Glamdring shudders as the attack is used! It's really weird and kind of gross but not the most effective thing in the world. At least it isn't blunted by his rocky hide, right?

Glamdring grits his teeth, on his last leg here... But he's not about to give up! His pride and his very life is on the line! Unless this human doesn't want his slaves to battle to the death either. Weird silly humans.

"Oh." Well, that's certainly surprising. At least they don't sound too dangerous, but stealing things is definitely bad. "What's a pact bound?" She asks.

Oh no, Glamding is on his last legs! Becca holds out his pokeball. "Return, Glamdring." And he should get beamed into the ball just before he's able to attack... Except he's not! "Wha- Oh crap!" Dangit, Firespin and stuff is stopping her. "Hang in there!" She calls, sounding a bit worried.

"Hah! Fire Spin and Bind keep you from recalling your Pokémon!"

Winston laughs as Becca tries to withdraw Glamdring. He knew Bind and Fire Spin were good moves! Heatmor gets hit by the next round of Rock Throw! The fiery anteater almost collapses, grunting in pain. If this were a video game, the Annoying Beeping would start about now. Luckily, there's no such thing here, so the Pokémon just looks to be exhausted and weak.

"One last Fire Spin Heatmor! Take out that unnatural Pokémon!"

Heatmor takes another deep breath through its tail before spitting another vortex of fire out at Glamdring.

Sadly the vortex of doom isn't perfectly accurate. Highly accurate?

The ant-eater must have been a little woozy from the rock clobbering because Glamdring just weaved under that blast of flame and allowed it to go sailing off into a potted plant.

He's just as bad off as the anteater. Though he has something on his side that the anteater doesn't!

"eeeeeeeeee..." water begins to flow up the Pokemon's legs, bursting into steam at the heat of the flames! "EON!"

Pluteon evolved into Vaporeon!

"Zzzzzz..."

And then collapses onto the Heatmor and begins drooling on the thing.

Vaporeon used Rest!

"... Right. Yeah. K." Mecha-Rein says backing up several paces, probably all the way into the next room.

Winston shouts in frustration, throwing his hands in the air.

"Fury Swipes the thing!"

Equally furious, Heatmor blows a plume of smoke out of its tail and tries to shove Glamdring off of it before slicing away at him multiple times with its claws in a Fury Swipes attack. At this point, both Pokémon and trainer know they've lost, but try anyway out of anger and spite. No, not the move.

Glamdring is shoved to the floor and savaged with repeated attacks!

Though given how durable the now fully recovered Vaporeon is that simply isn't going to be enough to take him down...

The rain washes away Glamdring's drowsiness and the Pokemon rises to his feet, leering a rather mean looking leer!

He then sits down and begins licking one of his front paws.

Is...

I don't think he's going to attack?

He's just mocking Winston now. How mean.

Heatmor growls again and tries to Lick Glamdring with its long anteater tongue again! Winston's only chance is an extreme case of parahax. Great.

Glamdring shudders from the assault, but doesn't appear to be paralyzed by it. At this point it would seem he's grown tierd of this contest and decides to end it!

How you ask?

By spraying a powerful stream of water out of his mouth at the flamin' anteater, that's how!

Probably a Water Gun attack!

Not quite ready for the likes of Hydro Pump just yet.

Kate (not Mega Kate! I don't even know where that came from.) Just leaves. Sheesh... No use whatsoever.

A cell phone call later, and the FD is on the way to make sure the building is safe!

Okay, with that done, everyone safe, and the arsonist apparently dead (yipes) there isn't much more to do.

Kate looks at Mecha-Cat, whose name she does not know.

"Hey, will you be alright?"

Heatmor takes a water gun to the snout! This, of course, knocks out the Pokémon. Winston curses angrily and returns the fainted fire type to its Great Ball.

"Bah. You win. That unnatural thing is too strong, with all of its evolutions."

He sounds disgusted!

"Yeah. I, umm, guess it wasn't as bad here as I thought. Sorry." Mecha-Rein says, at a total loss at what to do.

She figures that suddenly being someone else would be annoying and hard to deal with.

"Pfft, you're just a sore loser." Becca moves over to Glamdring and looks at him with some concern. "You okay, Glamdring?" The was a tough battle. She probably should have switched him out for at least part of it. =x

He was just born a few minutes ago! He really has no idea if he'll be ok or not.
"Least I don't have to eat right?" Mecha says in a rather nervous tone, looking at and flexing his mechanical claws.

