Well, they are roommates. Sophie brings in half the rent.

"The... uh... Apocakitty?"

The list of famous people that these two know is rather limited... but they've both heard of Reinholdt.

Specifically, not the Reinholdt that MechRein was based off of. This is going to be awkward.

Well that name is fairly close to the top of the list of famous names.

"Oh. Uh... no. I just happen to share a name with him..." And happen to be the same species and breed?

"It's complicated."

Defelent's House

That startles Tracy- she's used to being treated as a cross between furniture, pet, and lover, whose opinions aren't needed or respected. She nearly, but fortunately doesn't, drop the plate she was placing onto the draining board. "Oh, really? Um, that would be... Nice. Yes. I'd like that." Tracy genuinely doesn't know what to say.

Naethalee can't help but smile at Tracy's flusterdness, as she goes to stand. "And he'll have to learn, eventually at least, that if I'm going to stick around he's going to have to respect everyone who lives under this roof," she says quietly, but with a firm determination in her voice.


[Beach]

Dorota holds Crissy close, stroking her hair. I used not to believe in true love... I've never been so glad to be proven wrong, she says eventually.

The stroking soon has the half-elf nearly purring happily.
"Me either...I always thought of love as something I had even though it was confusing...then, well, all this happened...and I totally have no doubt."

"Defelent... Isn't too big on respecting others. He respects Terrowin, for sure, and he likes you a lot, but I'm not sure if he respects you. At least, if he respects you in a way that gives you any form of leverage over him. I know that he'd probably respect you more, but trust you less, if you joined the Cult of Dalachrech- that you've been chosen by his god and are resisting the call is something he admires, but doesn't respect." Tracy doesn't sound very confident about what she says, and flushes slightly as she realises she shouldn't know that, and more importantly shouldn't share it.

Ariel sighed.
"First they make us get married and next they decide to meddle..."
She slides out of bed.

She laughed.
"Yeah I guess, we could both be straight after all."
She goes into the bathroom to change and then returns wearing her regular leather armor.

"We're both intelligent people that deal with complex things. You could throw alternate universes, astrophysics, and parables at the same time and at most we would ask for a few definitions and clarifications."

"Math, computers, and science are also eligible objects for mixing and discussing."

Trapped in an apartment with two intelligent women! What do you do?

"Well... I'm pretty sure I don't know anything about most of those." Reinholdt might not be their best conversationalist.

Squish! Whoops! Clarissa must've forgotten that the reanimated, barely sapient rat was perched upon her hand!

Ew! Yuck! Gross! Augh! That rat, withered as it is and prepped for the grave, is getting all of its germs all over Clarissa's pretty little hand!

And the strange thing is, she can't help but pity the (relatively) defenseless wee-little undead creature. Sure it is a horrendous abomination but... How can she let it exist like this? Yeah, Clarissa prefers torturing her enemies before exterminating them, but making a sapient critter suffer unprovoked... No. She can't do it unless it is on behalf of her darling husband. In fact, she already cares about the small, broken mammal enough to attempt to stitch its wounds back together with a sneaky army of needle-like tendrils extending out of the tips of her fingers positioned behind the pint-sized monster and by expending a considerable amount of her remaining magical energy reserve!

She's already accomplished quite a few magic-depleting tasks today!

"He's right, you know. If you want to verify that your master truly is dead, we can take you to wherever you normally contact him, if you wish."

Oooo! Clarissa is definitely trying to manipulate that rodent!

"What we're saying is, go ahead and tell us, complexity won't confuse us."

Sophie kind of sits there. She knows that if this is the Apocakitty, she won't be of much good. Robots are immune to spider poison. She also knows that Kate could probably kill it with a bit of pixie dust... she's heard Kate rant about how a program won't work if you mess with the code even a little.

Possibly. But one doesn't become legend by being stopped by a little pixie dust.

"Basically, I'm Reinholdt from an entirely different timeline and Nexus. I was brought here by a Thanksmas wish who wanted a happy Rein. So I was yanked from there and put here. And then once I started settling down here, I was yanked from that and put in a mechanical body. And the Rein from here a self-centered moron."

