Sir Hex's Manor

It is a well known fact that most people spend most of their time being very, very lazy, and that the threat of sudden death can often cause them to briefly overcome that perpetual torpor. The threat of sudden death by mouse, even moreso.

This is why Sir Hex, a man of the strong conviction that a gentleman's feet should stay planted on the ground and therefor not particularly given to leaping about like some sort of infernal bipedal rabbit, somehow finds it within him to vault over the desk-fort, hit the ground running in what can only be described as a hellbent sprint, leap over the bound Hatteress as she attempts to interpose the armchair she's tied to between him and his escape, and slam the door shut with a well-placed kick as he practically dives out if the room.

The kangaroo court peers curiously at the fort, waiting to see if the mouse will emerge.

Riv's Fortress

"Good to see there's at least a few brain cells rattling around in your skull. Take her away, an try not to damage her." This last is directed to Icarus, who goes to pick up the unconscious girl, sling her over his shoulder in a fireman's hold and carry her out of the room.

"Now, to business. Business never seems to end around here. Grabbing a chair, Riv takes a seat, scowling as he flips open his notepad and scribbles something down. "Now, in case you were uninformed, there is a town about so far away from this miserable mountain. I won't tell you the name cause yer smart in the way stupid people can find it in em to be very clever when said wit is for the purpose of perpetrating more stupidity, that is, I don't want you tracking me. Said town is under assault, with lots of innocent boys and girls getting cut up into lots of little bits, this ugly **** being the perpetrator." Riv holds up the notebook so Rael can see, displaying a crude drawing of Javert. And by crude, I mean third-grade level art. Riv isn't exactly an artist.

"Now, I want whatever you can tell me bout him, be honest now, starting with whether or not he's one of your assassin buddies."

Neither will Talnissa, at least not yet, preferring to simply hold Kara close, and try to pull her in for a kiss.

She's successful, and Kara relaxes against her girlfriend, sighing happily as she returns the kiss. Her expression being one of pure bliss and happiness.

And the mechanized dormouse does emerge not a second after Six Hex beats his hasty retreat! The chainsaw-loving bot plucks itself out of wherever it was buried behind the desk and scales the desk-fortress unsteadily! It scans the room for the heat signature of its target. Finding no trace of Sir Hex in this area, it moves over to The Hatteress and attempts to hack through the chains holding her fast to the deadly chair of otherworldly comfortableness!

The Hatteress, meanwhile, exhales, quite relieved that her filthy rich and just plain filthy captor has run away. She decides that it might be best to leave Sir Hex a piece of parchment with the names of some Nexus dating websites on it, so that he won't stalk her and attempt to court her ever again.

Dave begins eating his own half-gallon of ice cream!
He's...really going at it!
And then he notices that Clarissa isn't eating!
"What? Are you not hungry or something?"
He finds this worrisome, seeing as the Clarissa he knows has a bottomless stomach.

Clarissa turns to face Dave as he begins to make noises again. Her baby blue eyes, shining with a naturally inquisitive and comforting light, curiously give his formidable image a cursory looking-over as she attempts to approach him, holding her spoon aloft reverently.

"Chirp?"

Is Clarissa seriously chirping at Dave? Well, she's additionally attempting to nudge him in the ribs with the tip of one of her enormous wings (that are as white as the pure snow cascading down from the heavens and blanketing the ground in a snug layer of frost) while simultaneously pointing at her shiny metal spoon expectantly. That might clarify her intentions a little.

Then comes a calm, rhythmic rapping on the door frame of the primary entrance to the house. Two tall men, both attired in formal black suits and iconic black sunglasses, hauling around two attache cases stand right outside of the house. They are absolutely motionless, apart from the fluid rise and fall of their chests, which indicates that they are breathing.

I wonder why they're here?

Dave smiles.
He has no idea what she's trying to do but she's ADORABLE.
And then the knocking!
"Huh...I'm not expecting anyone..."
He places the ice cream down and goes to the door.
"Can I help you guys? Cause I really don't want to buy anything or convert to a new religion..."
The Church of the Latter Day Devils are annoying as HELL.

Julie's Place

Shooting proton packs at a mirror would be a Very Bad Idea. Mainframebot decides to go for something more direct. It will reach out to the mirror and try to remove it. If it's the kind that's attached directly to the wall, it will try and unscrew the holder thingies. If it's the medicine cabinet type, it will just attempt to yank the mirror door forcibly off the hinges.

