.

The two figures get off the bed and position themselves between you and him but take no further actions as if waiting for your move.

Still as you transform your own body is wracked with pain from the overchanneling. Luckily your sanctuary effect seems to work on the Pelorite who looks annoyed as he prepares another inflict spell and realises he cant deliver it.

The same does not apply to the more dangerous of the two though as he tries to hit you twice once more. Thanks to your aura you avoid the first attack and thanks to your now incredibly tough exterior the second one does no damage!

Well I was asking for another reason as will become apparent... if the paralysis was happening with the blow instead of with the grapple this would have gone better for you :D

You manage to hit the man with both claws and they bite deep creating nasty grooves on his armor as they crush it and cause damage on the bones of the man.

Somehow though, despite your great strength and the fact that he is wearing plate armor he manages to escape your grapple with ease! The suprise is quite great as is the laughter that comes from his side.

"Fool!" he spits as he strikes you twice more. Once again though your incredibly tough exterior means that he fails to wound you further.

Well reason I was asking if it paralyses on hit is that freedom of movement would work against hold person but not against natural paralysis... unfortunately in order for you to paralyse him with the Chuul ability you need to actually succeed on a grapple check and THEN move him... and given freedom of movement you cant suceed on the grapple check as he auto-passes.

And yea after this display you can assume Scribly can tell... you failed the spellcraft roll but can now see the effects and given your experience you can deduce it.

There is spittle appearing at the edge of his mouth as your ego whip destroys past of his functions and he blinks twice.

It seems that despite the fact that he has not been physically wounded he realises the threat your psionic powers present and he curses. The man assumes a defensive stance and mumbles a few words... this time you dont need to really understand what spell he cast as inky black darkness fills the area.

He then proceeds to run towards the window... and JUMP outside!

The Pelorite has helped the merchant recover meanwhile and are turning to face you once again, readying actions in case you try to pursue.

The chaotic powers you employ surge out of control diminishing the ability you try to employ against your target.

Even worse he grits his teeth managing to resist part of your attack. Unfortunately though its enough... he coughs twice and starts swaying on the spot were he is. The cry of 'Guards' that he had on his lips frozen and unspoken.

Behind you the two men though are not giving up. The merchant stumbles behind you and attempts to hit you. The darkness though and the fact that you are partly obscured by it means he misses.

The Pelorite frowns at your resilience realising he cant physically harm you and as he is out of inflict spells decides to at least make things difficult for you. He moves away and starts screaming for help while he begins casting again.

This is a major plothook for Aldhaven I have developed... more than 4 or 5 pcs at one time or the other were touching on this story. Others ignored it, other pursued it, others were affected by it but couldnt follow the clues... you have gone the deeper into it than anyone else so far... but the deeper you get the more tough it will be.

I make it a habbit of rolling most rolls up front so you know that if you get killed, or nearly get killed that you did it by your own and no help or anything from me :D.

For example the guy you just ego whipped to near oblivion had a prepared spell list (as he was an important NPC) and hence I was limited to it... hence no restoration or dispel that would have killed your plan was available :D

And basically he was also a Priest... but you failed to pass a single spellcraft for him so I couldnt tell you it was Divine magic and what spells he had cast :D

I will tell you XP for these guys later but overall it was a pretty level appropriate fight ;)

You bring the man in and do the various changes. When you remove his armor you see that the blood that he has, from the claw wound, is actually normal red blood.

On him the man has a magical suit of full plate (which you know is at least called + whatever other enchantment), a crystal he had on his forehead, a pair of magical boots and also a magical heavy mace. He is also wearing a magical necklase and a magical ring.

You have just managed to change into him and put his clothes on but have not actually hidden the body when a very loud noise, such as the door being destroyed completely, is heard from the bottom of the tower.

You have -1- round before they are up in the room.
AvB has come and gone. Its spirit still lives on in the few active threads...

Yup, it was a good challenge. And a good learning curve for me. Some of my mistakes.
    - First cloacker - then Chuul? (costly in pp and rounds)
    - Effect - melee - ego whip - melee (no structure what so ever)
    - Silende was needed badly.

Scribly quickly walks the man to the window and dimension doors far away to a roof top. (720 ft range)

On arrival he moves himself and the man out of sight, before putting the man in his bag of holding.

    Hide if needed (1d20+17)[29]

Plan is to transport him (using the bag and opening it at regular intervals) back to either my place or Mraz's. Probably mine.
