Gen was... hell, Gen was never around, much less around for Amanda.
Neither of them were really stable. I had to be the mother figure, the loving stepmom, the one who had time.

It's not because you weren't strong enough, it's because you weren't in the right place at the right time. So what are you going to do, follow around all of your family at once? That's stupid. Yes, letting your kids have freedom means taking the risk that they're going to get hurt without you, but at some point you have to let them grow up and live a good life. Sam is still talking with Dani and Karyana, but another plotclone can be found in the firing range.