Julie's Place

The mirror comes off easily, revealing a blank wall behind it. If any of the group can see through extremely advanced illusions, they'll be able to tell that there is something off about the patch of wall, but not what.

The mirror itself is completely normal except for the ghost radiation it gives off, at least until someone touches the glass. Then it ripples like water, still holding its shape, and the digit or object prodding it will slip through without resistance.

Michalson peers at the blank wall, then raises his staff and muttes a few phrases, releasing an illusion-dispelling spell. It's pretty potent, given his own talent at creating illusions.

One of the suited men curtly replies to Dave in a mildly disinterested tone of voice.

"Dave, we're not here to conduct such petty business."

How do they know his name? That's... That's just unnerving.

"We're here to restore Clarissa to her previous state. We've brought the necessary components to perform the ritual. We would appreciate it if you would comply with our requests. She cares for your health, and if you were damaged due to your reluctance to work with us, she wouldn't be as useful to us as she could be and has been, you understand."

The other one readjusts his tie with his right hand.

In the street behind them, a black van rolls into view. Three clones of the two men conversing with Dave hop out of it, each escorting two captives to the door at gunpoint (they are armed with 10mm pistols, to be exact). The captives are of assorted gender and species, all bound at the wrists. Bags have been drawn over their heads in order to obstruct their sight. All are panicking, most are even weeping.

Clarissa has elected to await Dave's return in the kitchen, playing with her spoon merrily.

Dave held his hand up.
"Juuuuuust one moment please, I'll go get her."
He closes the door and silently locks it thrice over and goes back into the kitchen.
"We're getting out of here. Some men want to kill people to bring old you back."
He kinda wants Angel Clarissa to stick around for a bit.
And so he tries to scoop her up into his arms and jump through a trap-door, going into his hiding place.

Cessie, Harnel and Sakura arrive, the mage beaming at the dryad as she probably is pretty impressed by the keep. "Impressive isn't it? Harnel hired a very talented group to build it for us. It still can't believe it's actually ours. Will probably take me years." She chuckles.

[Gullara]

Sakura looks at the keep with wide eyes. "Wow, yeah. It's awesome. It's so big for just you two." Sakura turns her smiling face on Cessie. "Well, I guess four of you soon."

[Halae]

Harnel grins, unlocking the front gate, "I wonder when we can find our the kid's genders. I really want to see if we're going to have boys, girls, or both." The gate will open to reveal the courtyard in its simplicity, with the smithy and the armory on either side of the entrance.

"I think we can. Sakura, you found out that didn't you?" Cessie asks, her pregnancy just barely visible right now. She's growing though, probably going to end up larger then Sakura is right now. <.<

As Clarissa is lifted up into Dave's arms, she accidentally drops her shiny, shiny spoon! Oh no! The spoon of endless mysteries is no longer in her possession! Clarissa blinks at the spoon in quiet aggravation as she is whisked away to Dave's hiding place!

Meanwhile...

The men at the door, upon trying the handle and finding the door locked, attempt to shoot the hinges of the door off and invade the home, knocking their flailing captives to the ground so that they cannot escape while doing so! One of them remains behind to secure the victims-to-be!

The men will find that as the door falls to the ground, its hinges shot off, a platform with wooden spikes with the tips dipped in human feces comes flying towards them! Even a scratch could mean infection!

Dave moves through the hiding place with Clarissa in his arms.
He's already made up his mind to save those sacrifices.
"I'm going to leave you in here while I go out there and save those people, okay?" he says to Clarissa.

Sakura nods. "Yep. I just went to the hospital after... five months I think it was. The use this machine thing and you can see the baby. Or, babies. We even got a picture to take home."

[Halae]

That stops Harnel in his tracks. Picture? The doctors were able to look inside Sakura's stomach? He couldn't even begin to imagine what that would look like, and they will find him staring, confused, at Cessie's midsection.

Cessie ignores Harnel's stares for now, "I see, well I'm sure then healers can explain it better though. Must be some type of terrestrial magic." (Also called technology) "Jeremy explain some of it to me, I'm sure it's nothing dangerous. So what did this process involve Sakura?" She asks, turning to the dryad.

"Well, first they put this weird, slimy stuff on my stomach. Then they use this... thing and put it on my stomach." Sakura frowns. She doesn't know the terminology. "Anyway, the whole thing is called an ultrasound. The picture of the baby shows up on this... screen. Kinda like a, um, TV. It's not a perfect picture, but it was awesome." The dryad smiles again at the memory.

