The wreak of bones filling his nostrils, the orc went about with his men clearing the slaughtered from the field. The gnomes would learn their place today he ensured they were all rounded up, but the wise king knew senseless destruction would not serve him today. He took the town square and climbed atop the statue to the Elven God who "protected" this flock, for these gnomes were the very definition of sheep in Karthis eyes. As Karthis looked out, his men laying the dead and dying like sacrifices at the foot of the altar, he met the eye of every gnome in the square.

Heed me now! I am here today, little more than a pillager, but some day, I will return as a defender. the Orc hoped these words wold satisfy the sheep Those who would think to defy me, look around, these hundred brave sols fought.. and died against my men, and not ONE of my men fell, these men will be a sacrifice to The Great Mantis. He who led my people to victory.. while your.. nnnGodnn stood by and watched your defense crumble at my hand. chuckling Krthis adds as an aside, Fear not small things, for I will happily send your mewling corpse to which ever God you prefer, should you stand against me or mine. Sweeping his flaming sword out over the crowd Karthis then brings it down and severs the head of the Elven GodPick your sides carefully.

Content with what he imagines is an inspiring speech Karthis leads his captains to a Large house and lays out the weeks to come.

Jinx watches the savage Warlord with a mix of boredom and disdain; sure fear of savagery worked... initially but unless they were here 24/7 they wouldn't be overly successful in keeping the gnomes in check. Not to mention the ever increasing the chance of rebellion with the younger generations. No what this person needed was finesse if they wanted to strike fear into the hearts of people. Being constantly bombarded with brutality only led to anger no a more effective tool was randomly striking out from the shadows. Playing on the fear of the people to catch them unaware to slowly crumble down any hope because they are constantly watching their back. Enough with domestic policy

That wasn't where her talents lie, the lithe woman took a moment to select a good sized rock from the dark alleyway where she currently was residing. Stepping out from the shadows, Jinx took careful aim then threw the stone, aiming for the head of the Orc but it was merely intended to gain his attention not harm him. Once the orc began paying attention to her, just barely long enough to gaze upon her and realize it was her who cast the first stone, she will slip into the alleyway and melt into the shadows while taunting the proud Warlord to follow.

As Karthis strode toward the house, his shamans begging his attention even as his speech ended he felt a rock ping of his back, and spun in irritation to find a small gnome mocking him from an alley way. I hate gnomes..

Most orcs would have charged the alley blindly, with no sense of the danger, but Karthis was no simpleton and he could smell a trap ALL over that alley. So, grabbing two of Deathsteps Tieflings he slowly rounded the corner swords raised to confront this new threat.

Before the warlord could fully enter the alley to follow the woman, or ignore her to go to his war council, a series of loud booms attract his attention, sounding much like thunder despite the clear sky, much at odds with the bodies of gnomish warriers, and further panicking the frightened civilians.

Then suddenly, a lightning bolt came from the clear sky, curving to strike the statue with such force that any who happened to be within 5ft would be struck down by the blast and shrapnel.

Turning to view where the lightning had struck, you see a large orcish ghost covered in the facial scars of many battles, shaded in black and staring at the warlord.
It turns it's head to face the crowd, it's voice booming.
"Yes. Pick very carefully, for he is watching, and upon you is his hand of darkest wrath."

With that, the ghost returns it's view to his new master, taking large strides that happen to be a centimetre above the ground, until it has taken it's place beside him.

I happened to be listening to THIS when I saw that post and.. well..

Jinx does not make any moves to attack, just continues to provoke the orc and the two flunkies escorting him. She will giggle, taunt and harass them verbally drawing them deeper into the alleyway and farther from any help. Farther down the alley split into three directions; studying each area quickly she quickly leaves signs that she went down all three of the routes. She wanted the warlord alone, her business would be conducted without interruption between her and her perspective client.

Karthis turns to this new arrival, his quarry momentarily forgotten.

This new being, an incarnated warrior, was all that Karthis hoped to be. He had lived, and clearly died by the strength of his blade and power of his will. Awed to silence the Warlord does something no living creatqre has seen him do since his escape from the underdark, he knelt. I am beyond unworthy of your presence mighty soul, even as he speaks the gnome pelts him with rocks, harmless but the sheer weight of its sacrilege weighs heavy on the warlord as he stands, bidden by the spirit and continues to pursue the woman, only mildly amused at the ruse she left at the cross ways the Orcking decides to send the 2 men together down 1 lane, while he and the spirit investigate another, this leaves one unexplored, but the warlord knew rogues and gnomes were famous rogues.

