[Nexus] OOC 29: Since When Have Titles Been All That Important, Anyway?

The Masks' Charity Ball and Auction has started. This is a plot I had in mind for a long time now. Basically, invitations have been sent out to notably wealthy or attractive (or at least generally notable to the Masks IC) people to come. Now, I have a list of a few PCs who'd definitely be getting one, but if you want your PCs to have been given one, please post here saying so. However, I'd like to approve it before you post at the event.

The said goal of the event is to raise money for The Masks to help rebuild portions of The Red Zone and to further increase the standard of living in the area. After a show, dancing, and feasting, the money will be raised through a fake "Slave Auction" where volunteers go up on stage and auction themselves off for ungodly sums of money in order to "serve" their buy for 24-48 hours depending on what the "Slave" agreed to. They cannot be forced to do anything illegal or unwanted, and all the Buyers will have to sign a contract saying that they agree to such a rule.

Now, some may be tempted to bring violence, but as an OOC rule, right now, violence will not be tolerated at the plot. If it does happen IC, it will be responded to very very harshly. As for those who don't receive invitations, you can try to sneak in, but please do so IC and don't Godmod the security. It will be tight for good IC reasons.

That said, I do not object to people trying to investigate the mysterious Masks, but please tell me OOC or via PM if you wish to do so.

Also, for those who hook up, please use the connected MagHotel. Several floors have been reserved for Event Goers.

That's just a preliminary list. More can be added. That said, there is a very strict dress code. Dresses, suits, and other similar formal attire. All armor and weapons are banned from the event. It is a charity event and maybe and investigative scene, not a trap. Again, any attempt to start random violence will not be tolerated. I've been planning this for too long to have it devolve into a random fight.

Now, all those invited are not expected to bid or be bid upon, but a list of "Slaves" will be kept here in OOC.

As for a +1, he'd probably invite along one of his current Nexusian followers, Irena or Nadia. Of course, one without the other is a bit odd, but SC and Ghar can fight over that one.

I am unbelieveably tempted to create a pair of characters solely for the purposes of crashing this party. Only problem is, I do not think I'm smart enough to do it. It's really hard to play characters more clever than yourself.
So it's either the duo of sexy cat burglars if I want to try for clever, or the Genie and her boy if I just want in on the party.

The Modified One put away the shrink ray and promptly marched away, his intimidating red eyes burning with hate at being judged with such prejudice while he went off to find something better to do.

Then whips out a sniper rifle out of nowhere, aims it at the gnomes head, and fires.

The robogoblin may find the actual firing of the sniper rifle impeded by the sword that's rather suddenly being swung at his arm, by a very annoyed-looking Tlannae.

"Could you at least try to kill each other somewhere out of sight, rather than in the middle of a public street?"

For now, it looks like Mayhala has rather little she needs to do, and thus, naturally enough, does rather little, though she does make a few hidden shadow-knives.

The scorpion noticed that he withdraw the shrink staff and draw another weapon. It's clear for him that the gnome one did try to help him and therefor he should help him as well. The sorpion starts walking in the line between the gnome and the goblin robot. He won't be able to make it in time, if the goblin still shoots.

I think Andy will come to the event. I just would need to clear some things.

Weapons are forbidden, but what do I do with his arm and the Lantern Ring. Actually the arm could count as a weapon and with the ring he would be able to crate weapons. He uses the arm as an replacement for his lost one. After all he is good but I wanted to clear that befor it comes to an IC controversial.
And would a lab coat fullfill the dress code?

And a question: One of my chars namly Zefir is running a firework service. He would try to get hired for that to get invited. He works under a pseudonym (C4) and wears a mask. If he is able to come in he will investigate the mysterious Masks.

A lab coat is most assuredly not formal wear. The whole purpose of a lab coat is to protect regular clothing from getting splatted with chemicals.

@Zefir: No, a lab coat would not be allowed at all. As for the power ring, that would count as weapons, but a prosthetic limb is allowed, but that means he'll be heavily scrutinized.

As for Zefir and fireworks. No. This isn't the sort of event where fireworks are even mentioned. He wouldn't be contacted or invited.

@Orchestra: Since I didn't say it before, security is tight because of two reasons. First, this is MagGLoG. Magtok probably has the place sealed tightly. Secondly, The Masks are a secret group of Slaanesh Cultists, so have psykers and such helping. That's how security would be tight.

Security at the doors consist of heavy frisking/pat down, and (secretly) an Empath sensing for mischievous and/or hostile intent. There will be more working the crowds and keeping tabs on the guests too.