Ever wondered why only the protagonist faints if all his or her Pokemon get beaten into submission?

The Vaporeon just sits there, enjoying the last few moments of the rain-storm as it trickles away. One would think the water would ruin all the equipment in here, but for whatever weird reason the effect was limited to the Pokemon fight alone.

Silly physics-defying Pokemon battles!

"wIj ghor 'oH ghobe' HeghmoH pIn, Becca," Glamdring replies stoically. He's injured, sure. But not badly. He then looks up at Becca, a rather malicious gleam in his eyes. "DIchDaq jIH HoH het K'tak vaD quvHa' SoH?"

Winston simply mutters a rude comment, then goes to push past Becca and leave the lab. Of course, he tries to shove 1860 into her hands as he does so. It's the prize money! For winning the Pokémon battle.

Kate shrugs.

"Well, if there's nothing you can think of, I'll be on my way. Best of luck!"

Burning Tenement - Mobile Hospital

Several of the medical personnel turn pale when the scream happens, and a couple of them even drop their medical instruments to flee, horrified at the brutal reality of what was happening and needing to lose their lunch. Bugs, wearing Mercy, simply scowls and continues to operate on his patients as they're brought out to him. "You two, head home. You're useless here. Come to my office tomorrow." He tells the pair that ran off to puke. "All of you that are new at this, listen. I'm only going to say this once. What we're doing right now is nothing compared to what we see when something big happens. These are "only" gunshot wounds and burns and the like. If you don't have the stomach or resolve to save lives, quit now and stop wasting my damn time. We have lives to save so get your frakking asses moving NOW!!!" He commands them all through the Hospital-Reserved Comm Channel.

When Jyarl begins to read the Last Rites, he commands his suit to only play that channel, feeling the words move through him. Inside, his heart aches as another one of his precious sons and daughters suffers, and a little part of him dies with Captain Jefferies, a woman he knew as nothing more than just a name, but he had cared for just like everyone else.

Burning Tenement - Entrance

Javert goes next to Missy and tries to set a hand on her shoulder. "You should get yourself looked at. You've been burned and your heart is probably fixing to explode." He tells her right before a black and red figure steps out of the flames of the tenement with a small bundle wrapped in a blanket in his arms.

Jyarl strides right for the pair, and after shifting the child to just one arm, attempts to slug Missy right in the jaw. It's a half-hearted punch, especially since he turned off the strength enhancements so he didn't deal any permanent damage or at least break her jaw. Javert gives Jyarl a look of shock right before the latter spins to kick the assassin directly in the ribs. Taken off guard, Javert is kicked off his feet and onto the ground.

The Major gives the pair a disgusted growl before spitting at the assassin and trying to make his way to the Mobile Hospital.

Burning Tenement - Mobile Hospital

Charity is shaken by the scream, but she continues her work. She hasn't specifically seen burn injuries this severe before, outside of her textbooks, but she lived through the Felinan War.

She recites her training to herself: ABC, Airway, Breathing, Circulation first. Then make sure the patient is no longer smouldering. Then treat traumatic injuries. Burn treatment is a specialist service, not for the field. She's still not advanced enough in her studies to do more than the basics. She has just started to learn intubation, but it's too dangerous in the hands of a novice for her to risk it unless there is no one else available. She desperately wishes she were more experienced since nearly everyone they treat will need it.

As she reaches Noah, the half-elf gang leader, he suddenly points at another patient - a human dressed all in black, with a bullet wound to the gut. "That's one of them! That's one of the **** who shot Veronica and started the fire! Why are you treating him?"

"So he can live and stand trial," Charity answers. "Lay still and put your oxygen mask back on." There's enough authority in her tone that he obeys.

She continues to treat patients during the last rites, which only the Remnant personnel can hear. The words mean nothing to her, but since she knows they give comfort to others, she speaks as little as possible, and when she does, her voice is low. Besides, the cries of the patients prevent any true moment of silence from being observed.

Burning Tenement - Entrance

Missy looks at Javert in confusion. The mental effects of oxygen deprivation are similar to intoxication. "My heart? It's broken. Bugs wants -" She doesn't see the punch coming, and goes down, with a soft cry of pain. And then Javert lands on the ground next to her. She tries to get up, fails, and just looks at him. "Why did he do that?"

