    Once they have deemed the initial rooms empty and safe, Ryx is ready to check the doors to the inner rooms of the keep. He stands at the door (AF18) and listens for anything on the other side as his right hand sneaks into his belt pouch. After checking to see if the door is locked, the elven warrior quickly looks over his shoulder, as he pulls something out of his pouch, "Everyone ready?" his asks and he slowly opens the door.

    Rayen winks at Axara as they walk into the keep. "I make sure to turn the added effect off first."

    She looks around the room, surprised that no one seems to be waiting for them, then turns her attention to the two doors in the main room that they have not explored yet. "So, which way first?" She looks around for Ryx, "You hear anything interesting through the doors?"

    Everyone gets ready as Ryxikor slowly opens the door in front of him after having listened trough, checked for trap and see if it was locked. As he opens it, he sees an enormous room which must have once been111 impressive in it grandeur. Elegant slender columns support the beautifully arching ceiling except where the columns have crumbled and the ceiling has begun to collapse. Four statues are set into alcoves around two walls and one statue stand on a raise platform in a corner of the room.

    The most striking feature, however, is a giant orb of swirling shadow near the center of the room, which extends huge black tendrils like shadowy cyclones out almost to the walls. The tendrils writhe and twist but remain more or less in the same location. They seem to such the light from the air.

    A large closed iron door on the opposite wall seems the only access to the rest of the keep.

    Several creatures also lurk in this room and they look ready for a fight. Ryxikor can identify 5 Shadar-kai. He sees a man who looks like a shadar-kai but is wearing a cloak in addition to a spiked chain. At the end of the room is what look like a female cross between a lizardfolk and a black dragon, except something seems wrong about her/it.

    Maesyn gulps as he spots the half-dragon who could only be Kersarra Shadowscale. But more ominously, she wasn't even their biggest concern at the moment.

    He had definitely not been prepared for this so soon. He'd thought there'd be more of the keep to explore before encountering the source of the evil.

    A small gasp can be heard, from the elf, when he sees everything in the room, ready to fight. Ryx quickly regains his composure, drops something back into his pouch., and starts to formulate a plan. Holding his short bow, the elven warrior retrieves an arrow as he moves to the next door, not wanting to be forced into the group moving through the one entrance. He slings the door open and fires his bow at the nearest shadar kai.

    Suddenly a light goes on in Quill complex mind and he remembers reading that book in accounting class about shadow energy and the plane of shadow. He recognizes the orb as a portal to the Plane of Shadow. The tendrils themselves are harmless other than providing cover. He also remembers that creatures of shadows such as the shadar-kai can see through the tendrils. They offer concealment to them but not to the heroes.

    Axara starts an incantation, blessing all the heroes, making them all feel more courageous.

    "A clear example of a planum orbis nimio umbra, a orb that is a gateway to the elemental plane of shadow. It's recurvas umbra shadow tendrils are non-hazardous but they will be providing concealment--
    However as the shadar-kai are linked to the shadow plane it won't affect there eyes as it does ours" "So the course of taking cover isn't advisable


    In the excitment the gnome forgets to slow his talking speed a bit.

    Rayen looks over Ryx's shoulder into the room and takes note off all of the new enemies. Then she turns her attention to the half dragon in the back of the room. She studies the woman/thing, trying to figure out why she has this feeling of wrongness when looking at it/her.

    Quill tells the rest of the group what he has remembered about the rob, the tendrils and the Plane of Shadow.

    Axara spits “Shar! This is Shar at work, I bet!

    Rayen looks at the half-dragon and notices that she seems to remind her of the shadowslain lizardfolks, as if she was touched by the Plane of Shadow but also …. dead.

    Ryxikor moves to the next door and opens it, not wanting to be the lone target in the room.

    hopefully it burns away the shadow that it uses as cover.
    Any other enemy that gets close to him 10 ft one of the dancing lights will go above it's head to. the idea is to mark as many as possible.

    "I have a crazy idea to take out the caster (T) and maybe the half dragon if you all will cover me." Rayen says after figuring out what it is about the half dragon that bugs her. "You know, give the shadar-kai something to focus on other than what I will be doing." She winks at the men but does not elaborate on her idea in case her words are carried into the room.

    After she talks to them, she moves to the wall next to the door and says, "Lamot" in draconic. She feels her fingers start to tingle with the spell. The she glances around the edge of the wall to double check the locations of the leader and dragon woman.

    Savin looks at back at the others with an arched eyebrow and a wry grin as he lets his chain slide out of his right hand, dragging behind him while held in his left hand, as he reaches over his shoulder for a javelin.

    "It would seem they think to stop us?" he yells back as he runs in the room and lets his javelin fly.

    Savin enters the room and throws a javelin at a shadar-kai. The javelin pierces the tendril and buries itself in the creature from the plane of shadows.

    Quill uses his magic to make lights appears ahead of SK2. The lights seem to fail in their attempt to cancel the concealment effect of the tendrils.

    Maesyn cast a light spell on a silver coin and throws it in the room. The room gets lit but the concealment provided by the tendrils is still there.

    Axara enters the room next to Savin and casts a spell on the arcanist, trying to eliminate his shield spell. Sadly the Lady of Mystery does not grant her the power to do so.

    Axara spits “Mystra! I need your help! Now!

    Rayen moves next to the wall and pronounce a draconic work allowed her to climb wall like a spider.

    Ryxikor unleashes an arrow that hit his target, even with the concealment provided by the tendrils.

    The enemies attack. A volley of arrows leave the shadar-kai bow toward Axara, Ryxikor and Savin. Axara and Savin are hit by arrows for maximum damages. Kessara throws a javelin and misses again. She hisses loudly and seems to get anfrier. The shadar-kai leader murmurs a few words of magic and magic missiles fly and hit the Mystran cleric.

