The woman does a quick check to see if those names show up in any of Remnant's records. Especially anything very recent. She does suspect she knows what the problem is, though.

"Riverside? That might be the problem. Apparently riots broke out all over the city there. They're supposed to be not as violent as you'd think, but it probably stopped them from leaving the city."

[Lost_Deep]

Calling

"Oh no... what do I do? I don't know what to do. Please, anything you can do? Anything?"

She's obviously very nervous now. The names are on the records, but nothing recent. You know, where the live, the fact that they have a daughter, but no bodies or whatnot. This bodes ill.

[Gullara]

[Calling]

I expect Remnant wouldn't have any records on people aside from things that directly pertain to Remnant business. Such as crime reports and such and such.

"Okay, I might be able to get in touch with the authorities there. Do you know what part of Riverside they went to? And in the meantime, do you have any close friends or relatives to stay with? Or will you be fine alone?"

Calling

Nope, no crime reports. No logs on any accidents, fires, even traffic tickets. They lived a fairly uninteresting life, it seems.

"No, don't really know where they are, and I don't know anyone to stay with. I... think I should be okay alone for a bit. I don't know how long... I don't have a job so eventually stuff will start running out, but I don't think that will be for a bit yet."

[Gullara]

[Calling]

"If they're just caught up in the city because of the riots, I'm sure they'll be back before that." The woman says as reassuringly as possible.

[Lost_Deep]

Calling

"Okay. Please, keep an eye out for them? I'm worried. If you hear anything, please let me know. Please."

She's trying to calm down, but it's obvious she's very worried.

[Gullara]

[Calling]

"I'll let you know straight away when something comes up. I promise. Just sit tight for now and try not to worry too much."

Iamar is dragging a Spitter along her return to Remnant from a bakery, accompanied by Hunter.

Calling

"Okay. Good luck. Bye?" Is that it, or is there something more?

[Gullara]

[Calling]

"Goodbye." After the woman hangs up, she slumps back in her chair and runs her hand trough her dark green hair. Alright, time to see if she can find anything. It's the least she can do, and at least she can get them under someone's radar.

She'll make a few calls, trying to figure out what might have happened. Quite a while later one such number that she tracks down connects to a location in Northside.

Calling

A man picks up the phone. "Hello? How can I help you? Is it an emergency?"

[Gullara]

[Calling]

"My name is Erani, and I'm with Remnant. We've had a missing persons report here, and they were last heard of going to Riverside. I'm aware of the current situation, but perhaps you've heard anything about a Michal and Sarah Henthimous?" She asks.

[Lost_Deep]

Calling

"The Names do ring a bell. Lemme see..." there is the sound of a file cabinet and a ruffling of papers "Michal and Sarah Henthimous. Found dead in a hotel suite, COD... uh... mental cascade? I don't know what that means, don't ask. Okay... I can forward you to the coroner, if you want to know the details. She isn't busy right now."

[Gullara]

[Calling]

****. Erani sighs. That's not the news she wanted. "Yeah sure, put me through to her."

[Lost_Deep]

Calling

"Okay. One moment, please."

There is a moment while the call transfers.

"Hello, Dr. Muri speaking. How may I help you?"

[Gullara]

[Calling]

"Hi, my name is Erani. I'm calling about Michal and Sarah Henthimous. I was informed their bodies were found in a hotel room."

[Lost_Deep]

Calling

"Oh."

"That's not a happy business. The pair... so, we think they got there and let nature take it's course. Yes, that is a double entendre. From there, at the moment of climax they just died. I have some mad science tech here... looked into it, their brains were cross-wired in the oddest way... literally, rigged to fail if they did that. It was obviously purposeful, no way it was natural, but... it would have needed magic or something to do."

"Creepy, if you ask me. No one here like to talk about it for... obvious reasons"

[Gullara]

[Calling]

"...Hells." Erani rubs her eyes. That might mean the sick **** that did this to them is in Inside. "Is there anything else you can tell me?"

[Lost_Deep]

Calling

"I don't think I can tell you much more. I don't know if they died in agony or what, unless you have a specific question there isn't much more to add."

"We, uh, have them on ice over here. Maybe after things clear up we could send them over for a proper burial? This isn't really the time to talk about that, though."

[Gullara]

[Calling]

"Yeah... they had a daughter. Right, we'll be in touch then. Assuming the person that did this is from Inside, we may need to conduct our own investigation. My superiors will have to arrange it and talk with your people further." Erani says.

Calling

"My superiors are a little busy now, but I'm sure they'll be wiling to cooperate with you later. Good luck dealing with the daughter."

If Erani doesn't want anything else, Dr. Murai will say goodbye and hang up.

[Gullara]

[Calling]

Erani does the same. She slumps back into her chair. Okay, she needs a coffee break before making this call. It's going to be tough.

After she's done with that, and ready as she'll ever be, she picks up the phone to call Gerri back... No. She puts it down again and instead sets about trying to track down the girl's address. Best if she does it in person.

Iamar is dragging a Spitter along her return to Remnant from a bakery, accompanied by Hunter.

On the entrace Iamar might run into the giant stone scorpion. He wonders why she is dragging a spitter behind her.

"Hi, do you need some help with that?"

Calling

Looking in the right places (like the phonebook) will result in the address quickly enough. It would be simple enough to take a long walk, or a short ride on the public transportation, to get there.

[Gullara]

[Calling]

Erani won't be going until she's done her shift, which is thankfully in not too long. When she is done, she will head out of the base and toward the address she found.

They're both rather silent.

"Thank you for the offer, but I will be just fine," Iamar replies to Topvir. She will take the Spitter to an Interrogation Room, while beckoning for Hunter to follow.

Penal Company

A scrawny elf who seems to have barely reached adulthood is processed into the penal company. Word gets around before long that he's in for murdering his father. His small figure and obvious nervousness soon attracts the natural bullies, especially when they find that their taunts are affecting him - particularly 'kinslayer' and 'patricide'. Finally he loses his temper and swings at one of the bullies without much effect - after all, all of the members who have been here for a while, are fairly well trained in combat.

The return punch knocks the elf to the ground. Then the kicking starts.

Penal Company

Cassius watches for a moment before closing his eyes with a sigh and getting up. He'd hoped to be able to relax after his shoulder, before his family arrived to see him, but that hope was broken. He'd have to intervene before the kid died. Cassius wasn't too concerned with his own safety since shapeshifting provided protection on it's own. He didn't bother trying to reason with any of the men, since speaking rarely worked. Only action did.

Unless Cassius is stopped, the man kicking the elf will find himself being grabbed by the back of his neck and thrown against the far wall.

Penal Company

The bully hits the wall, and falls. He gets up and turns to counter-attack, but when he sees it was Cassius, he slinks away.

"What'd you do that for? The kid had it coming!" a dwarven prisoner says.

"Elf-lover," Leah says, rolling her eyes. "Probably thinks he's pretty."

Nobody seems willing to fight Cassius over the right to beat up the elf. In fact, the group is slowly dispersing. The elf is curled up on the ground, conscious, but bleeding..
