    Initiative: Axara, Quill, enemies [action stopped here], Rayen, Ryxikor, Maesyn, Savin

    Rayen fires straight at the shadow mastiff and hits it with her breath weapon for full effect, seriously burning the monster (<50%).

    Ryxikor throws a smoke sticks at the base of the staircase which gets engulfed in smoke.

    Maesyn continues using his beautiful voice, providing courage to his teammates. It is strange to see a silver lizardfolk sing so well.

    Savin swings his spiked chain back and forth and he would have hit the shadow mastiff if it was not for his shadow hiding ability.

    Axara swings her mace at her enemy but she keeps looking like someone who picked up a mace for the first time.

    Quill uses his wand of magic missiles, hitting the shadow mastiff threatening Savin (<20%).

    The last shadar-kai takes a step back, drops his bow and swings the spiked chain at at Axara. He hits the bumbling cleric.

    2 shadowslain poison dusk lizard folks emerge from the smoky staircase and fire arrow at Axara but fail to pierce her armor.

    Ryxikor curses under his breath when he sees the shadowslain poison dusk lizard folk emerge from the staircase, then gives Maesyn a sideways glance, before retrieving another arrow, as he moves into the room, and aiming it at one of the newly arrived enemy and firing.

    Rayen sees the perfectly aligned shadowslain and unleashes again her acidic breath weapon for full effect but both undead avoid half of the damages.

    Ryxikor moves deeper into the room and unleashes an arrow which burries itself deep into the shadowslain.

    Maesyn moves where the rubbles are and tries to skewer the shadow mastiff. However, he cannot focus do to the shadow blend and fails to connect.

    Savin rises from his prone position and the shadow mastiff takes advantage of it and hit him hard and trips him again. The warrior falls back on all fours and gets himself up, this time without suffering an attack of opportunity.

    Axara decides to try to send the undead to the rest they desire. She raises her holy symbol and points it toward the two shadowslains. “Mystra, please let me channel your divine powers to send these undead monstrosities servants of Shar back to the hell they deserve to be!.

    The goddess listens and a bright light starts shining from Axara’s holy symbol and engulfs the two undead. They start to burn and turn into ashes.

    Quill unleashes his powers again and energy darts hit the shadow mastiff, bringing him to the brink. The shadow creature looks very hurt.

    The shadar-kai swings again the spiked chain at at Axara but fails to connect.

    The shadow mastiff bites Savin and damages even more the warrior. It tries to trip the warrior but fails.

    Glad to see the unexpected enemy diminish, Ryx turns his attention to the lone shadar kai archer. The elven rogue grabs another arrow as he moves a little closer, and fires once he clears the staircase, before Axara can engage him.

    Savin, his footing now secure, growls at the dog as he spins his chain in a double figure eight, with one arcing high and down followed by the other arcing low and up, as he attacks the massive dog and spins to keep the momentum of his chain going.

    Rayen moves next to Axara and fires her acid weapon. She hits the shadar-kai but the creature from the shadow place avoids half of the acid.

    Ryxikor moves deeper into the room and unleashes an arrow at the shadar-kai but he misses his tartget.

    Maesyn pulls a healing wand from his backpack and slightly heals some of the damages done by the mastiff.

    Savin swings his psiked chain and attack the shadow mastiff twice. The first he would have it but the darn shadow blend confused him. The second time he totally misses.

    Axara moves forwards and hits the shadar-kai (<50%)

    Quill uses his magic missile wand at the shadow mastiff and in a final howl, the beast returns to the plane of shadows.

    The shadar-kai sees the shadow mastiff disappear so he tries to make a run for the stairs. As he walks by Rayen, the dragon shaman swings her mace and hit him real hard in the head and kill him.

    "Odd" the gnome mumbles as he looks to the rumble of the right then to the door to the left. "Silks, can you be a friend and look for a secret passage where our wizardly friend have gone out?"

    Looking at the transmutated bard and Axara "Scales-- Pairs tend to the wounded. And use the wands this time, please" With that he opens his belt and puts the blue wand where it belongs.

    "I will wait here in case the Shadar-kai wizard attempts to flee from the way it came."

    As soon as the room goes quiet except for the labored breathing of the heroes, and they realize no harm is about them, Ryx quickly unbuckles his cloak, then his weapons belt, backpack, and boots, before he starts taking off his armor to replace it with the magical studded leather armor they just found. "Surely you wouldn't want me to be injured, would you little one?." Ryx asks as he c*cks his head with a quizzical look across his angular elven features. Once he is dressed and ready to press forward, Ryx looks around for any sign of a secret door or passage the shadar kai could have used. "Maybe we need to go back to where the secret door was, he may not have come this way." he says looking to the others.

    "I'm sure he didn't," replies Maesyn with some disappointment as he casts another healing spell from the wand. "I hadn't expected such resistance back here in this room; I just wanted to check it before we chased after him. Now, though, he's had enough time to get just about anywhere. I apologize for my error."

    He looks around. "As long as we're here, we should find out what it was they were guarding with such dedication that they did not even come out to help Ketsarra Shadowscale when we had her cornered. In particular -- what's up these stairs?"

    Only if it's a 5th-level wand. By default wands are created at the lowest possible level, which in this case is 1st, and a 1st-level CLW spell is 1d8+1.

