Edge of the Forest

Natalie will rush off into the forest, too. She doesn't seem to mind having her hand held, though she probably wouldn't have initiated it on her own.

Natalie sometimes finds herself missing her tail when she's human, but thumbs more than make up for that.

After a time, the two children likely grow exhausted wandering about in the woods. Caden sits down on an old, torn-up stump, looking around. "Maybe we should do something else..."

Deep in the Forest

"Yeah, maybe. Do you have anything in mind?" Natalie's still hopeful she'll find a monkey-puzzle tree, just not today and not near GLoG. She'll sit cross-legged on the floor.

"Oh, I'm sorry ma'am. Anything I can do to help ma'am?"

Butler doesn't know how though, since he's already keeping her company. Makes it a difficult problem to deal with.

I don't think there is anything you can do, Butler. Vidalia smiles. Except maybe.... A nice massage would be nice.

Butler smiles a little back. "Alright ma'am. Any particular kind ma'am?"

There are, in fact, multiple kinds!

"I do." He says with a smile, reaching out to stroke his daughter once more, proud of what she is and what she might become.

Deep in the Forest

"Hide and seek, maybe?" Caden suggests, eager to play with a new friend by all appearances. "We should play for something though..."

[Lakeshore - (B)]

"Oh, I wouldn't wanna jump over one!" Says Karry. She then turns to Brinika, saying, "They're these big fish with a lotta teeth. They can get as big as a wagon!"

Brinika's eyes go wide. And they live in the water? Could they live in our lake too?

Common Grounds

Pathfinder shakes his head. "This is the only time I think it's happened, but that's not the big thing about it. It means that the Wolfen race can intermix with elves now. We couldn't crossbreed. Not for lack of trying either." He informs her.

Reelshka nods.
I see... This is a big change. But I can't think of many people who'd deserve it more than Renetta and Waterstrider, she says.

I discovered that I have quite a bit in common with her, which personally makes it easier to discuss my problems. But generally, she's a good person who can both listen without judging and stubbornly keep you from temptation. Which tends to be a good thing when talking about Evil people.

Toby is still talking with Eric.

[Main Cabin]

Another Toby, plotcloned from a time before that conversation, is with his son Hadrian in the Main Cabin. He's giving the kid some Young-ian Symbols (TM) play toys! They include such archetypal items as the Wise Old Woman doll, the Puer Aeturnus action figure, the Ouroboros teething ring, and a plastic Emerald Tablet, which Hadrian promptly sits on. Toby tries to get his son to play with the Trickster stuffed fox, but the child seems more interested in the Apollo reading book.

"Oh they probably are, but why would such a goddess stop at just one campsite? Surely she'll just keep killing and killing and every moment you waste here is another dead person. Now, are we going to stop her or are you going to sit here feeling sorry for yourself?"

All...d-dead...dead...I can't...fine....gimme the p-potion...

"Alright." Reinholdt gives him one of them, keeping the other for himself. He pops his vial's stopper and watches Marty.

Marty gulps down the whole bottle in one mighty swig.

[Reinholdt]

Well now. Marty just downed an entire bottle of Sannish. It's one of the... substances Reinholdt occasionally uses. It stains blue a fair bit, and also causes euphoria. Overdosing causes intense numbness and Rein suspects he just gave Marty a bit more than he needed.

It's not quite a sedative, but it's the best Rein could come up with at the time.

While Marty's busy downing his, Reinholdt hammerspaces the one he's got.

The Skies!

It seems all too common that Kashi is ferrying another group of passengers to GLoG and back, but it's actually only the second time he's done so. Now with Freddie and Cat holding on tight, he circles around the lake and looks for a good place to land.

Oh hey look, the old campfire in the common grounds where he met all the nice people like Hekta and Lily and Brinika. That's as good a place as any.

Kashi touches down with a light thumb, kneeling a bit so Cat and Freddie can get off more easily. No fancy maneuvers for these two, not with what they've been through.

[Hattish Thing]

Well, seeing as Marty just swallowed the whole bottle. He feels his fingers go numb along with his toes, then the feeling starts to spread. He stumbles before slumping down next to a tree with a weird smile on his face. Heh....w-what....what was that?

[Rebonack]

[Firepit]

That's good.

Fancy maneuvers really isn't what they need right now. Better of giving Cat a chance to rest.

Fredrick hops off and brushes the non-existent dust off his clothing! Because that's what you always do after a harrowing ride like that.

Right?

Anywho...

"Thanks Kashi," he comments with a nod before turning his attention to Cat. "Are you feeling alright? We should probably rest up a bit. Then tell someone about this Warlock guy."

Cat will slowly climb down.
"Thank you," she'll tell Kashi.

Cat looks a lot better. A little tired but that's it.
"I think everything's healed now."
She'll give Freddie a small smile. "Is this where you live?"

[Reinholdt]

Lake

"That... that was what you call necessary." Reinholdt says. Shame that one mental hospital blew up. Rein'd probably take him there.

