While the movie plays, Sam holds Carrie in her lap and tries to gently stroke her wings.

Carrie relaxes silently. Not asleep, just silently awake. She barely reacts to anything besides the caresses.

Eventually Sam lies down on her back and puts Carrie on top of her so the girl can stretch out and relax more. Have I ever told you you're beautiful?

She smiles weakly.

I'm sorry, love, but I don't know what to do. If your problem can be solved by shooting somebody I'd be able to help you, but... I'm afraid my only use is cuddling right now. She sounds a bit sad herself that she can't do more to help her friend.

Of course. I can help with that. Sam's voice turns a little cold as she stares off into the distance, starting to go somewhere else in her mind to plan. Her submachine gun is enchanted to always fire Holy rounds, which would be useful against demons or devils. Toby would know a great deal about Hell, and young Matthew is some sort of holy warrior that specializes in fighting evil...

Carrie sits up and opens a portal to the Home thread.

She closes the portal and goes back to Sam's lap.

Sam gets up and tries to take Carrie's hand to lead her into her room and onto her bed. I can't even imagine how you must feel right now...

Sam takes her guns, knives, handcuffs, teleporter, multitool, and datapad off of her belt and out of her pockets before lying on the bed and looking up at the younger girl. Oh God... you don't deserve this.

Carrie lays down by her, then turns and buries her head in Sam's shoulder.

The warrior makes an awkward attempt at comforting the goddess through shoulder patting and wing stroking.

Carrie relaxes and deadtimes.

Sam cuddles with Carrie and eventually deadtimes as well.
