How well did you know that woman? Tobias sits on the altar next to Carrie. Obviously not well enough, if you were surprised by this. People do things for reasons. Usually irrational and stupid reasons, yes, but reasons that make sense to them. This should not have been a surprise to anyone who knew her very well.

But I'm just saying that there should have been signs... and yeah, I think people get married too quickly in the Nexus. How long were they all together before arranging this wedding? He tries to put a comforting arm around her shoulders.

She winces, remembering the way her relationship with Gen pretty much averaged out to a self-harming trainwreck.
But... it doesn't always go badly when people know each other for that long... She thinks of Chris, though she notes that she basically blundered into a giant vat of rainbow lasers and pure fermented Dumb Luck in that case.