The Cornucopia

Unlike Alice, Sticks is quite good at reading people. The tall man stands quietly and attempts to intercept Alice before she leaves. She might feel a hand on her shoulder, and should Miss Q feel inclined to turn around, she'll find Sticks offering her a pouch of coins.

"Just... think of it as advance pay." He doubts she'll be able to find more somewhere else without asking for help, so why not just simplify things.

Alice seems very startled by this, looking up at Sticks to see if he means it. After a moment's thought, she accepts the pouch. "Thank you," she says, smiling. Alice has never met anyone as generous as Sticks before, and she's not quite sure what to say. So she'll just leave, if he permits her to do so. There's a lot for her to think about.
"Contact me as soon as you get the chance!" she calls over her shoulder.

[Murkus]

The Cornucopia

"I'll be by Trogs tomorrow!" Sticks calls to her as she departs. The tall man waves happily, content with his decision to loan Alice some money. Though he hasn't said it's a loan, the money will most certainly come back to him one way or another.

With that said, he shuts the door and locks his store for the night, descending down a second set of stairs into the cellar. Down into his true workshop.

An unearthly moaning drifts from the shop's windows well into the small hours, chilling the hearts of late night passerby. Grinding gears and gnashing metal screech from the depths beneath the thin man's store. No one knows what that crazed fellow Sticks does in there, but none of them like it.

Kate's apartment

"Oh, that must stink."

"'Self-centered moron'... not the way that most people put it, but probably not inaccurate."

"Well, I can't see any reason why you can't stay here. The landlord shouldn't mind..."

"He also doesn't pay a lot of attention..."

"What do you say, Sophie?"

"As long as he doesn't cause trouble or mess with my cupboard, he can stay. It's the one on the left end there."

The spider is in charge here! Rein knew it!

"I don't see any reason to mess with cupboards, no." Or much anything else. Except that furniture over there. It needs more scratching.

"I won't be any trouble."

She laughed.
"Yeah I guess, we could both be straight after all."
She goes into the bathroom to change and then returns wearing her regular leather armor.

"So, um, what do we do today?"

And they go on about their day.

And now here we are, so much in love with each other... and barely able to keep our hands off each other, she adds with a giggle.

"I dunno...but the droids were working on something today...maybe we should go check?"

It seems the droids have turned it into a beautiful desert oasis.

There's a sparkle in Naethalee's pale eyes as she smiles, and it's clear that her heritage passed down from her mother - a one-time Llothite 'disruptor' turned Priestess of Shar - relishes the thought of this prospect...

...but just as quickly, it's gone, and she leans against the counter once more, tilting her head in thought, then smiling at Tracy, more kindly.
"You know, I should probably let you in on a secret he doesn't know about me..."

Crissy giggles as well, turning her head to kiss Dorotha's cheek, as her smile grows. "Well, like, totally...and I don't see any reason not to. I mean, when we're somewhere private, at least," she adds with a blush.

She doesn't really know herself...it did look rather relaxing though.

Tracy doesn't notice the glimmer with her first statement, and therefore doesn't realise Naethalee would enjoy it. "What's the secret, Nymiiria?" Tracy's ears perk up in curiosity. When she's happier and not so worried, she looks more confident and, though she's unaware of it, that adds to her prettiness.

Crissy giggles as well, turning her head to kiss Dorotha's cheek, as her smile grows. "Well, like, totally...and I don't see any reason not to. I mean, when we're somewhere private, at least," she adds with a blush.

Mhmm.... well, let's try to restrain ourselves when in the open, though, Dorota says with a playful smile. Besides, I think the food's getting cold...

"Well, you actually just mentioned it. It's my actual name." 'Nymiiria' giggles quietly, dropping her voice conspiritorially. "Nymiiria is an...affectation, an alias I adopted for the masquerade ball, and I've never bothred to tell him otherwise. My actual name is Naethalee - Naethalee Halcyon," the swashbuckler says with a smile.

"Oh." That surprised Tracy- she's unfamiliar with people besides spies using fake names. And if Defelent thought that Naethalee was a spy, her life is likely forfeit, since Dalachrech is rather paranoid about spies.
