As always, we start with grammar and such:


Intelligent Ray - You forgot to capitalize "he" in the second sentence.

And that's all I see for grammar.

• You didn't mention any credits for the image you used or if you have permission by its creator/copyright holder to use it.
• You need to fix the formatting on the prerequisites. The actual things are listed, but not their qualifier text.
• Why doesn't the class have all Knowledges as class skills? Sorcerers only get Knowledge (Arcana), but the Knowledge (Planes) just seems arbitrarily there.
• Why does this class grant Light Armor proficiency but doesn't affect Arcane Spell Failure at all?
• With all the potential metamagic abuse, I wonder if 7/10 casting is a little much. I mean, I know it's evocation magic and all, but it's a question I'm pondering.
• It's more a pet peeve than anything, but spell names are usually italicized.
• I love the concept and feel of this class. It's silly enough to make me smile, but not so silly that someone wouldn't take it seriously in a more dour game. Good job!

I have a fun idea for a prestige class, that I might even make anyway if it's not chosen. My entry would be a 5 level prestige class where the class features are themed after the monomyth

Responses to the list: (thanks for taking a look at it)
1. I pulled the image off of Google search but I'll look up the artist and put in credit.

3. I used a modified version of the Magus skill list as the basis for this class actually.

And according to the 3.5 forums, not having 9th level spells is equivalent to neutering your class so hard you might as well stop playing cuz you're doing it WRONG!! Anyway, I was worried that cutting too much casting progression would make the class unappealing.

I'm glad you like the flavor. I was originally going to cut out some of the sillier stuff but I thought it was too much fun to take out.

Well, it's a little more than just credit. You need their explicit permission now.

I never thought of the Magus when it comes to blasting.

Well, that's one school of thought that folks have concerning the Wizard and the Sorcerer and it's one that always struck me as odd when its held by the same folks who espouse Tier 3 as being where the game should be aimed at or say that DnD/Pathfinder needs to be balanced, etc.

I'm personally of the school of thought, and I know I've mentioned this in this thread before, that if a Prestige Class gives some real good things to the character taking it and is aimed at casters specifically, that they should take a shot to the gut for their spell levels.

I mean, does it honestly seem fair that Wizard 5/PrC 10/Wizard 5 gets 9th level spells and is a Mini-Balor? What did that character lose when taking the levels in their PrC that still made Wizard 20 appear as a viable trade off with pure mechanics?

I do see a few minor things (Under Channeled, you say it like it will be applied to a Ranged Attack, but it doesn't actually ever say "to"...).

So far, looks good! Keep improving... Remember to look for out of combat utility, and if the spell list isn't going to get bigger, the class needs more features.

I already fixed the typo in Channeled. My main questions now:
-Do you think I have enough options so far?
-If I add a few out of combat features, would that potentially be enough?
-Any ideas for out of combat?
-Any ideas for a capstone?
-Do you think it would be better as a dodge bonus instead of a deflection bonus?
