This is well out of my experience. I doubt that I would be of any help, even if I were to come. I don't want to fight creatures any more than I have to; that is, at all.

And yet, now Howard seems curious. He might be trappable from here...

Ann sounds awfully confident. maybe it'll be enough to get Howard to go?

...it honestly seems like there might be more to this than just bugs.

The guy has a sci-fi ray gun and everything. The sort that just disintegrates things without a trace for no discernible reason. One would think that would be enough to take care of the issue. But apparently not.

Must be some nasty bug lizards.

...or all the people trained for combat are all Expendable Class crew members...

Howard has noticed the odd thing. He doesn't know what it is, but is familiar with simple pistols and as such suspects it to be ranged weapon.

"Can't you use your weapons to simply kill the creatures? Firearms kill most everything."

Yes, a lot of your masters have been amazing fighters. you have told me. I am not a fighter. At all.

"As stated, we lack sufficient manpower to dispatch all the life forms on our own," the Ensign explains. He seems... well... Desperate?

As if this whole situation is life or death.

Though he's doing his best to remain as unemotional as possible.

Since being emotional is illogical.

And stuff.

"Our weapons do seem to have some degree of effect on the creatures. Though it is speculated that directed energy based munitions are having less of an effect than..." he pauses for a moment to come up with the right words. "Less sophisticated devices."

A plot-clone ((gaah! I can't believe I'm falling into the trap of plot-cloning her again! Oh, well, it's totally worth it. )) of Westlanna has just left Erin's Emporium and is walking along the street.

She notices the little crowd gathered around the fellow in the red shirt. Something about his appearance makes a little grin pull at the corners of her mouth. She wanders over to see what the fuss is about, just in time to hear 'Lack sufficient manpower to get rid of the creatures' and mention of 'Less sophisticated weapons.'

"Looking for a gal packing heat to help you with a problem?" she inquires. Her mischievous grin grows, and she pushes her over-sized camouflage jacket aside to reveal her shiny M1911 at her hip. "I just got some new ammunition and I'm eager for a bit of target practice. ...." she pauses a moment, then adds, "Or have I misread this situation?"

"Um... isn't all weaponry based the direct application of energy?" The tech difference here is very odd, and probably messing with this exchange more than a little.

Ann... I'm a student, not a soldier. I'm not a even a genius, or a sportsman. I do not run track nor lift weights. I maintain that we should find a better wielder for you, one that can actually fight.

And then, person. Howard steps back a bit.

If the Ensign were some other species that isn't supposed to be a rip-off of Vulcans he would totally laugh at the fellow's comment. But he isn't, so he just quirks one of his eyebrows in that totally Vulcan sort of fashion. "In a manner of speaking, yes. But the simple kinetic energy of crude weapons is very different from the phased nadeon pulses our weapons employ."

Rebo is almost 100% certain that a 'nadeon' isn't even a thing.

But that's Trekkie technobabble for you.

"No miss, you are quite accurate with your assessment," the Expendable Class crew member replies. "Further aid in clearing our ship of hostile life-forms would be greatly appreciated. Should you so desire you may speak with our captain afterward regarding compensation for your services."

Yay payment!

"Great!" she replies. "I just spent more than I should have at the gun shop. Tell me a little bit about these hostile critters, please." She lets her jacket fall over her weapon once more and settles her weight back into her heels as if she expects this conversation to go on for a few minutes.

"Size, weight, armor, resistance to chemicals, speed, endurance, adaptability, anything at all that you've observed, really. I need to know what I'm up against here."

The women’s words reach his ears before the winged man retreats out of sight behind a rooftop, but his figure is not seen taking off into the night sky, and it is unlikely he would leave Winguardia’s trail.

His face showed no signs that he was listening to them, but Winguardia smiles. “That went well.” She declares. “Thanks.” She nods to the gals with her.

“Now, where to?” she inquires.

"No problem. And I'm happy to head just about anywhere, really. I have yet to settle down," Rhyan says with a chuckle.

Wes just smiles sympathetically at Aeryn.

She tries to think of a happier topic to talk about before she goes, she doesn't want to leave her new friend feeling down. Her aquamarine eyes scan the shop trying to find something brighter to discuss.

Well, given that the shop was recently trashed, there's not much to comment upon aside from the plethora of types of weapons.
Aeryn does smile, though.
"Do you need directions to the temple?"

"Yes, please, I'd like some directions." Wes replies. "It seems this parallel universe is laid out similarly but not identically to the other Town I was in."

"All this has happened before, and all that. From what I've heard there's just enough differences to mess with your mind." Aeryn chuckles. And provides the desired directions.

"Yes, exactly like that." Westlanna replies with a laugh. "Thanks, I should probably head off and find Erin then." She shells out the cash for the ammunition she just bought. "You take care, and let me know if there is any way I can help out around here." she motions to the torn up shop as she steps to take her leave.

I still belive the goblin and the gnome fall into their battle once their players come back. Tovpir isn't really into fighting right now. After all he is smart enougth to avoid getting a bad reputation by maybe fighting important persons.

"Does one of these guys belong to the local authority?"

"Well, last I remember we were considering following Alysha to the Good League of Good and asking someone there about equipment for a skiing adventure. Otherwise we were going to go look into hang-gliding.... either would be fun. I also have one acquaintance in town named Jessica, she might like to be part of this, so I might swing past her place on the way to wherever we go." Winguardia sums up what they were doing before her wing-bearing nemesis started bugging them.

Speaking of him... an odd dark shadow can suddenly be seen flying off over the rooftops and away from the group. Seems Reclaimer just left in a hurry.

Arriving here is Becca, followed by the newly caught Eeveek! As one would expect, Eeveek needs healing. Despite the Eevee's still undoubtedly being in a sour mood, Becca is on top of the world. She caught a rare pokemon!

There is no nurse Joy!

The nurse in this case is some guy named Peace. He seems friendly enough. And he's actually human as opposed to a goblin or something. Close enough, right?

"Wow, these little guys all look like they've been through a lot," the nurse comments as the various critters are heaped onto the odd boxy looking contraption that does such a nice job of healing things!

Doot doot Do do DO!

"Well there you are. Take good care of them!"

And thus Becca's three pokemon are healed! Eeveek is now no longer injured! Though he doesn't appear to be in any better of a mood than he was a few minutes prior. Still looks like someone has stomped all over his hopes and dreams.

With Eeveek visibly moping about the rather rare pokemon manages to get quite a few jealous looks from those nearby! "Oh wow, an eevee!" squeals an irritating sounding child in short shorts. "Where did you get it?"
