You'd think that Prometheus, who's presumably rather intelligent, would realize it'll be easier for Gordon to fight him, especially with Remnant's aid, than it would be to fight Remnant, and thus Gordon is almost certainly going to take that option...

You see, I'm fairly sure there's more to it than that. For one thing, attacking Prometheus is effectively attacking Riv and the Excelsior Corporation, who are absurdly powerful, almost to the degree that Remnant is. Except that against Remnant, AMEN would still have Prometheus' help.

What? You think Prometheus is going to tell anyone what his plan is? Heck no. He's at least smart enough not to gloat. Besides, AMEN kidnapped and mindraped Vasquez's boyfriend. That's enough to start a war right there. Gordon has no reason to attack Prometheus that doesn't apply equally to Magtok, the Moffs, Becky, Rocid and Stu, except that in Prometheus's case it was intentional. Which Gordon doesn't know.

Actually, Excelsior's army is a lot smaller now. The Drones are mostly dead, with only about two dozen left, the Abominations only just went back into production. Other than that, Javert would have to contend with about eight mages, some construction bots, a single tank with a bunch of holes in it's armor, the entire Flight Squadron, and a pissed of Hydratroll. So, maybe possible, if he picked them off one by one.