Harnel doesn't know much of what to make of that. Slimy stuff? How can it see without going inside the woman somehow? Bah, it's a question for another time, "Let's head in, shall we? we can give you a little tour first."

Cessie seems interested however, but it sounded rather physical. Surely she could cast the same type of spell without terrestrial artifacts.

Then again, new spells could be dangerous and she really didn't want to harm the twins... hrm, well she could ponder that later.

"Interesting Sakura..." She says with a thoughtful expression. "But yes, let's take a tour shall we?"

And I guess they take a tour around.

As they are walking around Cessie suddenly telepathically contacts the dryad. Hey Sakura? Could I talk to you in private later? I need to show you something. She sounds slightly embarrassed.

Yay, touring around. I should probably reread that description sometime.

Sakura glances at Cessie curiously. Okay, sure. She wonders what this could be about. Ah, no use worrying about it. Time to pay attention to the tour. It really is a nice place.

And now that I'm thinking of it... Sakura still has her rather embarrassing outfit that she's holding close to her chest. No letting Harnel see anything beyond that is fuzzy and coloured black and white. =x

Once the tour is concluded, they'll probably be on the top floor, which is the library. As they finish, Harnel says, "Alright, I've got a project I'm working on in the forge, and you two probably don't want me in on any private conversations you might have, so I'll be in the forge if you need me."

Harnel waves and goes further up the stairs, to the roof. Falling from a height is quicker than going back down all those stairs, and safe too due to wings. This'll leave the ladies to their own devices.

After removing the mirror from the wall, Mainframebot lowers it, holding it parallel to the floor. When it's about two feet up, it releases it, intending for it to shatter.

"He's gone now, I don't think you need to be embarrassed about it anymore now Sakura. Besides, it's Harnel. You know each other." She says with a smile.

"He's far more comfortable then me when it comes to such things in fact... I think."

[Gullara]

"I dunno. I still don't really want to show him." Sakura does relax her grip around the outfit, however.

I still find it endlessly amusing that Cessie is more comfortable talking about sex than Sakura.

"So what do you want to show me." Sakura quickly shifts the topic away from her present.

After removing the mirror from the wall, Mainframebot lowers it, holding it parallel to the floor. When it's about two feet up, it releases it, intending for it to shatter.

Julie's Place

The mirror hits the ground with a splat, spreading out thin and forming beads of mercury. The frame quickly falls into a puddle of the substance and disappears from sight.

The puddle expands just to the edge of Mainframebot's feet, and then halts its expansion, quivering in place.

Then slowly, the mirror begins to reconstitute. If something isn't done by the time the next post is finish it will seem to be a perfectly normal pane of glass once more, only now the frame is missing.

Michalson's spell is ineffective. He completely fails to abolish the illusion on the wall, because it is linked to something else here and can't be broken unless that is destroyed first. Not that he should be able to tell that without divining it somehow. It should seem like a perfectly ordinary patch of wall.

Looks like no illusions here... unless there are and my spell just didn't work. Michalson glances at the mirror. And by the look of that mirror, I'm betting on the former. He reaches out with his staff and tries to prod the wall with it.

Blame her sisters for that, Isolde especially. Being asked how a half-dragon is doing in bed isn't exactly the most comfortable of subjects.

"I... there was actually two things I wanted to show you Sakura but neither of them are going to be very comfortable." She admits awkwardly as she pulls out the calendar from her bag of holding. "I'm not sure what this is." She says, while looking at it. "It's not me at least, I got it from the Christmas sack." Well, she had no idea what to call it.

She slowly hands over it to the dryad. "I'm honestly not sure about it, it feels... false somehow."

Sakura sets down her own present nearby and takes the calendar. She giggles when she sees the first picture, and is soon flipping through the rest. "Wow, Cessie. You look really sexy in these pictures. I bet Harnel will love it." Sakura giggles again before offering the calendar back to her.

The mage coughs before holding on to the calendar, "That may be, but it's not exactly the image I'd like to spread publicly however." She looks at the first image again with some hesitation. "I guess I would have to trust Harnel with it, that's what am supposed to do right?" Her trust for her husband when it came to certain things were quite low.

"Oh you know he's not going to be spreading that around. Don't be silly, he'll want to keep it all to himself." Sakura says jokingly, giving Cessie's arm a playful little shove. "So what's the other thing you wanted to show me?" She asks curiously.