Jinx keeps the taunting up and leads the clueless orc through a few more twists and turns before leading him to a well built and quaint little house. The chimney was bellowing smoke and Jinx began preparing some tea while she waited for the slow orc to arrive. She set out whatever baked goods were available, the slain gnome wife still lying in the middle of the kitchen floor with her dead eyes starring into the distance. When finished, Jinx grabbed some parchment, a quill and a bottle of ink and placed on the table and quietly slipped back into the shadows.

Jinx sighs at the impatience of the orc and quietly steps out of the shadows "I suppose orcs are never taught any form of professionalism or etiquette. Such vulgar manners are not befitting of a king, and also I am no common thief so I request that you refrain from calling me such. I am a professional and have earned my title accordingly, if you insist on denying me such respect than I will conclude our business immediately and you will find yourself alone in a house. Though in the future you may see me again but not in a manner you would wish to meet with me."

The gnome saunters towards the fire and removes the boiling kettle from the fire and carries it over to the table, pouring it into a teapot and letting it steep "I implore you to sit down Lord Karthis, we have much to discuss in regards to the warring of nations. Can I grab you a refreshment? In civilized matters such as this I prefer tea; however, I understand that such protocols aren't specifically known to your kind so I can fetch you something that may be more quenching. I recall seeing a barrel of ale in the cold room and I even spied a small flask of gnomish brandy."

Growling softly to himself Karthis takes a moment to breathe, reminding hiself that haste here could cost him dearly. Summoning the deep vesitges of his patience Karthis dismisses his Spirit to warn his troops of his whereabouts and present company, stumbling briefly as he searches for a word beyond thief or rogue to describe the gnome and finally finds himself resigning to calling the woman "a professional sneak" then removes his weapon, leving it at the door he steps to the table in 2 massive strides and sits with his hands on the table, in what he imagines is his least threatening posture.

You use large words and speak of respect, yet you use My name with no introduction and lead me on a chase through half a village to a dead womans house, only to insult me gnome.. So tell me now, what Business you have with a king

Jinx looks mildly amused at the orc sitting at a gnome table "If I did not respect you then I wouldn't even bother arranging this meeting; I am only seen when I wish to be seen and my services are only offered to those who I deem worthy. If you wish to know of my name I am afraid you will be sorely disappointed but you can refer to as 'Jinx' one of my many aliases. Now as for our little stroll through the alleyways of this town and our brief respite at this charming little home, it has two purposes: the first was to give a little display of my talents, I figure a man of your stature would appreciate a demonstration opposed to empty words. Secondly was to set up this appointment, I am a private woman and appreciate discretion between myself and clients. Not to mention I selected this home for a specific purpose, the gnome that you see on the floor was a former client; she violated the terms of her contract and thus paid the ultimate price. Don't take this as a threat but instead as a gesture of how serious I am about my line of work. I will follow a contract to the letter no more and no less and in return I expect proper compensation. Now I can assume a man in your position could make use of someone with my specific skill set. All I see in your current ranks are brutes and honestly when all a ruler has is a sledge hammer they generally don't last very long. Many task require precision and discretion which are both my area's of expertise. A contract with you will probably be quite different, it will have no expiry date I imagine and no definite terms; however, I reserve the right to refuse a mission based on tactical soundness and self preservation. If I do decide to take a mission I will conduct it in a way I see fitting and I expect that whatever tools or items I request will be given without question. krusk was standing their waiting for his lord to arrive to give them their orders as he had taking away their fun of a slaughtering the gnomes but they still able to put heads of few falling as a warning to gnomes and elves might pass by that this is their future if they stand in way of their lord.

Standing calmly the orc lord exhales slowly First order of business, your right gnome, I need wise counsel and I need a steady hand If I am to continue on the path my gods have chosen. Moving to the warroom makes it so we can dispense the orders we seem to be executing already in the OOC thread, this will let us move forward and end week 2 and begin week 3 after Krusk murders some dwarves~

The gnome quickly jots down the agreed terms and looks up "I will tell you right now that I am no envoy or ambassador, the type of diplomacy I will engage in is generally one sided; in fact the other side has no idea that I am conducting business. We can move to your war room but before that... sign here." The gnome takes out a dagger and creates a thin cut in her skin and applies her blood gingerly across the bottom of the parchment.

