Rot raises an eyebrow. AMEN has never done anything like this before! Ilpholin and Magtok must be much more paranoid and unsure of their own power than past leaders. Or smarter. Either one, the vampire isn't sure he likes this new AMEN. The blood contracts were classic!

"Very well. Who would you like to talk to first?"

I imagine that they can both be done at the same time with the magic of OOC Convenience!

And so the machine guns are destroyed. They weren't designed to be acid proof. However, the desk is still standed, locked up tight.

So did any bullets manage to pierce the desk? If so, then Clarissa is probably wounded. If not, then Clarissa has expended her daily stroke of good fortune.

Either way, Clarissa will make her way over to the front of the desk. She'll whip out her handy-dandy lockpick for a second, look it over thoughtfully, and then casually absorb it into her physical form. Mmmm. Lockpick.

She's got a far better plan than using a regular old lockpick on the desk!

She'll attempt to turn her back on the lava wall and jam her shapeshifting finger into the front of the lock in the slot where a key would normally go. She hopes that she can exploit her talents to unlock the lock by fitting her finger to it as though it were the key!

[Clarissa's Sunny and Foreboding Lair!]

Dave and Becky should just try to get along and share Clarissa's affections! She doesn't even register them as competitors, Becky being her dear friend and Dave being her husband and all. Clarissa likes competition, though! She's going to spring a surprise on Dave that might bring more of that into their private and public lives soon enough!

Clarissa's tails were grabbing at whatever was warm nearby. Since Dave's thermal signature was the closest and the greatest, they went after him but not Becky. So drunk is Clarissa that her actions are being primarily dictated by her most basic instincts. Now that she has gotten a firm, comfy hold of her human teddy bear, her fluffy wings are going to try to pop out and attempt to maneuver into a relaxed position where they rest protectively, loosely, and comfortably about Dave.

Yep. Hope he used the restroom earlier. Clarissa probably isn't going to let him up for anything for the duration of her nap.

"My master would love to talk to you as well I'm sure. You can find him in Melechenar floating above riverside." Cybil replies strictly.

Lucky she is yes. However, the desk's lock is a bit different. Yes, it needs a key, but Gordon uses a key that is charged with electricty. Without that charge, the desk isn't going to open up without a bit of force.

"I see. Well either will do. My office is this way." Ilpholin says, leading the way. She can split off magically along the way to deal with them both if they so choose.

Becky just sticks her tongue out at Dave, shaking her head and going to sit down on the edge of the bed! Of course, this moves her closer to Clarrisa and her snuggle-heat-sensors too....

"Really. That bad, huh?" Ilpholin briefly wonders what that'd be like. She's lived in the Nexus for the most part all her life, so it's hard to visualize. Even if she got stuck in one of the least friendly areas.

"Well, if you aren't planning on returning, why do you continue to follow the orders from that place?"

Ilpholin's Office - Zefir

"That goal wasn't only goals I had to do their. They became my life and if I just drop them I wouldn't be myself anymore."

"Alright. So, where do you hope to see AMEN in five years?" Ilpholin asks, as they get close to wrapping things up.

"As the only Acro in the Nexus. Watchtower including since there name isn't an acro."

Ilpholin's Office - Zefir

"I see." Ilpholin says, raising a slight eyebrow. Lofty goal.

"Well I think I've learned everything I need to. Thanks for your time."

[Zefir]

Ilpholin's Office - Zefir

Zefir will then stand up and leave.
She may think she knows all.

With ample application of Handwavium, Rot is soon in an interview. The vampire glances around Ilpholin's office, looking a bit bored. He takes a seat and looks expectantly at Ilpholin.

Ilpholin's not stupid enough to believe she knows all. =x

[Ilpholin's Office - Rot]

"Again I have to congratulate you on surviving. Did you have any questions for me before we start?" She asks.

[Security Room]

Mister Squiggles, finally finished repairing HALlelujah, steps over to the door area and begins working on it and the nearby wall.

[Ilpholin's Office - Rot]

"Thank you. One learns to survive if you've been around as long as I have."

Rot gives a fanged smile, then shakes his head.

"I have no questions."

[Shadowcaller]

[Ilpholin's Office - Cybil]

More hand-waving happens and Cybil and Ilpholin ends up sitting next to each other. The earth vampire looks slightly bored, looking around in Ilpholin's room.

"Feel free to ask anything. I got nothing to hide." She tells the drow/demon.

[Reinholdt]

[Ilpholin's Office - Rot]

"I'll have to admit, having worked with you on several occasions, I don't really have too much to ask you. But what would you consider your ideal AMEN? Where do you see us heading in five years?" Ilpholin asks. It's about the only thing she can think of to ask Rot. His interview was more of a procedure than a necessity.

[Ilpholin's Office - Cybil]

"Alright. Start off by telling me a bit more about yourself and the people you work for." Ilpholin requests.

[Ilpholin's Office - Rot]

"I want AMEN to be strong. Expand our influence, destroy our enemies, and enslave the common folk of the land."