    The elven warrior, figuring everyone would pour into the room and attack, rushes in and makes his way behind a column, hoping to use it as cover. As he moves to the column, Ryx grabs another arrow and readies it to fire. Once he stops behind his pillar, he turns and fires on the same shadar kai he hit moments before.

    The gnome illusionist opens a scroll from his scrollcase and starts casting Silent Image from it as the scroll grumbles a silk cacoon appears at AC-18/19 and AD-18/19

    it will be a cocoon until next round. Then quill will cast ghost sound on it and the cocoon wil break apart and reveals a huge celestial butterfly

    the cocoon itself is empty not that it matters with an illusion

    Rayen steps around the door frame and using her new ability, places her fingers along the wall and starts climbing up to the ceiling. Then using all fours, she climbs across the ceiling until she is hovering over Axara and Savin.

    "Lady Axara, our wizard suggests that you take care and heal thyself," Maesyn whispers.

    Without any better ideas, Maesyn casts a spell, and his form begins to shift. The handsome half-Elf's silver hair disappears, as do his ears, and his back shifts to a hunched form. His hands grow longer and his nails into claws. A tail grows out of his backside, and his mouth and nose merge into a snout.

    What Quill then sees, should he look, is a very well-dressed, silvery-skinned lizardfolk, carrying a backpack, rapier, crossbow, and Elven harp.

    Savin throws another javelin at the shadar-kai he previously hit and his throw is so powerful, the javelin impales the enemy against the wall. The tendrils have no effect on the warrior accuracy.

    Quill uses his magic to make a gaint cocoon appears in the room. The cocoon starts pulsating.

    Maesyn transforms himself into a silver lizardfolk and load his crossbow.

    Axara jumps as she sees the big cocoon unsure who summoned it. It block her escape to the right of the room away from the enemy. She moves outside the room against her wish as she knows she must heal herself first. She gets the wand and heals some of the wounds.

    Axara yells “There is a huge cocoon in the room now!

    Rayen climb the wall and reaches the ceiling (15 feet height) standing above where Axara stood previously.

    Ryxikor enters the room before releasing his arrow. The shot is true and pierces the shadar-kai head through the eye, sending it back to the plane of shadow. The elf sharp eyes has problem overcommit the tendrils concealment effect.

    The shadar-kais unleash their arrows but none of the deadly missiles hit their target. SK3 moves to give Kessara an open line on Rayen and Savin. The undead half dragon opens her mouth and a breath of acid similar to Rayen’s come out aiming for the dragon shaman. Rayen is agile enough to avoid some of the liquid but get still burned. The shadar-kai leader murmurs a few words of magic and tries to hold Rayen under his control but the will of the dragon shaman is too powerful.

    Ryxikor smiles as he disposes of one of the shadar kai. His mind races as he thinks of his options and what he should do next. With so many of the shadar kai in the large room, the elven mercenary understands he must take them out as quickly as possible, while the others battle with the shadar kai spellcaster. Then he notices, Rayen battling with the undead half dragon, Ugh, how I hate dragons he thinks to himself. Before his thoughts even return to his own actions, the veteran elven warrior's body has already moved into action, skirting the wall deeper into the room, using the columns as cover, he moves up to the next one, grabbing another arrow as he does. Ryxikor, focused on stealth, tries to keep hidden from the enemy except for those he is killing, leans out from the column and fires his arrow at the next shadar kai.

    With a few gestures and chants the illusionist enhances the Silent Image of the cocoon with sound. thanks to one of his cantrips ghost sound.

    "Don't you worry pairs this bug is on our side"

    the cocoon breaks and a huge golden butterfly appears as it flies and hovers above the orb scanning the area to see who it should attack.

    "Silks! Muscles! Be ready to be out done by my usual work"

    the gnome watches the room closely to make sure the illusion behaves acordly to the damage it will be affected on it. Or behaves as the spell inflicted upon it.

    Rayen places her face against the ceiling and screams into it as the acid burns at her skin. In all the time she has had her own acid ability, she has yet to burn herself with it. Even Thorekin would watch shaking his head when she was around just to make sure he didn't hit her with any acidic spit. Thankfully, her draconic spell still holds and keeps her hanging on the ceiling. She blinks away the tears of pain and moves close to the right wall in case she needs to get off the ceiling quickly. Then she summons her own breath weapon and aims it at the shadar-kai leader.

    Initiative: Axara, Rayen, Ryxikor, Enemies, [action stopped here] Savin, Quill, Maesyn

    Savin throws another javelin at the next shadar-kai he can see and buries the weapon deep down his side as he once again ignore the concealment provided by the tendrils

    Quill uses his magic to make a giant butterfly appear from the cocoon, complete with wing flap noises.

    Maesyn, in silver lizardfolk form, cast a spell and suddenly fell much more skilled at whatever he tries..

    Axara heals herself again with the wand before reentering the room going near Rayen and Savin, happy to be a target.

    Axara says “Time to sends all the abominations back to where they belong.

    Rayen moves deeper into the great hall, still walking on the ceiling and unleashes her own acidic breath on the shadar-kai leader. He easily avoids half of acid.

    Ryxikor moves deeper into the room using a column to hide from his target and buries an arrow in its heart, killing it instantly.

    The shadar-kais takes a page from Ryxikor book and moves and hide in plain sight, thanks to their hide in plain sight ability, one targeting Rayen and the other Ryxikor. Both hide from their target but only the one aiming at Rayen hit her.

    Kessara moves forward and uses some magic. Rayen and Maesyn both feel a dent in their morale.

    The shadar-kai leader murmurs a few words of magic and unleashes magic missiles toward Rayen burning the dragon shaman.