Grumbling Karthis eyes the paper, magic no doubt, but it would work both ways and he had no plans to lose this gnome, pulling a large boot dagger out Karthis grabs the blade, then he pulls. As his hand begins to bleed heavily he stands up and leaves his hand print across the last several lines of text.
Its done then.
Karthis turns, collecting his weapon and leaving the house, his patience was at an end, the gnome would follow or she would not, either way this shack smelt and he had more pressing matters than teaparties with lunatics.

As he strode back up the alley he saw the 2 Tieflings come back up from the 3rd alleyway, nodding approval at the men for continuing their search and assuming the commander was fine he walked on, now flanked by the 2 tieflings and began to wrap hos hand as he pushed te door to hos temporary warroom open to find his generals Jinx, meet Deathstep a tiefling mercenary and perspnal friend, Bolasmal, my personal orcish shaman, Kitchk, my goblin representative and Krusk a long time friend whos hatred of the elvenhiem is even blacker than mine, turning to Krusk, Karthis questions the captain, and that mayor I told you to find? I presume he is here?

I.. Ermm helloh.

Glancing down Karthis notices the man, small, even for a gnome, with a finger missing from his left hand, the man cowered as near to the door as possible very much a lamb in a den of lions.

Mayor...

Gormen! Mayor Gormen! the gbome pipes up, seemingly inspired by his office

Mayor... Gnngnn.. Goreman.. Please, tell us what you can about the area, the people and creatures nearby. Karthis sneers in what he imagines o be a soothin and welcoming expression

The gnome silently replaces her glove and collects the signed contract before disappearing into the shadows again. She does not follow but instead goes directly to the temporary strategy room and waits for her client to arrive. At the introduction of the merc captain Jinx merely sighs at the trivialities, she did not care about his flunkies, now that she was under contract her time was valuable.

So, to business, I need information before I can continue, Deathstep will head north, gather more to our cause and tell the world of the banner you bring. Jynx, I need you with him, ensure he doesn't.. gnngh kill anything. If we find a Kingdom or some similar community Deathstep will barter for peace while you sneak across the lines and do anything you can to case nnn.. longish.. weakening, irritated at his own vocabulary Karthis adds poison troops, burn armories, you know better than me how to hurt them this way. Karthis turns and glares down as the goblin messenger relays how his people have been devastated by the dwarves to the south Krusk, go rally the broken squalor to the south, we will march on these dwarves by the end of the week. I will take my men east, clear the fields before meeting you at their gates. Turning to regard the Mayor Krusk licks his tusks For the safety of your people mayor, build some earthen walls. We will fund them for you.. Then Send a Raven to Tauthit, at my keep to the south, tell him to begin building roads north. Then send him to the East to Lias with the Hobgoblin Empire there.

"My lord, I would be happy to harry them for you, I can promise much death and panic, even without them knowing of the truth as to the presence harming them, I could even sever their head from their shoulders should you so desire."

Great Spirit we need you to bless the fields of battle when we march on these dwarves to the south, Jynx will only be scouting, or first moves, let her weaken the wretches before we move against them. I need information, on these Northerners before I would send you there, and I need precision, far more than a warriors touch.

Trying not to metagame, but I want to keep the Shade in my company, having him take down Sophia's troops a notch while glorious is to aggressive for Karthis tastes IC right now. With one hand we will offer peace, and with another, we will weaken their armies and their resolve.

The ghost closes it's eyes for a while, it seems to be meditating of all things. After a moment it begins to speak.
"Haven relies on it's champions, heroes, some of which are of great power, and Sophia herself often intervenes. They reverse death at a whim, anyone there would need great care and stealth, and to know not even hiding the body will help them... A frontal assault would be insane, for even should victory be achieved, a mere 10 minutes later a whipped out unit may be returned to full strength and marching singing hymns of vengeance, so it is your champions you must target, but to do so you must aim to strike a gods heart..."

The ghost doesn't open it's eyes, appearing to still be in thought...