Rot's smile widens into a wicked grin. The enslaving bit, and the feeding that goes with it, is the goal the vampire truly has.

"In five years? We should have conquered Riverside or Inside, or even both, by then. If not, I expect we'll at least have great influence in both cities."

[Shadowcaller]

[Ilpholin's Office - Cybil]

"Not much to tell really. I was born on Elshar in a small village on the sixth hour, so small in fact it didn't have a name. I don't really remember that much about my childhood besides when I was dragged underneath the earth. After that I was taken in by Lavthos who freed me from the hunger and was made into his knight." She pauses for a moment. "Then Lavthos was banished and he ended up here since there were people wanting to kill him in Elshar, I was the only one he trusted enough to take with him. Ever since he have tried to recover a fraction of what he lost in this world. That's the short version at least, I'm sure Lavthos could tell you more if you ask."

[Reinholdt]

[Ilpholin's Office - Rot]

Huh. Perhaps she underestimated Rot a bit. He actually has goals.

"Well then, you'll like what we're doing. Expansion is the name of the game. We're going to start small and build big. However, for the time being, we're not going to be messing with Inside. Too big a chunk to fit into our mouths so to speak."

[Ilpholin's Office - Cybil]

"I see. You're grateful to Lavthos for freeing you then?" Probably a supernatural compulsion as well. But if she's the only one Lavthos trusted, then it was probably more than that.

[VampireRot]

[Ilpholin's Office - Rot]

"Okay."

Rot frowns a bit.

"You're not going to bother Inside at all? Remnant has only a fraction of the strength of the old empire. I agree that we can't defeat them outright, but leaving them alone would be an even bigger mistake. We should at least harass them a bit."

Like... say, murder civilians every now and again! The vampire's favorite hunting grounds happen to be Inside.

[Main Room]

I guess you could accuse The Moff of getting predictable, but this time when he lurks into the base after months of absence, he's wearing a...

We've done the "wearing un-Moffish clothing" thing before, haven't we?

Fine. This time when he sidles through the door, he looks un-Moffishly uncomfortable. He doesn't spend a lot of time looking uncomfortable, and he's visibly out of practice. To the room at large,
"Did we win? 's he gone?"

((Full disclosure, I intend to formally retire The Moff and come up with a new, non-Moff related AMEN character. Not even the faintest idea of what variety, though, and I think at this point I'm pretty much incapable of playing a character that isn't at least a little Moff-ish...

Also, I do regret my unannounced hiatuses. Sometimes real life happens and I'm incapable of devoting any length of time to stuff like this, and other times, my myriad anxieties and insecurities get the better of me and RPing simply isn't in the picture.

Y'all have been undeservedly good to me, and while I can't exactly promise I'll be around consistently, I intend to stick around more. Thanks for your collective tolerance and friendship over the last eighteen months or so.))

"That's certainly one strategy. Beat the hornet's nest with a stick until they try to bomb us. However, we're going to take a different route. We are going to let them be for a very long time. Of course, while we're getting stronger, they'll grow lethargic, weak. In time, the playing field will be leveled appropriately. Until then, Inside is off limits."

Rot can harass Riverside instead!

Rot frowns. He is unconvinced, but it's not really worth arguing. He'll have to find some new hunting grounds. Or just disregard Ilpholin's instructions and hunt in Inside anyway. <.<

"Very well. Is there anything else? Anyone specific you need eaten?"

The vampire likes to help! If he's going to eat people, he might as well eat people who his friends want him to eat.

[Ilpholin's Office - Rot]

"Not quite at the moment, though I'm sure some of Riverside isn't happy with me. I'll let you know as soon as I do." Ilpholin says. She is forming some ideas in her mind, but isn't ready to spring Rot on someone yet.

"Though, I do have some crystals that need to be retrieved and I'm pretty sure they'll be guarded by people that you can and should eat. If you're interested."

"Oh? Who are they, and what do the crystals do?"

Rot is intrigued!

"I can't give you all the details, but when the ugly halfling guy gets back, he can tell you everything you need to know. The crystals apparently let you make just about anything with the right application of technology." Which Ilpholin thinks pretty much applies to most anything anyways. Just ask Devi!

The Moff feels that great mixture of relief and horror at the good news. How good a job he does hiding it is UP TO YOU, AMERICA. Anyhow, The Moff rolls a Deadpan save against Stu. "Shame, isn't it? Could be arranged, though..." His heart doesn't seem to be in it. "Nice catchin' up, but I gotta talk to Ilphy. Or Mags, if he's around. Any idea where they're at?"

"She keeps interviewing people in that room over there." Stu points out Ilph's office. Despite the fact that you can't point at it from the Main Room.

"I mean, I see people go in, but I never see them come out. Sometimes I wonder if... wait a second, what can be arranged? I'm no flower arrangement!"

Haven't seen Magtok in a while though.

"Yeah, 'arrangement' has the wrong connotations. More of the opposite, right?" The Moff slinks off with a wistful half-smile.

Aaaand bangs on Ilphy's office door until granted entry. :U
