"The trip was too far for us to bring any meat back, sorry." Waterstrider apologizes to Tito. He didn't want to explain that it wasn't that type of hunt, since looking back, it felt like a great waste of food.

Pathfinder pauses for a moment, uncertain with what he was going to say with the children here, but after a moment, he speaks. "When I was knocked unconscious, Dark Step came to speak to me, to inform me of a secret. We...Waterstrider and I, are the sons of Fenrir and Dawn Wolf." He explains bluntly.

[Pathfinder's Hut]

Renetta just stares for a second. She's quite understandably stunned. "How is that even possible? I mean, what does that mean for you two?" She shifts wide eyed gaze from Pathfinder to Waterstrider.

Marty is freaking out. N-No! I c-can't! Can't...no...D-Dead?

"Ok, now you're just babbling. Take a few deep breaths and calm down." Reinholdt's starting to think this guy has several screws loose. He hasn't been fully coherent yet.

Lily gasps, and puts her hands over her mouth. Tito screws up his face. "But why didn't your parents tell you themselves?"

The shaman chuckles a bit. "I don't mind if it doesn't come with a show. It's the story itself that is important."

Reelshka smiles. Speaking of stories... I've been meaning to ask you something. How did Renetta get turned into a Wolfen? Seems Reelshka can't quite notice the difference between a Wolfen and a Wolfen/Elf hybrid.

Pathfinder is about to answer Lily, but his brother beats him to it. "Because if we'd been told while we were younger, we would be even more stubborn and arrogant." He tells her with a slight smile, joking about himself.

Pathfinder gives a nod in agreement. "As for how it's possible and what it means, do you remember the story I told everyone about Dark Step? He was merely their first child. They've likely had dozens of children by now."

"Dawn Wolf blessed her, Waterstrider, and their unborn child." He tells Reelshka. "Turned them into Wolfen/Elf crossbreeds so they could have a real family together. It...it isn't something that's done lightly and means a lot more for our race as a whole than you might think."

Reelshka's ears twitch, as she's pretty stunned. Well, that's... big. She's got used to direct divine interventions in the Nexus, but that's still amazing.
Oh, I can imagine, she says slowly. Has anything like that happened before?

Tito doesn't say anything, and reaches over to pet Flamecrest's ears softly.

Flamecrest nuzzles into Tito's hand. "Wow." Renetta says, still taking it in. "How do you two feel about this then?" She could probably ask a hundred more questions at this rate.

"I'm a latent shapeshifter- a human that can naturally change forms. Unlike non-latent shapeshifters, I can't absorb forms on my own. I need something to forcibly polymorph me before I can shift into that shape. The shape I've had longest is that of a monkey." Natalie smiles at the explanation, hoping it's understandable. After she discovered her ability, she did a bit of research to find out more and if there's a way she could gain forms on her own without using magic. Also to see if there's any clothes available that can move across forms, too.

"You can turn into a monkey?" Says Caden, eyes rapidly widening. He seems to have understood quite well. "Really? Can I see?"

"Sure!" Natalie's already barefoot, which is good- her toes get longer and more like hands as thick black fur grows from her arms, legs and torso, leaving her face bare. Her hair shrinks back so it's as long as the rest of her fur and a tail grows out from under her skirt. Also, because she's a spider monkey in this form, her thumbs atrophy back and are absorbed into the rest of her hand. When the transformation is complete, Natalie waves, to prove she's still Natalie. Though the fact that nothing has happened to her clothes besides move slightly as Natalie changed inside them helps prove her identity.

Natalie would have given him a surprise by turning into a bird, but her clothes don't change so she'd be nude when she changed back.

Andy just shrugs he can't really understand their happiness. He never had something he missed or liked so much. Well there is one thing, but .. NOT NOW. Andy will try to pick both up droping them gently in his left hand (the metal one). It still appears like a normal arm.

If that all works fine he takes them outside a few miles to an apple plantage.

"You wanted to see this?"

The apples currently are in bloom since it's at the end of spring right now.

Caden takes a step back, watching the transformation with awe and a degree of fear. When she waves at him, though, he giggles and waves back. "You look funny!" He leans closer, peering. "Can you still talk?"

Honestly, Marty's just about at cracking point...has been for a while. What with gnolls, dead people, and now horrible tentacle goddesses that wanted to eat him. Almost like Cthulu. You d-don't! She! She has huge armor....covered in blood...big sword....andd tentacles...so much blood....she wants to kill everyone! She's a goddess! She knows Quinn! Y-You! She's going t-to kill everyone...She's going to k-kill everyone! ...Did he just say that three times? I'm guessing
Rein heard it the first...It wants to kill us! Probably some kind of evil cultists goddess of bad stuff!

Natalie shakes her head. She'd be able to talk if she was a parrot, probably, or if she gained the form of something capable of talking. Although if she put her mind to it she might be able to combine forms and talk that way, it's no sure thing and she hasn't thought of it yet.

"Well... you wanna go find that tree?" It is doubtful they will, at least in Caden's opinion, but he's got a plan.

Natalie nods and turns back into a person, the process reversing. "Yes, let's." Natalie wiggles her thumbs again. Most of her forms have thumbs; they're good to have.

"Alright alright. Look. There's probably still time to save everyone, but we'll need to be stronger. Fortunately for you, I got just the thing." Reinholdt pulls out two large vials of blue liquid. "Saving these potions for a special occasion. You game?" Reinholdt asks, offering one to Marty.

Marty raises an eyebrow. W-Wait, what?!

"If we're to save everyone from the blood tentacle goddess, we're going to need every edge we can get." Reinholdt says, wondering if it isn't he who should be asking that question and not the other way around.

[Hattish Thing]

Marty groans as he feels a large bruise on his leg. I thought they were dead?

[Reinholdt]

"Oh they probably are, but why would such a goddess stop at just one campsite? Surely she'll just keep killing and killing and every moment you waste here is another dead person. Now, are we going to stop her or are you going to sit here feeling sorry for yourself?"

Since neither of them know what it looks like, I doubt they'll find one either.

"Lets go," says Caden, attempting to snatch up Natalie's hand and hurry of into the forest. Deeper and deeper. Perhaps a bit far from the camp, but not far enough to lose track of its location.

Natalie will rush off into the forest, too. She doesn't seem to mind having her hand held, though she probably wouldn't have initiated it on her own.

Natalie sometimes finds herself missing her tail when she's human, but thumbs more than make up for that.

Pathfinder kneels down to hug Lily tight. "I'm not going to the spirit world for a very very long time, I promise. And I always keep my promises, don't I?" He asks of her.

Waterstrider smiles gently at the scene before turning back to Renetta. He also reaches out to pet his daughter gently before ruffling Tito's hair affectionately. "How can we not be okay with it?" He asks. "It also means a couple things that concern you as well." He says, looking at her with a slight smile. "I think it means our daughter has their bloodline too now."

Pathfinder shakes his head. "This is the only time I think it's happened, but that's not the big thing about it. It means that the Wolfen race can intermix with elves now. We couldn't crossbreed. Not for lack of trying either." He informs her.
