Scribly realises the guy is casting one of those really handy spells.

Well, good thing I'm not spending one of my expensive stones on it.

He makes sure to stand at the back of the group, not to close to the door. While waiting, he casts detect psionics on himself, to keep an extra eye on things.

The knock spell goes off and there are sparks of magic grounding themselves in the nearby area. A particularly wicked lightning strikes the boy who cast knock and incinerates him on the spot.

The girl screams and Dreifus drops on his knees trying to avoid any further such outbursts from the door...

Scribly flinches as the spell goes off.

"...... YOU!! Idiot!! You´ve alerted the whole university."

"I'm getting out of here. Dreifus, should you still manage to find some good info/belongings in that room, I'll come to collect them, and if it's good you get the clock."

Scribly then quickly walks off, to the Flint.

Actually the sound was loud but not loud enough to disturb the university. A few people might come to check it out but you might be lucky if you were to hide the body and enter the room quickly.

You also realise that the alarm spell has not gone off as you would have expected it to...

You know that very good practicioners of all types of magical arts can employ decoys or even fake auras. As such one spell can be made to appear as another... hence an aura that would indicate an alarm spell could be a fake to hide the trapped lightining... this fits given how the girl had not in fact seen a lightning bolt trap.

That or the alarm is silent...

    Dreifus turns to you.

"Now... now you open the door... I can help but I aint risking my life like him! And the girl wont do it just under charm after seeing what happened to that guy!" he says pointing at the steaming body.

"Oh and I guess we should also gather the body..."

    Just kidding...

As you open the door you see a very neat and ordered office. A large number of 'souvenirs' and curia line the walls along with books and journals.

There are 2 leather chairs set in front of the mahogany desk and a glorious armchair behind it. Pens, pencils and writting implements of various kinds are set on the desk as is what appears to be a leather bound book with red writting on it.

Two sets of clothing are hanging from a long hanger next to the door. Lastly, a grandfather clock adorns the left side of the room.

((I think it was fun! Take 5 xp for taking it in good humor!))

There are no magical auras from most of the room. You do detect a series of very faint auras at the bottom of the grandfather clock. A small drawer is located there.

The girl searches around the room and eventually declares that there are no more traps that she can find.

"Alright, everybody search for clues .... and valuables perhaps."

"Dreifus, could you check that small drawer, or have her check it out? It seems magical of some sort."

Scribly himself immediatly puts the book into his bag, not looking at the writing. For a moment, he is tempted to smash the chair and take it with him, knowing he can restore it later. But he quickly realises that gathering furniture, without having a place to stay is rather silly. He scans the curiousa for anything that might seem fun for kobolds... and pockets those items as well.

Next he starts rummaging through the desk, while a chill moves up his spine. Ordered and neat evildoers give him the creeps.

Inside the drawer, Dreifus finds 2 sets of 6 potions and 1 set of 5 scrolls. Each has a simple inscription on it with a letter of the alphabet and nothing more. Obviously the owner had memorised the letters to know what was what.

Searching the desk you find a pouch with gold and platinum glittering coins. You also find 2 coins, a silver and a copper, placed in a separate bag. You also find various provisions required for spellcasting, nothing too expensive or rare but just handy. There is also alot of teaching material and even students papers graded already or prepared for grading.

At the curia you find basically small trophies from magical creatures or small items that probably were more sentimental than valuable. There is something pretty interesting though. There is an ink well at the shape on an eye, the iris being where the ink goes. As you approach to grab it, it blinks and looks at you.

"Dreifus could you study these two coins later on? There might be something interesting about them."Scribly hands over de silver and copper as well as the components and papers. "Just in case you want to get back at some of those students."

Eyeing the eye, Scribly grins. Funny thing! He walks to it and uses one of the cloacks to cover it, before putting it in the bag.

"Yea. Something like that..." he half-giant responds.

You fail to recognise the spell...

When you arrive at the room you see that there is no lock or door handle but a simple red crystal on the door made from the same material as the one you touched at the bar.

Once you touch the crystal the door opens.

It opens onto a 10 x 15 room. There is a bed, a chest of drawers, and a large wooden chest that doubles as a nightstand. There's a rug on the floor and a single small window that lets in light.

There are 782 gold and 12 platinum.

The spellbook basically belonged to Malakai. It was purchased from the man who made it.

The book with the red letters was created and owned by Malakai. You detect magic on it. Divination, Enchantment and Transmutation school.

From the above you learn that Malakai was Lawful Evil, Dark Elf, 278 years old and Male.

The ink well (that tries to hop away from you once you take it out of your bag) was 'created' by a female drow, chaotic evil, 347 years old. It was then gifted to Malakai.