Jyarl may hear a hoarse giggle coming from the bundle in his arms.

Javert scowls and gets up before helping Missy back to her feet. "You can ask him." He says, spitting out the words. If she keeps a hold of his hand, he'll try guiding her to the Mobile Hospital. "We need to get you checked out. You aren't right."

Jyarl ignores the two as he gets to the Mobile Hospital before them. Curious about the giggle, he uncovers the child's face so he can look down at it.

Jyarl sees a little orc girl of about ten looking up at him. When she notices him looking back, she grins, showing off her little tusks. She mimics a punch, and then a kick, and giggles again.

Missy gets to her feet with Javert's help, and notices that her feet hurt. A lot. Once inside, the nearest medic gets her to a bed and uses an electronic scanner that communicates with her biomonitor. It allows much faster diagnosis than repeating all of the same tests. The result of the scan, is that she's immediately intubated and given a fluid IV, as well as more heart medication.

Most people can't talk when intubated, but Missy can still send electronic messages. Javert will get a text message on his phone. "Thank you for stopping and helping." If he hadn't been so quick to arrive at the scene of the gunshots, perhaps no one could have been saved. And then, because this is the equivalent of drunk dialling, she goes on, "I shouldn't have screwed up our date, cause you're a nice guy and really hot, especially when you're dancing."

After sending that text, Missy thinks it'd be a grand idea to send a text to Magtok. "It's fine if you're already over me because I know you're out of my league and I'm too messed up to be worth the trouble. I think you should find someone really nice at the party and be happy and you'll always be in my ♥ HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"

A few other deranged messages go out to npc guys she's dated once or twice as well, including one to an old number she hasn't dialled in years. But that one is out of service.

"It's a..." ****, how was she going to explain this? "It's a symbol of a promise which have been made and can be used to invoke one specific effect." She takes up the charm of hearts. "This one for example enthralls everyone who happens to see the user, making them believe they are madly in love with them. It's an aesthetical type of love too, so it doesn't matter what kind of orientation they are. I used them on them last time though so it will take some time before it can be used again." The tiefling puts it back in the bag and then fishes out a armband which looks very much like a chain made of a black metal.

She actually looks a bit amused as she see it dangles from her tail. "These are the chains of the Onyx Queen. It can be used any number of times but requires a specific... look if you know what I mean? You need to look into the subjects eyes without looking away or blinking and they will be completely enthralled by you." Astrana explains. "It's the only pact I can really think of for this situation."

Becca just takes the money and stick her tongue out at his as he departs. "You did great." She says to Glamdring after it's apparent that he's not hurt too badly. "We gotta go back to the pokemon center to get you fixed up though."

[Outside Bast's Animal Shelter]

"Oh..." Well, despite limited experience, she catches on to what Astrana means. She'd probably be better off just asking nicely, but if that doesn't work... "That would help a lot." She says awkwardly.

"I can wait for you outside the park as support, if you get in trouble just scream my name and I'll help you alright?" There might be profit in this somehow. "I try to stay close, just be careful. These fey can be very dangerous in their own way."

Bugs takes a moment to look over Missy and gives a curse. "Samuel to HQ. Requesting emergency teleport override with Sgt. Halifax and others who have been Tagged to Surgery Bay 3."

"Request granted." The voice on the other side answers before Bugs, Missy, and the worst of the wounded vanish in a flash of light, to Remnant HQ.

Javert looks at the text message and just shakes his head before giving her a quick reply. "Thank you. Just take it easy. We'll see each other again." He doesn't mention that she might be hunting him later, but that didn't matter.

At the other side of the Mobile Hospital, Jyarl takes a heavy seat, a bit dumbfounded. Normally, months ago, he'd have sided with the humans about killing off these monsters. But now, looking at the girl, he just felt tired and relieved that she was okay. At the little punch and kick, he gives a bit of a chuckle before shifting his arms to make the orc more comfortable. "Who are you?"

The Vaporeon gives a loooong sigh.

And evolves back into an eevee.

And then collapses on the ground in a heap.

That many evolutions so fast...

It seems to take quite a bit out of him.

Suffice to say he doesn't respond to Becca.

Reinholdt starts stirring awake, the effects wearing off.