Oh well. Least he can try to get him into the infirmary and strapped down.
"We're going to see Quinn now, ok?" Reinholdt says, stepping over to Marty with the intent to pick him up.

"I have a spare piece of striated jasper; if you win, I'll give it to you. But what if I win? And how should we determine winning, anyway, with just the two of us?" Normally it's last person to be found who wins and takes over the job of hunter.

Fredrick nods as he kneels down by the edge of the firepit, poking at a few still smouldering embers with one finger. The heat doesn't seem to bother him at all.

Not even a little bit!

As he fiddles he allows his three tails to sneak out of his glamor. They always feel less cramped this way!

"Yeah. It's nice here. Peaceful. And lots of kids! When they're out in force it becomes a bit less peaceful."

Because CHILDREN!

"Huldra can't harm anyone that young. It's nice to be able to interact with people without thinking about eating them."

Brinika's eyes go wide. And they live in the water? Could they live in our lake too?

"Nope, they live in salt water, and this is fresh water," Jamie explains with a smile.

Kashi looks curiously at the dead fire, and then breathes a gout of flame over it, igniting the embers and coals without any regard for Freddie's safety.

After that's done, he gives Freddie a curious look, "Snyyui? <Why do you eat people anyway?>"

Time to take the crab elsewhere!

No doubt all sorts of tasty things can be made out of it!

Oh.

And you can totally eat the meat inside the crab, too. Not just the legs!

Though the legs are the best part!

"Hello? Anyone in here?" the Huldra calls out. "We brought some weird animal for dinner that goes well with butter?"

At least that's what Jamie said.

Mikani follows...de-transforming back to Jamie on the way!
And, finding the kitchen (or at least this particular occurance of it) empty, she heads for the cupboard. Opens it...

"...we're gonna need a bigger pot."

'' Sure is peaceful, yes.''
She'll go sit by the fire too, careful to avoid Kashi's flames.

''Must be nice...'' She'll think for a bit.
'' Does that bother you much when I'm around? The wanting to eat, I mean.''
It's a bit of an awkward question and she looks at the ground, pulling at the grass.

Freddie will leave the crab to be cooked before heading away to drop off the herbs for Pathfinder. This allows Rebo to totally hand-wave the older instance of Freddie away since two versions of the same PC in the same general area is really weird!

There's a good chance that the Freddie over by the fire pit might stop by later despite that having taken place days in the future.

Continuity cries in a corner.

Freddie scoops out a handful of fire and sits back on the bench examining the dancing tongues of flame. "Well..." the Huldra replies. "When I was cursed it was like my humanity was burned out of my insides. If I don't eat the ghosts I feel hollow and empty. Eventually it starts to feel like I'm burning. It... hurts. A lot."

A whole lot.

"And when I eat the ghosts those feelings go away for a little while. And there are stories that if a Huldra eats one thousand ghosts they become human again. And... I would really like to be human again."

Then Cat pipes up! Freddie sort of... blushes and looks away. "Eerr... sort of... But I've been getting better at ignoring it. That and I'm not even sure if I could eat you. All things considered."

Tito finally stands up. "I don't believe it. It's just a story." Unless someone stops him, he'll head off, seeming rather disgruntled.

Kashi thinks a bit on that. It was all kind of sad really. Although, he doesn't understand how burning on the inside could hurt. Kashi's insides burn things, and he's never burnt by it.

"Snyuuu. <Ghost are scary. I'm glad you eat them.>" That's about all he can say really. He doesn't want to be mad at Freddie for eating people too, since he doesn't have much choice.

The big dragon yawns. It really has been a long day hasn't it? He should take a nap. Kashi curls up in a circle around the campfire and lets his eyes half-close. He'll listen to the conversation, and maybe respond if he's addressed, but otherwise it's dozing time.

Cat nods, eyes still on the ground.
'' That's good, I supose.''
She pauses for a bit. '' Better not find out if it'd work or not.''
Tempting as it may be.

''So what now?''

"What do we do now?" Salix asks. She's never cooked anything ever. This is all new territory.

[Forest Hut]

Renetta blinks at Tito's reaction. She looks between Waterstrider and Pathfinder, unsure what to say.

They should cook the crab and take it to the fire pit!

No doubt Kashi would like this plan.

[Firepit]

"Some people seem to like ghosts for whatever reason. And... I try to avoid eating people if I can," Freddie admits. "The only people I've ever eaten were really mean. The sort of people that hurt or even kill other people."

Those jerks!

No one will miss them.

"Well. I guess we could speak with one of the people in charge," Freddie suggests. "Mention the thing about Boggarts stealing away kids. I'm not sure if those plans would reach all the way out here. Hopefully not."

''Sounds like a plan.''
She'll slowly stand up, using her staff as a support.

''Those boggarts should be stopped. Poor kids..''
Now would be a good time to test the staff's hover abilities.
She'll try to sit on it, hoping it will keep in the air.