    Axara looks at Quill with a surprised look Hey Quillmeister! Who died and made you leader? This is not a classroom full of books and inks and quills. Don’t order us around! Dhe shakes her head, looking amused.

    While ignoring the priestess comments, Quill go over the rubbles but find nothing. He looks at the walls looking for oddities but does not see it. He is about to move on when he stops and realized that the wall on P19 a very hard to see line as if the wall was cut. He looks for something to open that space but does not see it.

    Ryxikor starts taking off his armor. Axara gives him a hand and helps him put the new one in. As he is done, the dancing light and the bless spell expire. Who turned off the lights?!.

    Ryxikor goes to the secret door that Quill found and confirm it is a real secret door. He spends a lot of time searching about and he is 100% sure that the door can only be activated from the other side.

    Maesyn heals Savin partially and explains to Quill that the shadar-kai leader either went up the stairs. The mastiff and its accomplices were guarding something. Axara chips in Well, he could have escaped through the hole in the wall. Or he could still be in the secret room.

    Rayen goes around and finds the following equipment: 2 spiked chains, 4 shortbows, 2 MW studded leather armor, 36 arrows, 34 arrows with the tip covered with a green substance (Poison Fortitude DC 13 Paralysis for 2d6 minutes) and 88 gold pieces.

    Savin tries to look up the stairs the stairs but he does not spot anything. Although the smoke is nearly all gone, the smell isn’t. He listens carefully and hears some sounds which reminds him of faint moans.

    Axara heals herself twice using the wand and returns to full health. She looks at the group. So, do we go upstairs? Do we go outside? Do we try to go inside the secret room? Do we open the door on the left?

    As he casts an other Dancing lights the gnome walks to the gate room standing in front the statue. "I will go if no one else wants."

    It's not everyday that one gets through a hidden passage. The Illusionist trembles in exsitment to see the insides.

    With magical armor on, Ryx feels a little safer, with organripper in hand also. Once a decision is made, which he seconds the fact they should make sure nobody or nothing is hidden in the secret passage. As the others move into the main room, to go through the secret door, Ryx stays behind until the end to keep an eye on the second secret door, to make sure the shadar kai doesn't come out.

    "I don't like it either, but I'm essentially out of spells," Maesyn points out. "Still, I do still have my rapier, and my tough Lizardfolk hide."

    He hands a potion to Savin -- one of his potions of cure moderate wounds. "You might need this." He then goes to pick up his crossbow and stow it.

    Quill casts another dancing lights and decides to go to the other room and offers to try the hidden passage.

    Ryxikor stays in the stairs room, ready to intercept anything that could come out.

    Savin tells the group he heard moaning that and decided to guard the stairs, just in case.

    Maesyn tells everyone his spells status and gives Savin a potion. Axara looks at the silver lizardfolk. “Can you read healing scrolls? I have a couple you could use if needed. And I can let you the wand if needed.

    Rayen follows Quill in the other room.

    Axara opens the door on the left and finds a storage room. She looks quickly but finds foodstuffs, normal clocks and boots and other mundane miscellaneous supplies.

    Quill steps on the platform and activates it as he asks the dancing light to follow him. The platform rotates and Quill disappears. It pauses for one round and rotates again. The statue reappears but there is no Quill.

    As the platform rotates into a room, the illusionist gets of the platform and let the statue rotates back. He is inside a small room with a small altar to Shar. A black wooden disc about 3 feet in diameter, surrounded by a ring of purple, hangs on the wall above it. A small ceramic lamp on the altar burns shadowlight oil, fillin g the small room with shadowy illumination. This altar is the only definite indication in the Lost Refuge of whose clergy is behind the activities in Wheloon and here. Also, on top of the altar is a letter.”

    Ryxikor, keeping a sharp eye on the second secret door and on Savin as he watches the stairs, turns to Axara and Maesyn, "They went back to the last room, to check out the secret door, to make sure the spellcaster is no longer around. I actually thought you two were going with them." he says as he shrugs, hoping the other two are okay.

    Quill instructs the dancing lights to spread out in the room to better light it.

    As inspects the room he watches out for any ambushes although it looks like the shadar-kai has flown the coup. spot (1d20+1)[17] listen (1d20+3)[8]

    If nothing is there he inspects the rest of the room (the symbol and altar)

    If everything is save (or thinks it is) he grabs the letter from the altar.

    Maesyn wonders where Quill and Rayen went but Ryxikor answers the question. Axara goes into the room and asks Rayen "You let the weak accountant go in there all by himself? Why? The shadar-kai could still be in there."

    She jumps on the platform with the statue and activates it to go into the secret room.

    The accountant realizes that may be that was not the smartest idea to go in this room by himself. He braces himself for an attack by the invisible enemy but nothing happens.

    He definitively recognizes the symbol as being the one of Shar. He grabs the letter and jumps as the platform moves. He is relieved to see it is Axara coming through.

    The priestess asks him if everything is OK and then process to break the symbol of Shar and the altar. She nods at the accountant and jumps again on the platform and activate it.


    Axara reappears on the other side. He is OK. He is doing what he likes best, reading.

    As things seem to quiet down, the group seems a bit relaxed, Ryx shrugs and moves near to Savin. Holding organripper in his left hand, the elf peers up the staircase and listens carefully to see what he can discern.
