Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
Thank you, Bioware. It's about time you just gave in and made shields functional against everything.
Also, completing certain legacy achievements apparently rewards you with cartel coins. Nice to know.Last edited by Squark; 2013-02-20 at 09:00 PM.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
Looks like they're getting rid of all the "Target must be incapacitated and Strong or weaker" attacks from all classes, too. Can't say I'll miss those too much - it always seemed like a weirdly and excessively limited mechanic.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
Occasionally, if I was fighting more than one Strong mob at a time, I'd use a short Stun to set it up. For the most part, though, the mobs it might have been useful against were immune to it, and the mobs that weren't immune to it died fast enough that it wasn't worth bothering with.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
I'm curious as to who are some your favorite companion characters. For me, it has to be Akaavi Spar. I love strong, fierce warrior women, plus she works well with my healer/smuggler when soloing. There were times where I wanted to play other classes to get another style of play, but their companion characters kinda' sucked (that Rattaki merc that the Imperial Agent gets just rubs me the wrong way).

I like Vette. And Elara, at least so far (midway through Chapter Two on my Trooper).
Mako shrunk on me.Orth Plays: Currently Baldur's Gate II

Kaliyo is one of my favorites. Blizz and Ashara comes in 2nd and 3rd though. Mako and Vette are good in the beginning but start getting on my nerves after a while. The healing companion you get as the consular on nar shadaa gets an honorable mention just because of his hologram.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
I've still only played an Inquisitor (and don't have HK-51), so I don't have the biggest reference pool. Anyways, my favorite is probably Talos. He has more personality than the other four put together, and during a few of his conversations you have the option to basically geek out with him over the Inquisitor story's Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider overtones.
Khem Val is a close second. He's a pretty simple character overall, but sometimes you just want someone who makes people think "Holy s***, this guys must be tough if he has THAT thing following him around." Also, now that I think about, he has a sort of fleeting resonance in my mind with Jeremiah Gottwald, on account of the whole "LOYALTY!" thing and general badassery.
Ashara is annoying at first but grows on you over time, especially if you pay close attention to the affection gains during her conversations and quickly realize that she's much more like a Sith than she'd ever admit. Andronikos comes across as rather dull overall, and Xalek is just kind of there.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
Khem Val is great. He's badass and scary, and his dialogue is entertaining - he insists he hates you and wants to kill you, but gets incredibly upset whenever he thinks you're replacing him. Also, his personal loyalty story arc is hilariously ironic.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
I always liked Aric Jorgan myself. He's not the most friendly, but he keeps his eye on the mission, which is very important in his line of work.
Also Fourex, because of his UBERPATRIOTISM! He's just hilarious to me >_> Really I like all the Trooper companions though. I felt like they were all interesting, and even though I hated Vic, it was in that "I love to hate you" sort of way, rather than that "Why do you exist!?" sort of way.Computer is back! Yay!
Feel free to check out my Deviantart page - it's not great, but I'm trying to change that.

My favourite companion is HK-51, followed by Khem Val, and then Kira.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
I do like BeerBot but i have issue with his tanking capabilities so he spends most of his time crafting.
I cracked and resubscribed. I have been wanting to play again and its just so damm restricted on preferred status when you are used to what full access allows.
I have had to go back to Nar Shadaa on my Trooper and do the normal quests as i have reached the stage where i have trouble with the current class quests as they are much higher level than meLast edited by Leon; 2013-02-24 at 01:09 AM.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
So we're getting double-XP weekends for the next month in the "March to Makeb", so it's currently speculated that we're getting RotHC in mid April.
Also the Gree event is back, including a speeder for when you get to Legendary standing.Man this thing was full of outdated stuff.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
Rise of the Hutt Cartel is releasing April 14, with early access starting on the 9th.
They also dropped the closed beta NDA a few days ago, so there's loads of information coming out.
Oh, and there's a bit of a stink because it turns out the writers managed to accidentally put female SGRs on the Republic side only and male SGRs on the Empire side only. On an unrelated note, it turns out there's some fairly nice Star Wars facepalm pictures out there:

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
*does some digging* It appears that it's more a matter of, "You can flirt with non-joinable same-sex NPCs on Makeb, instead of just non-joinable opposite-sex ones." No full romances. All the joinables are still effectively heterosexual, including the one who is overtly bisexual, just not toward you.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
So. 2.0 has launched, and those who preordered before the cutoff date (Jan 17 IIRC) have their early access to RotHC.
In a totally unsurprising move, people gamed the system to already hit level 55 by way of stockpiling quest reward popups (I've heard numbers like 150 of them) for when the level cap went up. Log in, accept quest rewards, ding, 55.Man this thing was full of outdated stuff.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
Huh. I'd have assumed that the Quest Log limit would prevent that - I guess "Completed" quests must be removed from the Log before you accept the rewards, contrary to what I'd have expected.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
Finished Makeb this morning. Was some of the best storytelling I've seen in this game, and considering the rest of the game (well, at least the Inquisitor story + all of the non-class-specific stuff) that's really saying something.
On a related note, it was also by far the highest density of meaningful LS/DS choices I have yet to see.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic II: Hutts don't have feet!
SpoilerWell the Archon fight did take me four tries, but I'm pretty we were never friends.
SpoilerI mean that Makeb's extant population and future habitability both took a sharp nosedive because of me.
By the way, if any of you end up having trouble with the Empire-side final boss, completing the "Fuel for the Fire" bonus mission (which you'll get as soon as the fight starts) makes things way easier.
