Magtok nods, making a mental note to contact Mouse later and find out just how much info she's got on Riverside's most prominent vampire family.

"As luck would have it, they are hiring mercenaries. You'll have no trouble at all making your way inside, I think. Earning enough trust to get Dippy to hand over his secrets though, that'll be a little tricky. Take as much time as you need, but understand that I might seek out alternative routes of finding out about this rat thing for myself if you meet with any particularly bothersome delays."

Myrmidon will stand up and walk to the bar and come back with a glass of lemonade and a glass of cherryade. "Which one do you want?" Myrmidon holds them out so they're equidistant. Which is easier for him since both his arms are on the same side.

Um...that one, please. She points to the cherryade. The color must have caught her interest or something.

Well, that's handy. I've only ever had cherryade once, and that a long time ago. So I can't remember how nice it is (or isn't).

Myrmidon hands the cherryade over and moves to sit down where he shall drink his lemonade. His first mouthful surprises him- he wasn't expecting the bubbles.

I don't believe I've had it either. Sounds like something I'd try, though.

AJ takes a sip of hers. Wow. That's good. What is it?

If it helps, I think it's like lemonade, but tastes of cherry .

"It's cherryade. This is lemonade, and the bubbles went up my nose." That's unnecessary information, but probably true- he can't remember drinking it before and had too much in his first mouthful.

"Yes, it did. Very weird. But at least I now have a nose for bubbles to go up, rather than the eye they removed from there." He had nine eyes! Two in the usual place, three in his cheeks, one where the nose should be and the rest were scattered unevenly across his neck.

"Indeed, yes." Myrmidon smiles at the pun, though doesn't find it especially funny.

It doesn't take long for AJ to finish her drink.

That was a great meal. Thank you, Myrmidon. She gives him a warm smile.

Myrmidon also quickly finishes his drink. He doesn't guzzle it down, but he's not sipping either.

"Yes, great food aided immeasurably by sitting opposite a beautiful woman." Myrmidon's smiling too. He'll stand up and pull AJ's chair back before leaving money on the table to pay for their meal. Or did they pay when they ordered? Gah, can't remember.

Eh, I don't remember. The food gets paid for, though. That's for sure.

AJ beams a little at his compliment. Aw...thank you.

Once the money situation is taken care of, AJ turns to Myrmidon. So...maybe we should go for a walk now?

Myrmidon also won't let AJ pay, unless she's more determined to pay than he is and it's the only way to avoid an arguement.

"I only say the truth. Except when I lie, but I wasn't lying then." Unless he's lying now, too. "A walk sounds good, Ariana." Myrmidon will shrug his rucksack on and go to hold AJ's right hand. Although if she upgrades it to a hug he'll hug back.

AJ will offer to pay, but concedes at Myrmidon's insistence.

She won't go for a hug now, but gladly takes his hand.

And at that, they will (probably) walk to Inside! And then, unless Myrmidon objects, AJ will lead them to Outside!

She likes to outdoorsy area better than the city, anyways.

Too Outside! Where they could have had a picnic if Myrmidon had just thought of it. Ah well, maybe next time, now they know there's food they both like.

"Excellent." she replies to the first part about them hiring.

"I understand, and appreciate a flexible strategy. Payment is as we go, not upon completion, correct?" she clarifies that point.

"Unless you have any other information, I ought to go and begin then. How should I keep in contact with you?" A final, important, inquiry.

"Take a day off each week to wander about Inside or whatever else happens to catch your fancy. Saturday, maybe. If you're not being followed, a messenger will find you, see to it that you get your pay, deliver any information you have, and let you know if I have anything to say about the project. Try not to be anywhere that's too crowded, and if you absolutely have to have a roof or anything over your head, I'd rather it was transparent, as my messenger will be searching for you from the skies at the appointed time and place."

Magtok shakes his head.

"That's all, though. Just do your best, and I'm sure you won't disappoint."

Dorota will lead Crissy there, where Sizewell is waiting patiently as only a golem with nothing to do can.

Crissy follows, and smiles broadly, hurrying to give Sizewell a hug as only a blonde half-elf with motherly feelings torwards a golem can!

Sizewell tentatively raises one massive clay arm and wraps it awkwardly around Crissy.

"Hi, Sizewell. Sorry to leave you alone so long." Crissy says brightly. "Are you, like, ready for more lessons?"

"I must exercise my horse regularly, train it on varied terrain. I will be riding through the foothills of the mountains for that twice weekly. It will be easy to see if I'm followed." She sets up the time and place very practically.

"I greatly appreciate your confidence." is her reply to his reassurance. Then she calls Thein over and heads out, unless she is stopped.

Is fine. Lessons good. Want more lessons. Sizewell nods to the best of his ability. The runes of movement on his neck allow for it, even thought it shouldn't be actually possible.
Dorota beams and picks up a book from a table. Oh, there's something I forgot to tell you, Crissy. I met a wizard at the library, and she's also going to build a golem as a guardian and caretaker for children. She says if he and Sizewell could meet it might be good for their development.

Crissy giggles happily, then looks to Dorota in surprise.
"Oh? That'll be so like totally awesome! I didn't even know we had a library here," the half-elf admits embarassedly.

There is a public library in Inside, yes. I went there to find something about how golems think and I met two people, one of whom was researching the very same thing. She decides not to use the word "sentience".
