The snake devil hisses in delight. An arm darts forward at fast speeds and tries to grab Xifra's dagger arm and yank her towards it. If it gets this grip, it'll slide back off the roof and attempt to pull her off too, with the intention of wrapping around her mid air to land on top of her and pin her too the ground. If it gets that far.


Isaac finishes priming the magic pouch he holds, and is ready for any unexpected attacks. Holding it tightly to keep it closed, he walks over to the building where his fiend and the other Seeker fight.

An imp takes note of the newcomers in the alley, and rushes off to tell Isaac. He'll know of them next post.

Corner of Cirrus and Arkham - 2nd storey rooftop



Xifra is trapped by the corpse of the snake devil, the tail wrapped around her and the torso fallen over her own, though she's struggling. Isaac gets the Bloom, and she struggles the harder, as the two Objects remaining redouble their hold on her mind. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) for Xifra, being unable to move her hands weakens her magical arsenal considerably. And probably the snake-devil / Xifra duo has fallen over onto their sides after the devil's death.

Anyone nearby may feel a mental howl of loss and see a fleeting image of the beautiful man in the garden, the Holder of the Bloom.

((I'm not sure if C'nor's guys recognize that this fight is taking place on a 2nd storey rooftop.))

Barricade 2.0 >> More Zombie fighting

After clearing out the bodies at Barricade 2.0, Missy has another soldier hose her down with a flamethrower to sterilize her power armour, and then moves out into the quarantine area, fighting zombies and protecting civilians.

They're still on the roof? My reading of VampireRot's post, and your later one declaring it sucessful unless one of the other Seekers intervened, was that the snake-devil dragged Xifra onto the ground.

Oh right. I was picturing the gun shot as having happened while they were still on the roof, but that seems to have been a later post.

Yep. The snake is what dragged her off the roof, so preventingg them from meeting would have had to happen while she was still up there.

Questions: What is C'nor's thing? Does it have a way through the wind wall?

((And right now with me, Wolfy, Vampire Rot, Magtok, Reinholdt, Zefir, and C'nor in this scene, we need to close it to any new players jumping in, unless there's a very good IC reason for it. Seven players is more than enough.))

It's just a caniform creature the size of a large horse. I don't know whether or not it has a way through the wind wall simply by being large enough not to get thrown, or something similar, but it has no magical, pyschic, or otherwise supernatural means of getting past, no.

I think Murkus has some kind of clinic opening up in the Red Zone soon.

Not that I've seen, but Electronics Asylum might carry cybernetics. You'd have to ask Lost Deep.

Speaking of stores in Mallside, would there be any interest in one that sells high quality statues? I can provide some examples of previously created ones, if that would help.

I was trying to think of something Psi could do for a living. He's a pacifist with a compulsion to build, breaks down if he doesn't, and runs on hydrogen. He's been making cybernetics and prosthetics for the Tire Geal, and so I figured some sort of cybernetic workshop would be the place for him.

I'm also thinking of a character who breeds universes.

Not yet. He went after the Holder of the Rails, but it didn't go well. He ended up with his house being inhabited by some sort of creature for a while from it.

Well I wanted to wait for C'nors guy's action. If he succeeds then there is nothing Zefir needs to do.

There is no place that the Seekers are heading. This fight is the point. In particular, I believe it's a set-up to forcibly remove the Objects from Xifra's grasp.

Furthermore, I did mention that Anya repositioned herself to get closer to Zefir. Seeing as how she leaps across rooftops, she could close the gap easily. Not that it particularly matters. She's not human (if you couldn't already tell) and is not restricted to normal human capabilities.

There is no place that the Seekers are heading. This fight is the point. In particular, I believe it's a set-up to forcibly remove the Objects from Xifra's grasp.

So she asked Jezebel to help her by setting up a situation where Seekers would come after her and take them from her. In Holders canon, she shouldn't have even been able to do this much, but here in the Nexus, Xifra's link to Slaanesh competes enough with her link to the Objects to allow her to fight their influence.

It's pretty much Frodo and the One Ring only without having to wander around the wilderness with Gollum for two films first.

Possibly. But Xifra's terrified that it wouldn't, and that the Objects would contaminate Salome. She's not willing to risk it.

Gollum was pretty awesome, both in book and movie (yay Andy Serkis!) but Mr HT and I find ourselves skipping most of the Gollum scenes when we rewatch the trilogy. I haven't re-read the book in a while. Maybe it's time to get it for Kindle.

As for Cruelty, neither Xifra nor her player have any idea how it will be gotten rid of, if at all. Someone will have to do something clever onscreen that seems likely to work. Or Xifra might be killed. Or she might be stuck with it. No idea how it will turn out.
